While the lower elevations received almost no moisture, the higher elevations are at only 53% of the 20-year average snowpack. Given these conditions, I have made the difficult decision not to host campers this year due to the heightened fire risk. While the lower elevations received almost no moisture, the higher elevations are at only 53% of the 20-year average snowpack. Given these conditions, I have made the difficult decision not to host campers this year due to the heightened fire risk. A historic farmstead in the high desert with an 80-year-old heritage apple orchard, pond, dry land cliff, and large trees. Incredible sunset views, dark skies for star gazers, and only a 20 minute drive to the Mesa Verde Park entrance. This is a great stay for animal lovers: we have a flock of domestic geese, two alpacas, a very fluffy and friendly dog, a black curious cat, and a waddle of ducks who will all want to say hello at some point (don't worry, the geese are friendly). Enjoy visits from wild friends such as deer (including a rather impressive group of stags), hawks, and eagles. In the fall you can pick apples from the trees. In the summer, guests can enjoy cherries, plums, and apricots. There are a few camp spots to choose from on our property: in the orchard with views of Sleeping Ute Mtn, near the pond, or on top of our cliff (a bit of an adventure to bring your gear up, but you'll have some great views). Campers must have a self-contained system, no facilities are available at this time. Fires may not be possible depending on the area's current fire risk. Propane camp fire pits are A-ok. This is an animals-lovers location - there may be some noise from them.

Loved it! A high open plain ringed with mountains: Mesa Verde and Ute close, Telluride, San Juans and Bears Ears on the horizon. Immaculately clean and generous kitchen and dining/hanging out areas. The tent/RV sites are very basic but the rest makes up. Great hosts, dark sky. Didn’t see inside the cabins but the hogan was lovely.

The campsites are in a slightly hilly, brushy area, so there’s some privacy built in. We picked campsite 11 so we could watch the beautiful sunset, and sunrise. It was so quiet out there!! Beautiful stars at night. The porta potty was clean and nearby and there were trash cans next to it. It was only our 2nd time hip camping so I was surprised that there wasnt a table and fire ring, just a space to camp . There were rocks to make a fire ring and we used our camping boxes for a table, so we were fine , but we’ll get a table top for future hipcamping. The owner’s two dogs joined us in the morning and were super friendly and fun.

It is a remote space and you feel so small being surrounded by the mountains. Love this open, vast area that holds a space for people to be in nature safely. The kitchen is well stocked with goodies. Everything is a quick stroll away from the teepee. The bathroom has adorable art and quotes on the wall to brighten the space up. Our teepee was warm, spacious and cozy! It rained over night and listening to the rain hit the teepee was calming. Wish we were here for two nights, but we had a quick over night stay. Love this spot and would totally come back.

This place is absolutely stunning! I have never seen so many stars before and the campsites are spaced out far enough it felt liek a private retreat. I car camped here and had a super sweet one-night stay where all my needs were met. The land is beautiful, gorgeous sunset and sunrise, and it was sweet to have communal space like the kitchen, showers, bathrooms, and more. The camp hosts were very sweet and welcoming! We enjoyed our stay. The Raven tipi was comfortable and spacious for three of us + gear. And to have the kitchen to use was fantastic! And the freezer & ice maker made our water situation for desert hiking so easy. Bathrooms were super clean. Shower building was good too. Rustic, and walled in, but open to the air. Chatting with folks from all parts of the US was a nice bonus too. And our second morning there, we were greeted by a raven perched on top of the tipi. Highly recommend. And if you walk the trails to the bathrooms at night using a headlamp, see if you can spot the sparkles on the ground.

This camp was INCREDIBLE!! Clean… soooo many wonderful amenities! After two weeks of camping, hiking, etc… the lovely flush bathrooms and the free hot, wonderful showers were awesome! The best part??… THE HOSTS! Betty & Albert could not be more helpful, friendly, and accommodating! They keep that camp spotless! I can’t say enough good things about RAMBLE!! It’s also just a short drive from Mesa Verde… very pet friendly… and quiet!

Hospitality was top notch. If you’re not used to camping in a community space it can feel a bit different. Lots to do there, and Telluride is about an hour and a half away and so are the bridal veil falls. If you plan on going to Mesa Verde make sure to book your in advance because some of the areas are only accessible through tours.
