Secluded site, private feel and yet also close to stores. Lots of mosquitoes and very muddy, so wasn't able to explore much.

Beautiful property and location. We weren’t able to check out as much as we wanted with the mud and downed trees. No fault of the owner, there had been 40+ mph winds and downpours a few days prior to my arrival. I would really enjoy coming back in late spring or early summer when everything is in full bloom and the trails are dried up. Debra, the host is very responsive and answers any questions you may have. I would recommend this place 100% and will be back for sure.

The location was amazing - very secluded and private, yet close to town. Debra, the host, was easy to communicate with and very helpful. We are looking forward to booking here again next camping season. Unfortunately we were not able to stay due to an unforeseen family emergency that happened 5 minutes after we arrived.

Overall we had a great experience. We were only there in the evening/nighttime since we were in the area to attend our daughter’s cross-country event. We didn’t even get to see the canal this time. The space was great for our dogs! The picnic table and fire ring looked great, but it was rainy both evenings so we didn’t get to build that fire. I’d like to visit again when we have more time to explore.

It was a bit difficult to find in the dark, but the property was beautiful and very secluded. I felt safe and would recommend this site to others! Enjoyed exploring the trails in the morning before leaving.

Incredible spot for us with a perfect balance of isolation while also still being close to civilization if anything is needed. Debra was responsive to every message and question and gives very clear instructions on how to find the property. Will definitely be staying here again when in the area.

The site was a very nice layout, very private privateand well manintained, there was a picnic table and fire pit available.
Unfortunately we left less than 10 minutes from arriving due to the swarms of mosquitos at no fault of the host.
The host communicated very well!
Id stay again in a less wet time of year to try and avoid biting insects.

We made a short notice booking hoping for a few days somewhere quiet for the weekend close to the Southtowns. Debra responded immediately to my request giving all the details we needed. The site itself is down a narrow slightly twisty track about 150 yards long. We had small tear drop trailers so no problems and I reckon you could get a smaller travel trailer in ther without too many issues. It was raining heavilly all weekend we had no problem with 2WD car.
The site is very private, a little traffic noise sometimes and the odd dog barking for a few minutes but other than that private and peacefull. Site has firepits, wooden benches and a pit toilet nearby. Trails take you into stunning natural woods but we were beaten back by bugs before getting to the canal (Forgot the bug spray!!!)
Debra was very communicative and her aerial shot of the site is worth studying.
However the best part of the site may be its proximity to a fine ice cream shop a mile up the road!
We will definitely go again with our kayaks. Thank you!

Great site, very secluded. Unfortunately it rained our whole time there, (never trust Apple weather!) but we still had a good time. There were several fire pits available and 2 picnic tables. Multiple trails right off the site, although we did not get to use them as much as I had hoped due to rain. No complaints overall

What a great spot for camping! We held my 12yr old's birthday party here and the site was really great. The kids had a blast exploring the many trails and fishing at the canal. It was a bit muddy along the trails due to heavy rain the day prior, but the main clearing area for tents and the firepit area were in great condition. Loved that we could bring our two dogs too, they had the time of their lives! Very secluded, large property with mature trees. Would definitely return.

We had a wonderful time camping on Debra’s land for the eclipse! Plenty of space, beautiful forest with lots of firewood to collect and interesting paths to explore, and a feeling of remoteness without the isolation of the actual backcountry so we could easily stop by Walmart for the things we forgot 😅. Unfortunately the landowners had disconnected the well pump because it was too cold, so we had to bring our own water; however if you visit in warmer seasons I’m sure this won’t be an issue. Overall experience: 9/10, would absolutely return.

Beautiful spot . Little over grow and with the rain we had it was a bit buggy but nothing some big spray couldn't fix. The neighbors made it less secluded and private with the loud music till late then up at 6am too what sounded like gun range shooting and 8am running equipment. Over all it was ok

I absolutely love this property. It is very well maintained and quite beautiful. There is plenty of space for anything you could possibly need. This is a perfect location to bring your dog, pleanty of open room for them to run and they are always in your sight.
It is very secluded with many trails leading to the creek and nice newly built bridge that leads to the most beautiful forest of trees along the canal. I would live here if I could. The owners are fabulous and very quick to respond to any question. Debra is a wonderful hostess of this property.

Need to unwind? Have a large group? Want an attentive but hands off host? This is your spot!!! I hesitate to rave too loudly, as I love this quaint place and have dubbed it as our go to weekend spot! birdwatching, bats, fireflies — this property is the perfect stage for watching wildlife at night. Campfire pit is tucked neatly under a beautiful canopy that opens to a large field. Follow some clever tree tags to find a small creek. Nicely maintained property - has always had fresh cut grass and lots of tlc. Sure, finding the entry from the main road can be daunting at night- but this only enhanced our feeling seclusion and disconnection. The ride in is swirvy- roll the windows down and enjoy the fresh air as you get transported to your spot on the map. A little signage could help a weary traveler - but it would also take away from the opportunity for playful discovery.

Hard to find and overgrown

Site was VERY difficult to find. There was no number at the road or anywhere for that matter and no distinctive marking to determine you were in the right place. After finally trying out a driveway that has a do not enter, private property sign, it turned out to be the right one. When you get to the barn the area is very overgrown and needs to be mowed. There is 1 table that is covered in ivy and broken. Another table, dirty an unkept. Fire pit is made of brick that is falling apart and we needed to restack the bricks in order to have a fire. Composting toilet is down an overgrown path. Well is a little farther down a path and non functioning, no water came out. Noise from road was moderate.
There is an open area by the barn to park if you have a camper and a few tucked away spots for tents. We didn’t walk around too much because everything was just too overgrown and didn’t see the canal, did see the creek though.
We had planned to stay 2 nights but the site was just not enjoyable so we modified our stay to 1 night and the host would not refund the night (since it wasn’t 3 days prior to the trip) Some changes would definitely need to be made with cleaning up the property being number one for me to be able to recommend this site. I really think if it was maintained more the $40 a night would be more acceptable.

It was confusing not knowing if I was in the right location, there was no signage. It also had no signage to the water pump or compost toilet.. I only found them by accident. It would be beneficial for host to meet camper when they arrive.
