Andyland

1 site · RV, Tent25 acres · Theresa, Jefferson
Ruins of 19th century barn confirm this land has been drawing people in for a very long time. A unique rock outcrop stands alone in the field over 25 feet high and is ideal for stargazing watching nature, and sitting by the fire amongst other activities. A path of approx. 2.3 miles loops around the woods and back to thr entrance. A steel wagon tire in the woods is evidence of the longtime use of the fields. Common practice for the first settlers was to burn the woods, sell the ash or potash and fund the home construction. Mutton was common then to let grade the fields which developed.Learn more about this land:Fishing hub with The Indian River lake system. Also close to the thousand islands and Alexandria Bay. Hike back to the woods if you desire something private and remote. Seasonal streams and rock outcrops make the terrain interesting.

Dandelion Homestead

4 sites · Tents52 acres · Natural Bridge, Jefferson
Dandelion Homestead is a beautiful wooded farm in the Adirondack foothills. We consider ourselves stewards of our land, and thus draw from permaculture, regenerative agriculture, and other natural farming methods to rebuild soil and ecosystem health, raise delicious food and happy animals. We have a rabbit colony, a couple horses, and a family of miniature donkeys too! We're happy to give you a tour and introduction to them. You'll love seeing our historic bank barn, and Momma Donk is guaranteed to win you over with her love of ear scratches. We offer primitive tent campsites. No electric or toilets are available at this time. However, we can offer a number of services and rentals, including all of the camping gear you could need. Want the fun of camping without the half day spent setting up? Let us know, we'll have a tent ready and waiting with cots, camp kitchen and supplies ready to go! Most of the property is woods (pine plantation and natural hard wood forest) crisscrossed by park like trails. You can count on finding some peace and solitude if that is what you desire. Also, there are many state parks, preserves, lakes, rivers and other enjoyable attractions nearby. Our hilltop campsite is a dark site, and you can get a wonderful, clear view of the stars! Nearby Attractions include: - Baker Woods Preserve - Turning Point Park - New York Zoo - Numerous Adirondacks parks, hikes and peaks - within day trip distance of the Thousand Islands and the Wild Center! Note that this property is near Fort Drum, so sometimes you can hear their munitions practice in the distance.

Della Terra Retreat

4 sites · TentsCastorland, Lewis
Rustic remnants of aged farm equipment mark the history of this property. A small, stone-formed wall segments parts of the woodland, creating imagery of how the landscape was used in the past. Now the land is used for a small organic farm endeavor. Our vision is to incubate and foster the innate connection that humanity has with nature, providing an environment that detaches individuals from the fast paced humdrum of a world filled with distractions. Learn more about this land:My wife and I moved to North Country New York, after living in NYC. We started a small-scale, bio-intensive farm in 2017. Depending on the season of your trip, you will be able to experience our farm operations, and reap the benefits of the harvest. We have 5.25 acres of land, which is 3 acres woodland, and about 2.25 acres of open meadow. There are multiple sites to pitch a tent in the woods. There are areas that I am designating for small cabin structures, which will be built this year. We could accommodate a small RV, or pop-up camper.  We also have a 12'x24' cabin. There is a small oven and a propane grill for cooking. There is solar power, which provides electricity needs. We use Luci Lamps for lighting. They are inflatable, solar-powered lights, made by Mpowerd. Overall, our property is nestled in a very rustic/rural enclave. The property is on a road that is 5 miles long, which only has about 18 houses on it. I find the environment to be extremely serene and rejuvenating.
