3 nights at Hood Valley Lane

We had a wonderful weekend getaway here. We were in an RV and appreciated the full hookup on the campsite. The separate bathhouse was awesome and a nice bonus. Sitting beside the river with a fire going in the fire pit was so peaceful. The host was very responsive and kind. We highly recommend this Hipcamp site and will be back!

Teresa was a great host and has a lovely piece of property on the lake. the fhu campsite is a bit tricky to get into if you have a larger camper, but we did just fine. she met us at the driveway and walked us thru what we needed to do. we had a peekaboo view of the lake from the camper. the site was level side to side but a bit downhill. we had no issue getting level with our 28 ft tt. it’s a short walk down the hill to the dock behind her home.

We had a great time tent camping. Potable water and electricity worked great. They have the cutest temperature controlled bath house with a good a shower and laundry. My son loved playing in the shallow river. Thank you for sharing your space with us.

Thank you Jason for sharing your slice of heaven with us this weekend. Black Bear Farm is absolutely beautiful and so perfectly peaceful. Just a few minutes from the amazing restaurants and shops that Travelers Rest has to offer, Jason greeted us upon our arrival and left us to explore his property and town. This Hip Camp is just a quick drive to downtown Greenville. We cannot wait to come back!

We loved camping here! Very quiet, private, well spaced campground. The owners messaged us morning of our trip to let us know our site was vacant the night before and we could arrive early. Definitely follow the directions provided and you won’t have an issue. There are multiple river access points which is very nice. The owner stopped by to tell us about watching the sunset from the ridge (on the property) and this quickly became the highlight of our trip. Gorgeous views and nice, clean campground!

This place was absolutely fabulous. Exclamation, I’m a little hesitant to write such a raving review because it’s already mostly booked and we would love to go back. In fact we’ve already booked our second trip. It’s wonderful restful close but not too close yet far enough away from all the busy craziness that Asheville has now become. It’s wonderful to bring our own little home but yet enjoy some of the finer trappings of a glamping lifestyle.

You'll be staying on our farm, which is a working horseback riding and equine therapy facility as well as a sanctuary for many other animals (including mini cows, turkeys, chickens, a pig, alpacas, goats, and a llama!) But don't worry, your campsite is surrounded by beauty and privacy. Enjoy walking through the woods, sharing a picnic while visiting with the animals, or just having relaxing in nature! We also sell farm fresh eggs by the half-dozen for $2, so you can cook your own egg breakfast if you would like! Our campsites are rustic. Golden Valley is in the center of the majestic South Mountains, a mountain range carved out of the Blue Ridge by erosion and lying just east of the main Blue Ridge Mountain range. It is a broad belt of peaks and knobs rising abruptly from a deep valley (Golden Valley). These steep, rugged mountains encompass 100,000 acres (404 km2) in Rutherford, Burke, and Cleveland counties, away from the lights and sounds of the city. We have always enjoyed quiet secluded campsites, river floats and sitting by the river. After years of looking all over the mountains for a river property we could call our own, our favorite spot on the river came up for sale. It just so happened it was nearly halfway between where we both grew up. After many sleepless nights worrying if we could succeed or not (it was much larger than properties we had been looking for), we bought it! Our favorite spot on the river was virtually inaccessible by any way other than floating. But after hundreds of hours of hard work, we think we have developed a place where others too can enjoy the things we do about the property. We dream big and Tellurian remains a work in progress, but we feel we have created a place where folks can enjoy the peacefulness of nature, the river and incredible views.
