The property is very spread out and there are 2 outhouses for all sites to use. Your pets are welcome too! Locally there are state parks with beaches, and state forest for trails and lakes, hiking and biking. Or you can just relax and enjoy the serenity! We cannot allow any wood for camp fires to be brought in form the outside for environmental reasons. It can be pre-purchased for $12 per bundle on this site, or $10.00 cash here at farm. Farm Fresh eggs daily when available for $5.00 per 1/2 dozen. Blankets and pillows only are provided, NO LINENS for cabin or trailer sites only. Garbage removal is available as well $5 per bag provided.

The Sandbox campground was born from The Sandbox Indoor Beach Sports and Events facility, which mainly focuses on providing year round beach volleyball. We bought the property in 2015 and opened the facility in 2019. As it happens, it's a 12+ acre lot surrounded by wetlands, hiking and biking trails ... there will never be another building built within view of our facility. We are surrounded by nature, and will be forever. So what a great opportunity to offer camping and access to all of the forests, woodlands, wetlands and trails around! This property has been in my family for three generations. It is classic Connecticut with hills and streams and stone walls. The octagon is a private 122 ft.² that is electrified and heated. It has a full size bed, cabinet and table with chairs. It sits next to a brook on 56 acres of forest with a pond, small waterfall, marsh and 2 1/2 miles of hiking trails. There is a fire pit and outdoor dining area next to the octagon. We also have a propane outdoor grill and propane two burner camp stove. Out house with composting toilet close to octagon is heated. A great place to rejuvenate in the forest! Dogs welcome.

This spot was absolutely beautiful 😍❤️ We had a great experience. Both host were so friendly and welcoming. Horses that came up to our trailer was an incredible experience. I've never slept in a horse trailer, but there's a first for everything. I didn't get the greatest sleep. But hey, it's a horse trailer. There's a few minor things I would update, but honestly for the spot, cost and just amazing time we had. It was perfect! And literally no bugs when we were outside hanging out.

Five stars aren’t enough to describe our stay at the picturesque Octagon. This is a perfect getaway for a solo traveler or couple. Nancy thought of all the details, and we felt so welcomed. We cooked dinner over the bonfire, and in addition to the tiny house, enjoyed the outdoor shower and a hike through this beautiful property. I hope to return one day!

We had such a nice time staying at Mary and Victor’s cabin! We brought our cat with us and we all got to watch the horses graze all day, had a perfect setup for fire and cooking. The bed was super comfortable and we slept amazingly. I would definitely recommend this place to others and we would love to come back and stay sometime soon. Victor and Mary were both extremely kind and welcoming, thank you for such a lovely stay!

Great hospitality from Mary & Victor. The horses were friendly to my dog & I. There are also chickens on the site as well. You can tell a lot of thought was put into the cabin. It’s very homey & cozy. I stayed for one night and going to stay for more whenever I need a getaway! Recommend. :)

This was our second time staying at the Hiker's Haven. It was very peaceful and relaxing. We had a lovely little fire in the fire pit. The trails are well maintained. It all made for a very rejuvenating stay. We do hope to stay again in the future, maybe it will become a yearly tradition.

I would love to take this time to express the wonderful time I had. The tranquility was exactly what I was looking for. The cabin had all the necessities needed to get comfortable and enjoy nature right at your feet. Nancy was such a joy to speak with and to get to know. The land itself is beautiful with so many wonderful trails to walk along. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone and everyone. AHO!
