The camp was founded 40 years ago as a summer camp for kids. We continue to offer camps for children and their parents and grandparents (family camps), as well as welcome adults and other groups to enjoy the vast and wild high desert nature up on this ridge.

Register for our nature education activities and resources lead by The Wilderness Institute (available for all of our guests). These topics include sustainability, recycling, composting, water conservation, wildfire prevention, outdoor safety, and nature awareness along with the use of our hiking trails.

There are beautiful views and access to Shaggy Peak, the southernmost tip of the Rocky Mountains and the Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range. Wander our land to enjoy various level hiking trails including a 20 minute hike to a creek and waterfall in the forest (some steep spots and creek is intermittent) or climb up Shaggy Peak (seasoned hikers only please).
IMPORTANT: We are up 1.3 miles of dirt road (with 5-7+% grade in a few short stretches) and are not near public transportation so you will need your own vehicle! Be aware that the roads can be snowy, icy or muddy and rutted ( 4-wheel or All-trak recommended in certain times of year). We don’t guarantee the road will be plowed.
We generally close for the season due to cold weather around Halloween and reopen just before Memorial Day.

This glamp zone occupies only 1.25 acres. Part of our mission in creating this space is to bring folks together. We encourage campers to mingle. Maybe organize a group float down the Chama. The float from just above Bodes to our very own shore is wonderful. It takes about two hours. There is one challenging spot, but beside that, the float is calm and tranquil.
Please be aware, we have cats, chickens, goats, donkeys, horses and dogs that live on the property. Your pets are welcome only if they are guaranteed to not pester or hurt our posse of pets. Also, we will not tolerate excessive barking or inappropriate running around or bothering ourselves or other guests. You must pick up all your and your pets waste and take it with you when you leave.

Located in the downtown area and hot springs district, the property has a well that draws out the hot springs at about 98 degrees and pours it in to an outdoor tub- perfect for a warm winter day or summer evenings. It can be reserved for an additional fee upon arrival. 4 blocks from the downtown area you can easily access other spas, restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries, thrift shops, and the grocery store. Wake up in the morning, walk down to the river and you'll see heron, coots, osprey, sandhill crane, red wing black birds, and so many more wildlife. The coyotes regularly sing throughout the night. I tend the property and you may see me around if I need to do light repair work. There is a care taker for the property who lives there and may be another guest as well. The property is 1/2 a city block. Your living quarters are private but the land is shared space. I'm available to engage if desired and I respect your privacy. The property is 6 city lots large and you will have access to 4 of them. Dogs are allowed for an additional fee. You must be responsible to clean up after them and they must be friendly with strangers.

Two Hawk Ranch is comprised of 12 acres of high mountain valley meadows, hay fields, Acequias, trees and the Rio Chiquito. Yes, we are located at approximately 7,800ft elevation. My husband and I stumbled across this beautiful and serene property by accident in 2020 just as Covid hit. We feel blessed to be here and feel the need to share it’s calming, restful qualities. We have three adult children and have three grandchildren. We also have eight international children as we hosted international students for four years. You are welcome to come sit by the fire and be social or just do your own thing.

Sites located across the property for up to 8 groups. The RV camping is located near one of our horse corrals and above our irrigation Acequia, above or next to the house, or in the field down by the arena after haying is complete (usually after the first week of July as long as the rain cooperates). Can back in or pull through and has 110v power nearby. No water to hook up to, but we can fill your tanks via hose by the house or arena. Other sites available if you don’t need power, or have a generator.
Property is within a 100yds of national forest service that gives access to off-roading, hiking, biking, horse riding, fishing, and winter snowshoeing, cross country skiing, etc. We are located just off the High Road to Taos in Llano, 29 miles south of Taos and 55 miles north of Santa Fe. We are eight miles from Ski Sipapu and eight miles from Rio Santa Barbara Canyon.
Your well-behaved pets are welcome. We also have one great dane (Raggy), a great dane mix (The Morrigan), one ranch cat (Sasha) and four horses (Gentry, Shadow, Mattie & Jr G). The dogs are a rescue of some kind. The Morrigan is black, 3.5 yrs old and comes out of a rescue in AZ. She went in with her litter as a 5 month old puppy, and she came here about a year later. She is reticent and suspicious, so ignore her and she will come up to you on her own; continue to ignore her. Ragnar (Raggy) is our most recent rescue and is from Las Cruces. He's 3 yrs old and a merle. He suffers from anxiety and fears children. We are working him through his fears, and he is doing really well.
The weather here tends to run cooler, as we are located in the mountains in a small valley at approximately 7,800 ft above sea level. In the spring through fall, temps will average from mid 40°F up to mid 60°F at night and mid 60°F up to mid 90°F during the day. Temps can get into the 100°F's in the summer, but that is rare. Generally if the sun is out, it is warm or hot even tho the actual temps are not. It's a high-altitude affect. The opposite is true as well. Cloud cover will feel cooler. We also experience monsoon style rains that occur in the afternoon generally starting in July and running into August or later.
In the late fall through early spring during winter, the average temps usually run from 0°F up to mid 20°F at night with occasional dips into negative temps and in the day generally run from mid 20°F up to the mid 40°F range. Same as above - if the sun is out, it will feel warmer, etc.
We do hay the fields, so we may have tractor activity going on in the late spring and early summer. In the winter we will be clearing snow from the roads and feeding hay.

