This was built as a personal vacation retreat and we gladly share it now with adventurers and romantics! 40 Private Acres - Fire-pits, comfortable outdoor furniture, and plenty of room to roam will make this unique stay memorable, relaxing, with absolute privacy with stunning views.
The bespoke wooden Tower boasts 360 degree views of the surroundings. It is built on piers and has windows on the perimeter. A large table, outdoor chairs on the 2nd Level platform is an ideal space for gathering or picnicking. The 3rd enclosed level is furnished with a built in brand new queen bed and long custom built-in couch with a bar table and 4 chairs. Small fridge and Fan on site. No Bathroom in Tower.
The Cabin is fully equipped, applianced, and is furnished with a Full Bed in the Loft, 2 Twins in a Trundle Daybed, and a Cot and Blow Up are available. Full Kitchen, Shower, Toilet in the Bathroom. There is electric heat, AC and a ceiling fan. Kitchen is fully loaded and there are plenty of clean linens, blankets, and pillows.
The 40 Acres are Pastured and Open but Wooded all around in every direction. There are no cut trails at the Retreat and as it is thickly wooded, we encourage our guests to come visit us at Slateville Farm where we have over 8 miles of our own trails, swimming holes, and our ever flowing cold spring. Enjoy any of the many national park trails within the Green Mountains or Adirondacks. Lake George, Merck Forest, Schroon Lake, Lake St. Catherine, Bomoseen are all nearby as well as the Battenkill River and the Mettowee for fishing. If you are a winter visitor, plenty of ski resorts are a little over an hour away like Stratton, Bromely, Okemo, or Killington to name a few.
Come by and visit us down the road at Slateville Farm to enjoy our fresh produce/eggs, over 8 miles of private hiking trails, and numerous swimming holes. Firewood Pre-purchase Delivery Available!

Slate Valley Trails and Merck Forest are close by. Places to picnic, enjoy the sunset, and idle are a plenty. Our farm stand is stocked with seasonal produce, jams, eggs, and bagged ice. Spring water is available. Excellent locally burgers, steaks, chicken and more are available as pre-order EXTRAS.

Rustic and Comfortable Cabins. No power lines cross our property. We have no blaring screens to distract us from the sound of the wind in the leaves or to call us back to the whirl of modern life. But that does not mean we are without any comforts.
Each cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, hot and cold running spring water, indoor bathroom, and overhead LP gas lamps. Nestled in the forest at meadow's edge, Cold Spring Cabin has an outdoor shower and indoor tub. Perched on a hill near the Farm Pond, Ripley Hill Cabin has an indoor shower and tub.
The cabins are rustic, but clean and airy. This was built as a personal vacation retreat and we gladly share it now with adventurers and romantics! 40 Private Acres - Fire-pits, comfortable outdoor furniture, and plenty of room to roam will make this unique stay memorable, relaxing, with absolute privacy with stunning views.
The bespoke wooden Tower boasts 360 degree views of the surroundings. It is built on piers and has windows on the perimeter. A large table, outdoor chairs on the 2nd Level platform is an ideal space for gathering or picnicking. The 3rd enclosed level is furnished with a built in brand new queen bed and long custom built-in couch with a bar table and 4 chairs. Small fridge and Fan on site. No Bathroom in Tower.
The Cabin is fully equipped, applianced, and is furnished with a Full Bed in the Loft, 2 Twins in a Trundle Daybed, and a Cot and Blow Up are available. Full Kitchen, Shower, Toilet in the Bathroom. There is electric heat, AC and a ceiling fan. Kitchen is fully loaded and there are plenty of clean linens, blankets, and pillows.
The 40 Acres are Pastured and Open but Wooded all around in every direction. There are no cut trails at the Retreat and as it is thickly wooded, we encourage our guests to come visit us at Slateville Farm where we have over 8 miles of our own trails, swimming holes, and our ever flowing cold spring. Enjoy any of the many national park trails within the Green Mountains or Adirondacks. Lake George, Merck Forest, Schroon Lake, Lake St. Catherine, Bomoseen are all nearby as well as the Battenkill River and the Mettowee for fishing. If you are a winter visitor, plenty of ski resorts are a little over an hour away like Stratton, Bromely, Okemo, or Killington to name a few.
Come by and visit us down the road at Slateville Farm to enjoy our fresh produce/eggs, over 8 miles of private hiking trails, and numerous swimming holes. Firewood Pre-purchase Delivery Available!

Slate Valley Trails and Merck Forest are close by. Places to picnic, enjoy the sunset, and idle are a plenty. Our farm stand is stocked with seasonal produce, jams, eggs, and bagged ice. My family (7 year old daughter, husband and dog) had the most wonderful time tent camping at the Hops site on Heather and Paul's beautiful farm. It's such a special, expansive place with so many cool spots to hike to within the farm that we didn't feel like we needed to leave the property. We loved the peace and privacy of the Hops site but next time we'd like to try to Oak tree site which has stunning views. My daughter loved drinking directly from the spring behind Heather's house, and visiting the pergola near dusk. The highland cows against the backdrop of rolling hills and the beautiful slate structures look like paintings. I'd definitely recommend taking the tour of the property to orient yourself. Heather is a lovely person and a knowledgeable and engaging host.

