Our cabin is tucked away, bordered by NYS Forever Wild land to the south and west and few neighbors to the north and east. Built by a local doctor in 1924, this cabin was his family's summer home. He was also a talented watercolor painter and his original work is displayed throughout. We are only the third owners and we have been enjoying the cabin since the 80's. In the last 30 years we have introduced some creature comforts (hot/cold water, electricity) while maintaining its original charm. In a time where it is so hard to disconnect from the world, we offer a comfy bed, fresh air, starry nights, a fire and no cell service at the cabin. Learn more about this land: Come, sit back, disconnect and relax in our unique cabin in the Adirondack Park. Our 100-year-old cabin comfortably sleeps seven. There are two small private bedrooms: one with a queen and the second with a full bed. The third room is open to the living room and features a bunk bed. Linens, blankets and towels are provided. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware, a full-sized stove, refrigerator, microwave and farmhouse sink with hot and cold running water. The bathroom has a flush toilet, sink and tub with handheld shower. There is a pellet stove (pellets provided) in our kitchen/dining area and a wood stove (wood provided) in the living room. Both bedrooms have thermostat controlled electric heat. The cabin is a true escape: no internet, no telephone and hit or (mostly) miss cell service. There is electricity if you need to recharge a device and there is a great sound system to Bluetooth your tunes. Built by Dr. James Cormier in 1924, our cabin became a summer getaway for his family. He was also an artist and his original watercolors still adorn its walls. We are only the third owners in nearly 100 years and we have been building cherished memories there for decades. We have made improvements to the property while retaining its charm. There is one P/T neighbor who shares our driveway but the property provides privacy. We are adjacent to a NYS Forest Preserve and surrounded by woods. The cabin is a short drive from Lake Placid and Saranac Lake and close to hiking the Adirondacks, canoeing in the St. Regis Canoe Area, close to the Six Nations Indian Museum and an easy drive to the Visitors Interpretive Center at Paul Smith’s College. For the water and fishing enthusiast a 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk brings you to the North Branch of the Saranac River, Rainbow Lake and Lake Kushaqua. Local fishing, and hunting opportunities abound. The cabin’s location also offers history buffs a chance to explore the impact of tuberculosis sanatoriums which served patients from the big cities in the early 20th century. Sites are available to explore within walking distance and a small museum in Saranac Lake is worth the trip. Lastly, there is a cool antique store within a few miles whose owner is always available for conversation about the area. After a day of ADK fun, you can kick back around the fire ring (outdoor burning wood supplied) and take in the stars. The camp was first built in 1905 by Dr. Goldsmith and family. The doctor and his family used the camp for summer vacations. During the winter the camp was rented out as winter hotel for loggers. Ice was harvested from the pond and stored in what is now one of the cabins. When our family bought the place, the hotel was falling down and the buildings were in disrepair. Geoffrey, the family caretaker, has spent the last few years cleaning up the site. All that remains now of the hotel is the chimney while the ice house has become a cabin and has been improved and ready for visitors. We have a double futon, small wood stove and gas burners for a cozy indoor experience. With 840 ft of pond frontage and 4.4 acres you can pitch a tent on the banks of the pond, up in the woods, or stay in the small cabin all are included in the cost of booking! Swimming and boating in the pond is obligatory. Year round fishing has long been a tradition. The spring fed pond is home to large and small mouth bass, northern pike, crappy, and blue gills. There are a number of ponds and state lands nearby. Accommodations include two outhouses and two docks so no waiting. There is a canoe and rowboat available and life jackets. The camp is car accessible Mid-May to the end of September. There are summer cottages across the pond but not much happening on our side. Cedar Lodge, the nearest bar/restaurant, is about 5 minutes away and very popular all year round. The closest gas station and convenience store is about 20 minutes in the village of Parishville.

