While there are communal gathering spaces on the property, each accommodation has it’s own privacy and it’s own picnic table, charcoal grill and firepit. It is a far cry from a typical hotel or traditional glamping. This Clearing Farm off-grid cabin is located on our 100+ acre farm. You'll be staying right next to a waterfall and able to enjoy all our land features. Experience a private campsite equipped with a Casper Full Mattress, fire pit and charcoal grill. Please note there is 1 bed at the property but room next to the cabin to bring and put up additional tents. There is no power at the campsite. THERE IS NO LONGER THE WOOD BURNING STOVE IN THE CABIN - THE TOWN MADE US TAKE IT OUT. There is also no shower. If you would like to bathe in the streams please use all natural soap as the animals drink from it. The Thermal Spring is under repair and will not be back open until 2026.

Lake Taghkanic is a great place for both summer and winter stays, with plenty of tent campsites as well as cabins and cottages, and a variety of activities to do year round. For winter folks, there's cross-country skiing and snowmobile trails, as well as ice skating and ice fishing areas, and plenty of fire pits to warm those chilly bones. For summer lovin', there are two beaches, so if someone kicks sand in your potato salad (accidentally, of course), you can just go to another beach and pretend like it never happened. The only sleeping quarters that are on the water are some of the cottages in the West End Cottage Area, so if you're planning on playing Beach Party Bingo, plan accordingly or be willing to walk a bit from your tent or cabin.

There's even a natural spring 1/2 mile up the road if you want to take some fresh mountain water on your journey. For summer lovin', there are two beaches, so if someone kicks sand in your potato salad (accidentally, of course), you can just go to another beach and pretend like it never happened. The only sleeping quarters that are on the water are some of the cottages in the West End Cottage Area, so if you're planning on playing Beach Party Bingo, plan accordingly or be willing to walk a bit from your tent or cabin.

With three private sites deep in the Catskills, this special land has a variety of mature trees, open meadows with ferns and dogwood stands, remnants of an old apple orchard, trails across old rock walls and mountain streams through gently sloping topography, and abundant birds, frogs, newts, and other wildlife. Plus one of the best swimming ponds in all of the Catskills! There are three sites: one tucked into a meadow in a forest clearing, another under a hemlock grove deeper in the woods, and a third reserved for Long Path thru-hikers who come down from the mountains for a break, which can also be overflow. All are off-grid and rustic but close enough to the house and parking area to have convenience, and far enough—and hidden out of view—to offer real privacy. (About a 4-minute walk from your shared toilet/supply/storage shed by driveway.) Tent area has cleared flat pads for two small tents. Location is far enough from things that you can walk a minute into the woods and feel lost to civilization, yet only two miles of paved road from downtown Windham and all that the cozy resort town has to offer. Makes a great basecamp for exploring the rest of the Northern Catskills, or a hideaway to stay and get lost in. Hike miles of trails and old logging roads in the Elm Ridge Wild Forest, starting literally steps from your campsite. Swim in the large spring-fed pond, or just watch the colorful koi swim. Sit around the fire and reflect on the day’s adventures. Or just take in the wide-open views of distant mountains and starry skies. Note: the only "Kitchen available" (Hipcamp's wording) is a grill over firepit. Also, toilet is a bucket-style dry composting toilet with urine diversion inside a protected shed. A true wilderness experience. Base camp is an old Catskill farmhouse built late 19th century but first deeded 1820. Sits at the base of Evergreen Mountain bordered on three sides by tumbling water: West Kill Creek, Herdman Brook, and Haring Brook. Operated as a hunting and fishing lodge for decades - rainbow, brown, heron, kingfishers, eagles, larks , deer, bear, mink, beaver, bobcat - all there, right out the door, literally. You don't know what's going to come through your camp. The actual camp site itself is the ultimate in social distancing. As close to pure wilderness as it gets. No vehicles allowed at site. From an easily accessible parking space, it's a mildly uphill ten minute hike through magical meadows deep into a hidden mountain valley in the midst of 250,000 acres. Utter privacy. The only sounds being the wind, the birds, yourself, and Herdman Brook rushing along a few yards east of your site. Once again no vehicles are allowed at the campsite itself. At one time, yes, but we needed to disallow it because the property was being torn up, and the beauty of the site is that it's so pristine. This is not glamping. No cabin. No platform. Need tent, tarp, or hammock, and you will sleep under more stars than you can possibly imagine. Fire ring, cooking grate, water bucket This is true wilderness camping. You're off the grid at site - no cell service - but wifi available if necessary on front porch of main house aka base camp. 10 a.m. check in. 3 p.m. checkout. Please send ETA when possible. Campers ought to be aware that black bears live in these mountains., although you're not likely to see one unless it's running away from you. If you're really nervous bring bear spray, but you're not likely to need it. I literally chased one off our porch not a month ago. I would appreciate your purchasing human waste bags from me at base camp when you arrive. I'll have them here for $3.00/bag. Feel free to buy your own. You should also bring FIRE STARTER to make your life easier. We sell firewood as well - 7 logs/$10. As with the waste bags, we would appreciate buying the firewood directly from us. Wonderful hikes - one to a waterfall - trail head at end of Spruceton Rd. Hunter Brook, Devil's Notch, Fire Tower atop Hunter Mountain, Ridge of West Kill Mountain West Kill Brewery and Spruceton Inn Bed and Bar each half mile up the road. Civilized respites. 4 campers preferred. 6 possible. One more thing: DOGS. We have two: a 13 year old female whatever and a shepherd-husky mix, 4 years old, also female. They are quite friendly and docile, although the shepherd looks intimidating, and both roam the property at will 2-3 times/day. We would prefer you not bring your dog, however, if you must, please be certain it is well behaved 4.5 miles up County Rte 6 to 1833 Spruceton Rd., NY 12492 Old white farmhouse. On left. The land lights up at sunset as solar string lights hang to illuminate the cooking area, wash area, bath area, dining area. There is a lakeside fire pit and lakeside dining table. 🚿We provide up to 200 gallons of water for the stay, which can be linked up to a propane water heater providing running hot water for the outdoor shower and the sink. 🚘The local grocery stores, Buy Rite and Forage + Gather, are just a 3 minutes drive from the property. 🥾Bring your boots! Our path to the lake can get a bit muddy in areas after wet weather. Parking is about 500 ft from the tent, so please keep this in mind with regards to bags/luggage. I took this trip with my adult son and I was as tranquil and a bounty of wildlife. The sunsets are great and you’re perch on a hill overlooking a lake so quite scenic. If you want to totally disconnect be at peace and rough it a little this is the place for you. There is a a generator for light, heat and a refrigerator. We took our own portable compost and a small rinse king system to wash up.. Cooking outside was a thrill for my son as well, we gather wood from the surroundings. Konsztantine was very responsive and quite hospitable. Quick responses to whatever we asked. Best in class host. I will definitely be back. Highly recommended.