This campground is easy to park with a convenient bathroom and showers that are fairly clean. Toilets were cleaned both mornings. The last shower stall is large enough to get clothes away from shower area. The shower heads are intelligently placed facing toward the back wall and there was plenty of hot water. The washer and dryer are reasonably priced. We were there late in the season and they were doing some work with chain saws. Perhaps in preparation for the next season. Absolutely no managerial people spoke to us and the office was closed when we arrived. We just went to our reserved site.

Weekend Trip to Forest Echo Cabins
Cabin was private, cozy, and had everything we needed! Scott & Rose made everything super easy and welcoming. A hot bath in the morning followed by canoeing on Tiny Pond, a drive out to Woodstock, and stargazing in the meadow at night was an unbeatable experience. We had a lovely camping trip! Couldn’t recommend more.

We had a fantastic time here. The property is sprawling and beautiful, and the Hops site had great amenities—ample firewood on request, a great firepit and chairs, and a clean outhouse. Heather was an excellent host, ensuring we had everything we might need for our stay. Highly recommended!

4 nights at Forest Echo Cabins
Our second time here and once again we had the BEST time! It is so peaceful and quiet. The cabin is stocked with everything you need and way more. We loved the bathroom remodel. We went during a drought but was provided with plenty of water to use (we also brought our own for backup) we loved sitting in front of the fireplace at night reading and doing puzzles. We enjoyed nights around the campfire and cooking dinner. The bed is very comfortable and the brown couch is perfect for naps. Being October we didn’t sleep on the porch bed but I can imagine how nice it is in the summer. Porch swing view sunrise is beautiful. Love taking a walk down to tiny pond and enjoy the use of the kayaks. Can’t wait to come back next year and bring our kids to experience this beautiful place. Scott and Rose are so welcoming and there for anything if needed. Thank you for this amazing place!

Excellent location, so close to Saratoga Springs and Utica.
We enjoyed the cozy campsite, with 30 amp service, water and sewer.
Site also has toilets and showers.
Matt was a great host and keeps the place in good shape.

Stayed at the Oak Tree Site on Heather’s land and I can’t recommend it enough! The site the peaceful, secluded, and on the opposite side of the road and up the hill away from the main farmhouse and other sites. The site had a picnic table, fire pit, a grate to cook over the fire, a charcoal grill, and an outhouse. The site is an open area with a beautiful view of the Milky Way on a clear night. Make sure you’re driving a 4x4 vehicle up to the site - bit of a climb. Heather is a lovely host and is available for any questions or recommendations - lovely hiking trails onsite (go sit at the quarry!)

Amazing experience! The owl site felt very secluded, and it was fun to explore trails and the beautiful land. We heard the owls every night during our stay but couldn’t spot them:) Our pups swam in the leaf piles and the quarry, and kitty enjoyed overlooking the site on the picnic table. Everyone had a wonderful time.
We arrived after dark due to traffic delays but Heather still welcomed us in person and lead us to the site. The farm stand is cute, and the shower really helpful for our slightly longer stay (4 days). Can’t wait to come back soon.

Heather provided us with the perfect getaway weekend! Her farm is so beautiful and she is a wonderful hostess! The Hops site was very private and peaceful. The outdoor seating and firepit made it so easy to relax and enjoy the fall evenings. The hiking trails that they have made are great to explore. We also took advantage of the outdoor shower which was such a nice experience. Even the outhouse was comfortable and meticulously maintained, and this is coming from someone who normally tries to avoid them. Last and certainly not least, we are still enjoying some of the home-grown/homemade treats from her farm stand, and cannot wait to return to Slateville. Thank you to Heather and Paul for such a great weekend!

Very cool spot. Do be advised that they have weddings and events until 10:00 pm, so there is a bit of noise and music, but nothing too disturbing. Very friendly welcome, free firewood. I got to pitch my tent on a well built platform, which helped reduce the September chill.

Highly recommend Lake Lauderdale Campground!
The owner was so kind - he even waited for us when we arrived late to make sure we knew where to park and to answer any questions.
The place is magical, quiet, and absolutely beautiful. Waking up to that view in the morning was such a treat!
Of course, there are full hookups (electricity, water, and dump).
We had an amazing experience here and truly hope to come back in the future!

We had a wonderful long weekend at Ripley Hill Cabin. The property and surrounding areas are beautiful. The caretaker we met, Scott, was helpful and informative on what the area has to offer for hiking, swimming, and fishing. The cabin is private, peaceful, with great star gazing at night. The cabin is large, with plenty of space to not be on top of each other with a large group. It was clean and very well stocked. We can't wait to come back next year!

Me and my wife had a fantastic weekend. The tent is comfortable, the campsite was private, and the on-site amenities were perfect.
This was also our two dogs first time camping and it couldn't have gone better. We'll be checking out the site again next year!

Very beautiful property!! The stars were amazing, there’s a fire pit and picnic table at each site, and there is a porta potty or bathrooms you can go to that are super clean. I would stay here again.
