Finger Lakes: In just 10-20 minutes from this location, you will find an abundance of waterfalls including Ithaca Falls, Buttermilk Falls and Taughannock Falls. Cayuga Lake is great for Sailing, kayaking and paddle boarding. Lake swimming is available at Myers Park in Lansing or Taughannock State Park outside of Trumansburg. Jump off a diving board into the pool at the bottom of Lower Treman Falls or hike upper Treman to Lucifer Falls, possibly the most beautiful short hike you’ll ever find. The area has hundreds of incredible hiking trails to choose from. Plus, Seneca Lake and the Finger Lakes Wine Trail are just a bit farther west! Biking: The roads of the Ellis Hollow area are popular with cyclists, while nearby Yellow Barn Forest, Hammond Hill and Shindagin Hollow are popular spots for mountain biking. Full disclosure: Cascadilla Meadow’s RV parking is close to a moderately used local road. Tall power lines cut across this lot. We are also located the equivalent of a city block from a natural gas transfer station. We feel the benefits of solitary parking and the natural beauty of this area outweigh the small downsides of this location.

We loved this campsite spot as it really had everything we were looking for. The lake was beautiful and clean and we enjoyed fishing and boating on it daily. We loved having easy access to the campsite, just a short walk from our truck to unpack and the compost toilet as well. We cooked every meal on the open fire and thought that the farms smoked pork chops were incredible! Overall we were surrounded by nature, had lovely weather and enjoyed the sounds of the coyotes and roosters all around us! We will be back for sure-thank you again for hosting us! Jess and AJ

Another great visit tent camping at Cascadilla Meadow! Janelle is a fantastic and responsive host, we greatly appreciate the firewood and water they provided. There’s hiking spots within walking distance from the site, and the location isn’t far from many other neat hiking spots. The goldenrod in the meadow are so lovely this time of year too :) absolutely recommend!!

I stayed for 5 nights and loved it. Lots of birds and sounds of wildlife here. The property is beautiful. There was fire wood and water waiting at the site. Minimal to no service with Verizon in the area. Comfortable bike ride into the university for this area.

My husband, dog, and I had a wonderful time camping here! It’s a little slice of paradise. The lake is lovely for swimming and standup paddle boarding. The woods are so peaceful. My dog had the run of the place and loved being in nature. I also did a tour of Bret’s farm (Two Creek) it’s a very special place and I loved seeing the animals!

3 nights at Cascadilla Meadow

Although it was a bit difficult to find, the site itself was huge! My partner & I were the only ones there during our stay but the whole area might be big enough for about 5 other tents. The campground is located right across the road from a Nature Preserve. The camp is very open, with tons of options for where to put your tent. Theres a big firepit in the center with backup wood in a sheltered shelving unit. There is a composting toilet in a zippered tent-like structure on the edge of the property. The location is about a 5 min drive away from the center of Ithaca. It's mostly far away from other buildings but it looks like theres a factory across the street, neighbored by the Nature Preserve. The building has some pretty bright lights in some of the windows, otherwise it's mostly dark. The only suggestion I have is maybe upgrading the composting toilet situation from a tent to a tiny wooden structure. We were only able to use it the first day, before the heat & the flies made it pretty unusable. All in all, I would recommend this spot for any couple or small group for camping. I would also love to return again!

It’s clear that so much care and attention went into creating this peaceful retreat. The site was incredibly quiet, clean, and well cared for—and to our surprise, there were hardly any bugs! I’m usually a mosquito magnet and didn’t get a single bite. The trailer itself was fully stocked with everything we could possibly need for cooking, sleeping, and relaxing. All we had to bring were our clothes and food. Both the interior and outdoor setup were well equipped and cozy. The pond on the property was a lovely spot to unwind. Our kids had a great time fishing, and we spent countless hours lounging in the hammocks by the pond and under the pergola. They were so comfy, we could’ve slept in them lol. Jodi was incredibly warm, welcoming, and communicative. When she stopped by to drop off firewood, we ended up having some great conversations by the fire about the history of the property and the surrounding area. During our stay, we explored Robert H. Treman State Park and Buttermilk Falls Gorge—both absolutely stunning. As Canadians, we found that eating out nearby was a little pricey with the exchange rate, so we mostly cooked at the site, which worked out perfectly thanks to how well everything was set up. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you for such a relaxing stay :)