I would recommend this place to all my friends! The cabin itself was perfect for a weekend getaway having all the essentials needed and some nice extras like the hot tub and sauna. The area was incredibly beautiful and close to a cute little town. Despite some travel issues, we were met with kindness and flexibility, which show how amazing they were at hosting! We also got some very good local recommendations :) we’ll definitely be back!

We had a great stay at Triple Creek! The view from the campsite is stunning and so peaceful and quiet. Stephen was communicative and very sweet when we arrived, and then gave us full privacy after check-in. Like other campers have mentioned, there is a considerable uphill walk to the campsite …a cart is a must, but it’s still quite a workout getting a cart up and your gear up there. We were there late October and the ticks were bad (mostly on the walk up/down)- we planned for it with long pants, boots, tick spray etc and were fine though. There’s a great brewery about a mile down the road and tons of really cool hiking very close to the campsite - we recommend hiking the West Kill Summit along Devil’s Path. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely recommend this site to other (prepared) campers!

Great place to camp with great views of the lake. Farm animals on the property are friendly and very cute. We got to bottle feed a baby calf and hand feed other farm animals, lots of fun. This place is amazing, it’s the only HipCamp site I have ever gone back to more than once. Three trips so far and plan to go back. The animals are very docile, the hosts are as friendly as can be but give you your space. Plenty of room to spread out. Generous amount of wood on site for the $$$.

Mark is an amazing host, along with his wife and dog. They were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, shuttled our bags to and from the site on check-in/check-out, provided us with plenty of firewood for the weekend, and lent us their canoe to take out on the private lake. The tent is located on the far side of the lake (away from the road) with a stunning view of autumn foliage reflected off the water. It feels very remote and peaceful with only sounds from the surrounding forest and beautiful view of the stars on a clear night. The tent and fire circle are kept very clean with a heater provided inside the tent that keeps it very warm. It was the perfect setting for a romantic weekend having just proposed to my fiancée. Overall, I would recommend this property very highly and hope to be back for another stay soon!