This off-the-grid tiny house is nestled on a 23 acre parcel at the end of a quarter-mile dirt road. The property itself is secluded but is less than 2 miles from the heart of Saranac Lake's downtown. This property is bordered by the Saranac River, the backside of Baker Mountain and State Forest. The only other building on the property is our timberframe which we may or may not be at during the time of your visit. The property does have private trails up to the cliffs on the backside of Baker mtn however, the Saranac River is down a steep embankment so it does not make for a good place to launch a boat (several public boat launches nearby). The Mt Baker tiny house is a great basecamp for hiking the Saranac Lake 6-ers, paddling/boating along the Saranac Chain of lakes or Saranac River, Mountain Biking at Dewey, Pisgah or other nearby BETA trails. Other things to note This stay is located in a small park in a small town in the Adirondack Coast. *Within 20 miles you will find, bike/walking trails, some mountain climbing, wineries, beaches, gyms, trails for winter riding, and some larger shopping stores. *You will need to travel up to an hour if you want amusement parks, lots of shopping, nightlife etc. *Please ask if you have any questions about certain activities etc. nearby and we will be sure to help answer your questions! This unit offers plenty of sleeping room (6 beds/ sleeps up to 11)and space to move around! Located in a small quiet park that's only steps from the water where you'll find a rocky beach, beautiful clean water for swimming or a dock to fish off of. We have a grill, outdoor kitchenette and a gorgeous fire pit for your outdoor enjoyment! The space This home is approximately 380 square feet of living space with an attached porch. It has room for 2 cars or a truck and a boat. It has a grill and the firepit in the front yard on the gorgeous patio with the best view of the lake!! This unit is a 2 bedroom unit with a king in one bedroom and a twin over a pull out full size futon bed. It has a loft that fits 2 adults, a table that can be turned into a bed and a pull out futon bed in the living room. Guest access You will be able to use the area directly in front of your stay. You are also welcome to use the area in the middle of the front lawn of the park for games. Feel free to use the lake and our rocky beach directly in front of the park and down the hill. Other things to note This stay is located in a small park in a small town in the Adirondack Coast. *Within 20 miles you will find, bike/walking trails, some mountain climbing, wineries, beaches, gyms, trails for winter riding, and some larger shopping stores. *You will need to travel up to an hour if you want amusement parks, lots of shopping, nightlife etc. *Please ask if you have any questions about certain activities etc. nearby and we will be sure to help answer your questions! If you're looking for a small town getaway to enjoy outdoor activities or just relax we are just what you're looking for! *Part of living in the country is that you may also get a visit from occasional spiders, earwigs or flies. (Although we do our best to spray regularly so this does not happen) Please let us know if you have any problems. *Our water is tested regularly and is safe to drink but it is also hard water with some iron. We do have a filter system but you may occasionally notice some particles when using ice or drinking water but this is safe.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sara & Matt’s cabin! It’s tucked away in the woods and feels private, but it’s still close to downtown Saranac Lake (4 min drive). Make sure you follow the directions provided, Google Maps wanted to bring us the wrong way (do not turn left down Ledge Lane). There are little HipCamp logo signs that help guide the way at the end of the Saranac Lane when it turns to dirt. The cabin was very clean and inviting. It was cold the first night as the cabin is not insulted or have heat, but between the blankets they provide and the blankets we brought we were comfy. Really appreciated having drinking water provided! We will definitely be booking a return trip to this cabin in the future!

Lots of privacy despite being less than 5 minutes from down town Saranac Lake! The cabin is a great middle ground camping experience- no plumbing or electric but you still get the creature comforts of a bed. The blankets provided kept us warm despite low temps in the 40s. Only downside is the solar shower does not heat up when there’s no sun, but we made it work.

My husband and I stayed in Sara and Matt's tiny house the night after our wedding for some relaxation in the woods. It was truly an amazing place to stay that was beautifully crafted and VERY comfortable. The house is minutes from town where we had amazing meals at Blue Moon Cafe and Campfire and did some fabulous shopping. We enjoyed coffee on their porch and while we didn't get a chance to use the fire pit, it is very quaint and picturesque. Their outhouse is also very well crafted and thoughtfully stocked. Thank you for the wonderful stay to start our married life! We can't wait to visit again!

I might have stayed up later had I built a fire, but I was perfectly happy climbing into bed not long after the sun went down. The local books & having plenty of blankets made it super cozy.

We loved our stay at this little cabin. It is well equipped and cozy. We enjoyed nice nights on the porch with the chiminea, cooked out on the grill and used the fire place for chilly mornings. The kitchen is well equipped and once you get used to the rain water for cleaning and spring water for drinking and cooking it’s pretty straightforward. The canoe availability with all the accessories to load it on your car to explore local lakes and ponds is an amazing amenity. The location is also great to explore the Adirondacks. From there we were able to canoe and fish, hike the Paul Smith’s VIC, have nice meals and swim in Saranac Lake, Zip-line in Lake Placid and, of course, sample the daily ice cream flavor at Donnelly’s. All this in just 3 days with the cabin’s great location. We would definitely stay here again when back in the Adirondacks region.

My husband, 2 dogs, and I had a fantastic time at this property on Sterling Pond!! It really is secluded and private, with only a couple waves to people passing on boat. My older dog who has never been able to be trusted off leash was even able to just drag her leash around because the space was so big and peaceful!! I am usually distrustful of cabins that hang out somewhat unoccupied in the woods (bugs and small animals housing usually), even brought a tent for back up, but the cabin was SO clean and beautiful. Perfect for our small little family and we felt safe and comfortable hanging out and sleeping in there. You can tell Tedra and Geoff love and care for the property a lot, as well as the people staying there. When we arrived the windows of the cabin were opened so the breeze had a chance to cool the inside which was much appreciated!! We printed driving directions to Catamount Mountain ahead of time which was a beautiful short hike. My husband was in fishing paradise! Fishing right off the dock or in the rowboat available, they wouldn’t stop biting! They also had a book there that helped us identify what fish he was catching! You are definitely off grid at this place which was a really nice break for my husband and I whose phones are usually going off nonstop. Can’t say enough nice things. If you’re looking for a fishing paradise, dog paradise, peace and quiet, and don’t mind a few bugs, this is the place to be. 10/10 recommend.

Dix cabin is great! I would definitely go back again. It’s very secluded (about a mile off-road), far away from other sites- so very private, and had everything necessary for one or two people. It’s a nice bonus that you have access to all the campground facilities (including boats for the lake). The camp caretaker was also very friendly and helpful.
