A short walk down the wooded trail brings you to a small clearing with a central fire pit and several areas suitable for a tent. Situated close to a road, traffic can be heard but easily tuned out, particularly as the road gets much quieter at night. The woods are next to a large open field that is great for star gazing. Our little private campground is a hidden jewel in the making. Each campsite is private. We are not a parking lot like so many campgrounds are these days. We are still currently working on infrastructure but are willing to host campers that are self sufficient at a reduced rate for now. We do have a fun play ground, hiking trails, a steam we lovingly named Alligator Gore (to keep the little ones out of the mud). We are pet friendly. Each site has a fire ring or fire pit. Located just 10 minutes from I-40 off US 41 we are easily found. A diamond in the rough.

We enjoyed our stay at Bright Star Farm. It was nice and quiet. The directions were clear and the spot was very nice. They have a nice bathroom. We enjoyed seeing the peacocks and the miniature horses were adorable. It was nice getting a bit of history from the owners and the were super friendly! Would definitely recommend.

Wifi not available to all spots, they did say they are working on getting power and internet to all sites. The restroom and shower also clean. We will be going back.

Excellent spot away from the city but not to far out of the way. Right on the water side made for excellent mornings sitting around the fire enjoying coffee and enjoying the view. The host was exceptional with everything from first meet and great to departure. If you want a quite relaxing weekend away I would highly recommend this spot.

Cory's place is such a unique and fun spot. I took my 3 young kids here to enjoy the animals (second time) and it doesn't disappoint. They saw animals they've never seen in each life, and the campsite is set back just far enough that it feels private, but is close to the animals and restroom. We had a great time!

I loved tent camping on Megan’s homestead! Even though it rained the whole night, my pup and I felt very warm and safe tucked in their wooded trees. So thankful for access to an indoor sink and toilet! The farm animals are adorable and fun, and the whole family was very welcoming and hospitable! ☀️ Americas finest!

Great place to camp! The hosts were friendly and accommodating on the initial greet. They live there on the property but felt private as it's the only tent site. Would absolutely stay again.

We had such a good stay on Megan’s land. We tent camped with our 2 year old for 2 nights and he absolutely loved seeing the animals and playing by the creek. We didn’t make it for him to feed the animals but there is so many to see, kids would absolutely love this experience. The whole family was so helpful and friendly. Just the right amount of privacy. We have nothing bad to say and would absolutely stay with them again!

My first night solo camping and I couldn't have picked a better spot! I camped in the forest behind the church and it's beautiful and peaceful. Composting toilets (and an outdoor shower) are just a short walk away. Kevin was friendly and very helpful. I'll definitely stay again when I'm in the area.

Weekend Trip to Oak Grove Retreat
Oak Grove Retreat is truly a special place!!! I feel a profound sense of happiness and tranquility when I am there. The hosts consistently provide friendly service and create a welcoming atmosphere. The grounds are always well maintained, featuring beautiful moss covered trails, seasonal gardens and a lush forest. I have also enjoyed participating in several events there over the last few years and look forward to my next visit.
