--WIFI--
We are a small, family-owned operation. At the current moment, we are not offering wifi.
--KAYAKS--
The two fishing kayaks are complimentary and included in your stay. The kayak racks are located on the fence at the front of the property. There’s a life jacket and a whistle with each kayak, as you will need to have those on board per Coast Guard regulations.
With the Crystal Coast having so many waterways and water access points, there really are several different places to launch your kayak throughout the area, so it's easy to have a unique experience with each new adventure! The two kayak launches that we recommend are the Beaufort waterfront and the Morehead City waterfront.
The kayak launch on the Beaufort waterfront is near the corner of Front St and Pollock St at Grayden Paul Park. It is near all the ferry ticket booths and docks. The launch is a sandy strip of land, where you can easily get into the water and then paddle around Taylor’s Creek and enjoy Carrot Island. If you get lucky, you might see the wild horses on Carrot Island!
At the Morehead City waterfront, there is a local kayak company at Jaycee Park by the transient docks, and they put their kayaks in the water there. I would instead recommend going to the Morehead City waterfront at 10th St., where there is a little beach, boat ramp, dock, small fishing pier, and kayak launch. This is just a block over from Jaycee Park where the other kayak company is located. From here, you can paddle over to Sugarloaf Island and enjoy the beaches on the island.
Keep in mind that our amenities and grounds are shared with any guests vacationing at the Coastal Tiki Hideaway and the Coastal Cozy Camper, and there is not a reservation process for the kayaks. It is first come, first served. Also transportation of the kayaks to and from your destination is the responsibility of each of our guests, but feel free to message us with any questions or for any tips as you are planning your kayak trip.