Our stay at Santa Fe Treehouse Camp was idyllic! My husband and I chose it because we wanted to take our boys camping over Labor Day weekend with minimal effort. So we booked a Pegasus Treehouse and let me tell you it was magical! Our boys ages 4 and 6, were stoked to sleep among the trees. And my husband and I were thankful we could do so comfortably with ease and sufficient space.
The communal kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of seating. The setting is perfect for meeting and chatting with other campers/travels which is a cool perk to having shared communal spaces. While they offer really fun experiences some of them were for ages 7, or 8 and older. So we opted for a guided Sunset Hike and Stargazing stroll. And enjoyed a couple more easy fun kid friendly hikes, played tetherball, badminton, games and puzzle making as a family. And we look forward to trying out archery and tomahawk throwing in the future.
Ciana and Brad were warm, welcoming and great with our kids. Their peaceful, happy, bright energy is a testament to their love for the land and fulfilling stewardship work that they do.
I haven't fully unpacked yet and we already look forward to going back!

What can I say that would adequately describe what a wonderful experience we had at Two Hawk Ranch? Sherry went out of her way to make us feel welcome. She greeted us upon arrival and made sure we knew where to park in her beautiful pasture.
Sherry’s property is breathtaking. We saw a couple dozen species of birds, including a great-horned owl. The sunsets were amazing. We would love to return here the next time we’re in New Mexico.

Weekend Trip to Santa Fe Treehouse Camp & Wilderness Preserve
We stayed in Pegasus 1 and the Mustang Cabin in mid-August. It got a little cold in pegasus but we brought enough blankets! We had a queen and two twins with a trundle. Mustang was fully furnished and cozy with a queen and bunk beds. The site is amazing and Ciana and Brad were so nice and accommodating! There are chairs and fire pits nearby with the bathroom and showers being a short walk. Amenities are modern. There's a community kitchen with an outdoor patio as well. It was so relaxing and grounding. Highly recommend!

We loved our 3 night stay at Treehouse Camp. My husband and I and our 5 children tent camped. We chose a campsite closest to the shared pavilion and toilet, but because there were no other campers around, we had the place to ourselves.
The weather was beautiful, my kids loved finding different rocks and making things with all the sticks lying around. The wind in the trees and stars were breathtaking.
We couldn’t have a campfire due to the burn ban, but we used our camp stove. One evening, we utilized the shared outdoor kitchen, which was very nice to keep the kids clean after their showers….in a clean bathroom, I should add.
I really liked that there was an outdoor washing station three minutes from our campsite. We carried dishes back and forth easily, and were able to do a few loads of laundry, too. (Only a washer, no dryer; but that wasn’t an issue because things line dried so quickly.)
A few things would’ve made the experience even better, but I know these things couldn’t be helped. More shade would be nice during the day, and water and electricity at each site would have been helpful. But like I said, I know those things cannot be helped and with all the amenities nearby, it really wasn’t bad at all.
I should also mention that except for a few little gnats and flies, there weren’t any bugs. We left our tent “door” open all day without any problems.
Ciana was very helpful and accommodating too!
We will definitely return if we are ever in the area. Highly recommended!

1 night at Healing on the Rio Grande !
Michaela's place was just as described and what a treat! Yes, the gardens, but also getting chats in the garden with her and over coffee in the morning. My service husky and I took hostel cots in the living room and; super comfy, warm and inviting. Her husband, Ernesto, greeted us and saw us off with a smile. I would definitely stay again, I feel like we have so much more to talk about!

Such a hidden gem! The host and camp staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. The property has great amenities, including an outdoor kitchen and dining area and a shower/bath house, while still feeling peaceful and tucked away. It borders National Forest land, and there’s a wonderful short hike right from the grounds that was perfect for sunset. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it!

The shasta is super cute and perfect. The RV was clean and very comfy. There’s a little river/ creek near the shasta and you can enjoy the sound of water nearby. This camp is perfect for first time campers who would want to try being outdoors without worrying about setting up tent. I would totally be back here!
