While there is still a partial view of the house through this area, the fencing and landscaping significantly reduce visibility and help create a more secluded and peaceful camping space. We’re continually working to improve the natural screening for your comfort and privacy.

There are several campsites as well as a cozy bed in a cabin that you can stay in. The property used to be an orchard, until most was sold and converted to housing developments. My one acre and a few old cherry trees remains.
Both the camping areas and the cabin are in sight of my house. But, there are plenty of areas to choose from. I can supply a fire ring and logs to burn if you are interested. Dogs allowed, as long as they get along with and don’t chase other animals. You must be animal friendly! I have a dog, two indoor/outdoor cats, and chickens.

Large secluded campsite bordering the Hemlock-Canadice State Forest above beautiful Hemlock Lake in the Western Finger Lakes Region of NYS. Hemlock Lake is a pristine and undeveloped body of water, about a half hour south of Rochester NY. Explore the 6,684 acre State Forest and surrounding natural areas and parks. Hemlock Lake is managed by the NYS DEC and City of Rochester Water Dept. and allows small boats, kayaks, canoes, ect. (no swimming). There are many great hiking trails, back roads for biking and walking, farms, breweries, wineries, restaurants, shops, antique stores ect, within minutes of the property.

Lose yourself here, or maybe find yourself, among the Hemlocks. First, a bit about the terrain. There is much in the way of forest, very mature, and a broad array of plant species.
Elevation differences are vast, land to the west is uphill for quite a ways, and downhill to the east, to Hemlock lake below, so the world here can feel a bit tilted.
We adjoin 150 acres of nature conservancy lands that nobody seems to know about. These lands are for respectful public daytime use. We also adjoin 6600 acres of NY state forest which is public property. Exploring all that is here would take a very long time! Want to get away? Welcome to our little slice of heaven.

Wood Spring is a private members only rustic camping club. Hipcampers have access to all 52 acres including our pond, meadow, Little Buffalo Creek, and our hiking trails.
You’ll get a gate combination after confirming your stay. Enter through the gate on our one lane road, cross the shallow creek and end at our large open meadow. If the creek is ever too high to cross, park in the grassy area and walk across foot bridge.

Located on a small homestead farm with free range chickens, ducks, cantankerous geese, as well as dwarf goats, honey bees and a blind dog--so please drive slowly. Farm encompasses a mature hardwood forest, large organic vegetable garden, pollinator gardens, plant nursery, fruit and nut trees and shrubs. A diverse population of wild birds visit and nest here, including our summer pond resident green heron. A creek with waterfall runs through the property. Cabin is on the edge of a tree-lined pond. Host will meet with you upon arrival to give overview of land layout. We live and work here, but will respect your privacy and space. We ask that you please do the same, which includes all the living inhabitants here.
We are in farm country, so at times there may be tractors, manure spreading, mowing, etc. in nearby fields. Also, the frogs make quite a ruckus on the pond in the evening.

Come and kick back on a log or in the tree house or even cool your feet in the pond. There is 80 acres for you to pick the right spot for you. We are a hunting family so in woods areas are off limits during hunting season (Oct. – Early Dec.), but we have beautiful closer by camping areas during that season. We are sure you won’t be disappointed. We are within minutes from MANY state parks including the GRAND CANYON OF THE EAST – Letchworth State Park.
During Feb and March, we will be busy making MAPLE SYRUP! Weekend Trip to Overgrown Ridge Camp By Letchworth
My girlfriend and I went here for Valentines Day. We went to letchworth state park before hand and saw the waterfalls and walked around the available paths that weren’t closed off in the winter. The site is about 20 minutes away. The driveway was easy to find and plenty of space to park and unpack. Jalin left us a wagon to put our stuff in and walk the plowed path to the tent. The tent is very secluded and private and quite cozy inside. It’s very clean and tidy inside. The chocolate chip cookies he left were delicious. The bed was quite comfortable and we stayed warm from the wood stove and the blankets provided even though it was below frozen outside the tent. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend to anyone visiting in the letchworth area.

This was a really fun stay in a well-equipped tent. The bed was super comfortable with pillows and extra linens provided. The dresser had some cooking utensils and the hosts even provided pour over coffee and cookies! The wood stove helped keep the cold away (in the teens at night) and they even got it going before we arrived and dropped off 5 gallons of water. Having solar power and lights was really great. Probably the nicest outhouse I've ever been in. Jalin was really nice and very accommodating having plowed the snow on the trail back to the tent (about 150 yards). We snowshoed on the trails and took our dogs out in the snow. They loved and so did we!

Beautiful property and so convenient to not have to put up my own tent. The tent is wonderful equipped with a wood burning stove. I camped on a reeeealllly cold & windy night so it was nice to have my Mr. Buddy heater to supplement in the middle of the night when I didn’t feel like tending to the fire. I didn’t have time to explore the other paths and I’m so bummed because it looked like an amazing place to frolick! If you are a star gazer, this is your place! The hosts were so amazing and very accommodating. I appreciated the fire!

Weekend Trip to Overgrown Ridge Camp By Letchworth
The site is tucked back in hidden from everything but a field. The tent is great and the wood stove worked wonderfully once we remembered how vents work. The bed was quite comfortable but pick your side wisely if you are over 6 ft.
The outhouse seems brand new and the short trails around the property are a nice morning walk.
We were comfortably warm in the 30s, except for when I let the fire go out. Will definitely be stopping by again when it warms back up.

Beautiful site and host very communicative. The only “set back” is that once you’re on the property, the grass road to get to the site is a bit narrow so some of the branches from the growth to the sides of us scratched our cars a bit. Outside of that, it was just what we needed to get a way for a little bit. Great view of the stars on a clear night if you walk a little up from the site to the small open area.
