This is a really nice plot to get away, experience privacy while staying close to lots of convenient shopping and food options in biking range. Just bring lots of bug spray if you're visiting during the warmer months! I am looking forward to coming back in the fall or spring, before the bugs start doing what they do so well!

We enjoyed this Hipcamp so much! After a busy weekend at a state park this was the quiet break we needed while on the way home. Rain from previous days made the trails unwalkable but we enjoyed our time by the barn. Our dog loved exploring.

Great place nearby the Erie Canal. We arrived later than we wanted, arriving after dark. We found the driveway easily and the site was good. We had bicycles to cycle along the canal. The property did border the canal, but a little bushwhacking was needed. Woke up in the morning to four deer grazing and squirrels getting walnuts out of the trees!

This land has clear area with direct sunlight and a picnic table, has a forest where there it is clear of weeds, close to a small stream and has a picnic table too and also has walking access to the Erie canal.
Definitely recommend. 30 minutes from Rochester but feels like you are far far.
It is comparable to dispersed camping. Don't expect all amenities of a KOA (pool, vending machine, toilets, etc.) , this is comparable to backcountry hiking/camping.

This camping spot is lovely. Nice trails and locations to put up your tent. We were able to get good viewing of meteor shower that night! Listened to the owls and coyotes. We enjoyed our stay and will be back :)

I found this site perfect for what I needed, which was to have a nice, quiet, secluded place to spend the night camping in my Jeep.
When I arrived, it was fairly easy to find the road back to the main camping area. There was a picnic table and some chairs and some fire pits. I made a small fire in one of the fire pits; there were some pieces of wood scattered around and I brought a few myself. I arrived well after dark so I parked my car near the red structure and slept there.
In the morning I took a walk down some of the paths into the forest but I lost the path before making it to the water. In the forest there were additional clearings where you could set up tents, which was cool. There were some rudimentary structures built in the woods as well, probably by previous campers. There were also a good amount of branches and twigs on the ground the further back you go, which would be useful for anyone looking to make a fire.
As others said, there did seem to be a good amount of skeeters and other flying bugs, but it wasn't crazy or anything. Bring some bug spray and get a fire going and it shouldn't be too bad I imagine. There are also some fallen trees across a few parts of trails, but they can be gotten over without too much trouble.
I would come back and visit this spot again on future trips. My only suggestions for the property might be a few small solar-powered lights on posts in the camping areas, clearing some of the fallen logs, and perhaps access to well water

Overall we had a good time, but the amenities and space were not as shown.
The campsite was nice for our group of 10. Large firepits, several tables and ample parking space. Shade was very much appreciated, bugs weren't a big problem either. The trails were fun to explore and the canal access was great. It was relatively easy to find and felt secluded despite close proximity.
A large portion of the site that was shown as maintained in the photos was not mowed or cutback when we arrived. This was the green space west of the barn, and all surrounding areas to the garden patch. While it worked out for the 10 of us, had our original group of 20 people attended there would not have been enough space. Additionally, a hand pump was mentioned in the listing but was not installed when we arrived. These didn't end up impacting our trip that much, but easily could have been a massive pain if things worked out differently.
Overall, we had fun, but there were issues.

This was our 2nd time staying at "Secluded Camping on the Canal" and we enjoyed the experience. We had the entire property to ourselves and took some time to explore the many trails. (Mosquito repellent and knowledge of what poison ivy looks like are a must - but that's part and parcel of being in woods and fields near the canal anyway.) After our hike we headed into Brockport for dinner (lots of choices), then came back to chill by the campfire. The site is very private, and during the day the sounds of so many birds fills the air. After dark fireflies abound, and owls and other night critters call out from the woods... it's very peaceful. We will definitely consider coming back again.

We booked Debra’s land for a large camping group. It’s really great property! We had an excellent time. Debra was very responsive and accommodating to our questions and needs. We will be back for sure.

The driveway was extremely tight and ended up scratching both our truck and camper — definitely not suited for larger vehicles. The entire area was overrun with mosquitos, and the canal and creek access mentioned in the listing was completely blocked by downed trees.
Photos on the listing don’t reflect the current state of the property, and the automated message we received before our trip mentioned a hand pump for water, but we were told it’s not actually turned on because “not many people use it.” That message and the pictures really need to be updated to avoid confusion for future campers.
Overall, I’d only recommend this spot if you’re just passing through and need somewhere to crash for the night. This property could really be a special and beautiful place if it was maintained just a little better. On a brighter note, we really enjoyed the nearby town park and grabbing ice cream at Pinkies just around the corner — both were the highlights of our visit.

Make sure to bring plenty of bug spray, and be very confident in identifying poison ivy. Generally a super cute spot - private, the dogs loved it, Wegmans is only 5 minutes away if you run out of snacks. 😊

Beautiful property and location. We weren’t able to check out as much as we wanted with the mud and downed trees. No fault of the owner, there had been 40+ mph winds and downpours a few days prior to my arrival. I would really enjoy coming back in late spring or early summer when everything is in full bloom and the trails are dried up. Debra, the host is very responsive and answers any questions you may have. I would recommend this place 100% and will be back for sure.

The location was amazing - very secluded and private, yet close to town. Debra, the host, was easy to communicate with and very helpful. We are looking forward to booking here again next camping season. Unfortunately we were not able to stay due to an unforeseen family emergency that happened 5 minutes after we arrived.

Overall we had a great experience. We were only there in the evening/nighttime since we were in the area to attend our daughter’s cross-country event. We didn’t even get to see the canal this time. The space was great for our dogs! The picnic table and fire ring looked great, but it was rainy both evenings so we didn’t get to build that fire. I’d like to visit again when we have more time to explore.

It was a bit difficult to find in the dark, but the property was beautiful and very secluded. I felt safe and would recommend this site to others! Enjoyed exploring the trails in the morning before leaving.
