For generations, the majestic waterfall has been revered for its spectacular beauty. It’s considered a sacred site central to local land rematriation work with the Kanienkeha:ka. Coursing between two outcroppings in a deep ravine, the waterfall crashes down over mossy rock shelves into emerald swimming holes and through dramatic clay beds. It’s one of those extraordinary spots on earth that make you feel like you’re in another world. The sites aren’t suitable for parties or loud groups. It's about a 10 minute hike to the waterfall where you can spend the day swimming, exploring the clay beds and looking for fossils in the 280 million year old gorge. In the evening, make a campfire and fall asleep under the stars listening to the river below. The hike is steep and appropriate footwear is required. All hiking is at your own risk. Although your path to the waterfall is private and the waterfall is on private property, there may be other guests or locals that access the waterfall further down the road. There is no glass or alcohol allowed at the falls. Be aware that you may hear your camping neighbors in the woods. For this reason, we ask that you don’t play amplified music and keep noise down after 10pm to enjoy the sounds of frogs, crickets, owls, and night songs of the countryside At the entrance to the campsites there is a barn community room with a charging station, cold water sink, fridge, coffee maker, cookware, and a port-a-potty. The Schoharie Valley is said to be the most fertile valley east of the Mississippi. It is still wild, unspoiled country and there are many local farms stands with fresh produce and organic meat close by. Within a 5 miles radius is a general store, Scrumpy Ewe Cidery, Panther Creek Arts, Rooted Movement, the Sap Bush Country Store and Café, and Mustang Valley (a wild mustang sanctuary). We are 107 acres of forest, a 9 acre lake, ponds, creeks, labyrinth, a Holistic Retreat Center & Organic Permaculture Farm at a 2000 foot elevation in the Heldeberg Mountains. 500 million years ago during the Devonian Period this was a sea, so we live in shale based mountains with lots of fossils! The Heldebergs are one of the oldest mountain ranges on earth, these mountains have been worn down to 2000 feet over time. Native Americans lived in the area many years ago and we are quite sure this was Native American sacred ceremony land. Hiking, canoeing, swimming and fishing (catch & release only) are available on site. There are many places to hike in the area, an Eagle Trail and in winter, 2 miles away, is a Nature Preserve that rents snowshoes and has trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing, Very rural and private, even though we are only 25 miles SW of Albany, NY the capital of NYS, here it is quiet and peaceful. We do have 3 very friendly dogs that will want to be your best friends. Also farm animals that you can meet. There will be farm noises, roosters greeting the morning and various grunts and snorts... far less noise than any modern city. Albany, along with the surrounding areas, have many events etc going on. There's hiking, biking, nature parks, horse racing, concerts, festivals and events and so much more. We have a very nice walk right from the tent sites, on our dirt road. Its a 3 mile loop. If you want to bicycle on the dirt road, a mountain bike is recommended. Of course you are welcome to stay put! Sit, read, meditate, sleep, do yoga or other mind/body practices on our open-air yoga platform, Nandi Yoga Pavilion. It was a cinderblock extension of the cow barn. We took it down and used the foundation for the pavilion.

A great spot to come and camp high up on a hill. Pitch a tent and enjoy the solitude of camping in the middle of a hay field, under a huge oak tree. In the middle of farm country. From time to time you may smell a little cow smell or hear/see a tractor drive past. However, there is nothing greater than the smell of fresh cut hay in the summer breeze. Deer graze in the fields surrounding the house. Any extra tents set up will be $60 per night per tent.

Beautiful views! Cozy tent! Hiking trails and pond! Had a great time exploring the property and enjoying nature with the family! Be prepared for a sunny campsite and short uphill walk from the parking area. All your basic needs are met at the site to allow you to pack light.

Liza and Dan have a really special little spot and it was a lovely stay. The camper was very cute, cozy, and full of everything you need and nothing you don't. We arrived just as the sun was starting to set and all the birds of the farm started to congregate, it was a delightful parade to catch. Amazing place! So incredibly secluded..one might say it’s even clothing optional ;-) Between the expanse of land to explore, the gorgeous pond to swim in every day, and the blackberries/blueberries to pick, it was truly a magical time! It had all of the necessary amenities for a sweet glamping experience- AND THE SHOWER!! The outdoor shower with the forest view was supreme! Loved it. Will definitely be back :)

We stayed at the RV and it was great. Comfortable, the site was nice, RV was clean, enough space for our group of 12 with an additional tent. We had a few neighbors but enough distance to keep it pretty private.. The night view of the stars was incredible and the nearby hike at Kaaterskills falls.

The site was so beautiful. The water was pristine! Quiet. It was everything we wanted. The layout with the other tents is crazy! I wish my daughters wanted to go! It was like a tent town! Thankful that they can't be rented out while we were there. Provides the privacy and stillness we prefer. The wagon accommodation is key. Electric in the tent was very helpful for my old phone and keeping the music going. Highly recommend! Maybe next year I can convince the family to come! Lol

A little coffee in the morning with FRESH MILK provided by Jan from their farm. Absolutely delicious to enjoy a coffee with fresh cow's milk in the morning.

The wildflower cabin was clean and comfortable. The site was completely private and we only had neighbors the first night but barely heard them. The site had everything we needed. We stayed in the Starlight Cabin and it was incredible! The waterfall is such a beautiful place, the cabin is awesome (the bed is so comfortable), the stars were BEAUTIFUL, and Amy was a wonderful, super responsive host. If you are between a few places, trust me, pick this one!

A beautiful, private retreat that is well-kept and inviting. We mostly go camping for Henry … Monica’s site is Henry approved. Oh, the private waterfall with the cleanest water, providing white noise capabilities at all times? 10/10. It was just us two & the pup occupying the main tent, but I can see how this would be an amazing option for a group of friends. Thank you!
