Sunny Mellow Eco Villa is the land with a great history. The VERY QUIET, secret Shangra-La Valley just over the ridge from Route 66 (and I-40) was the camping place for Billy the Kid and his gang! They could quickly saddle up when the posted lookout on the ridge above signaled the passing of The Corrupt Santa Fe Cartel that bid to hold control of business throughout Lincoln County. Even more stunning, it was the Tijeras Indian Pueblo Tribe's place of roaming and rest. The land now sports an Organic Vineyard, Orchard and Vegetable Garden that guests my forage from when in bloom. Our stars shine brighter than most, and coyote songs will remind you that you're dwelling amongst the high desert wildlife.The 1 3/4 mile road to Little Dancing Horse Ranch is not for everyone. I will reiterate this a couple times in this listing to make sure people understand that we live on a rocky, dirt road. Some folks find it not to be a big deal while others do. Most vehicles most of the time can make it fine if it's taken slowly although high clearance vehicles are ideal. During the rare big rain or snow 4 wheel drive may be needed. It's advisable to check the weather in advance.

I can't recommend this site enough. We are still talking about it days later. The host was so welcoming, gave us a little tour, and told us information about the land and surrounding area. This place is an amazing vibe and experience with so many thoughtful details. It's comfortable, fun, there were interesting reading materials, everything to make coffee, a sink space setup, a heater, a spot to charge your phones, even a large mirror. A group of people could stay here comfortably as the space is setup with multiple sleeping areas. I also appreciated the little twinkle lights in the outhouse. There were solar lights around the area to light the way on arrival and we enjoyed the gorgeous dark sky and saw some meteor showers. We (and our pack) had such a comfortable stay here and it's clear the host puts a lot of love and care into it. If I'm ever in the area again, I would stay here in a heartbeat.

Very cute little place. Nice private location, but easy to find. Pat is very kind. There were a few things in the Silo that didn't work upon arrival. Pat brought in the maintenance man, but was unable to fix them during our stay. Thanks for putting in the effort. The bed is very firm but we found it very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen and linens situation. Porches are really nice for enjoying the views. We would definitely stay here again.

This A-frame was quite an interesting drive from Santa Fe. I don’t think we would’ve made it without our 4 wheel drive. The cabin was beautiful and Clean. We love the wood burning stove. Overall it was a great stay for a quick evening getaway from it all!

The camper is super cozy and has beautiful views. There is a stovetop, sink, and composting toilet inside the camper – and a great outdoor seating area outside. It was chilly in late October, so Kate set me up with lots of thick blankets and I stayed very warm! Kate is open and welcoming but also gave me my privacy. Great stay!

My stay at the year on the Mesa top totally exceeded my expectations. Kate was there to greet me and show me around and really has put many magical touches on the place. There was everything I need to cook, do dishes, even take an outdoor shower. I came in late fall, and while it was cold at night, the propane heater was toasty. And the bedding was amazing, so I didn’t even need the heater when I slept. The views and the stars and the location are unparalled. I would definitely come back!

Great little house with all of the basic amenities someone looking for a place not too rustic would love. Harvey was extremely friendly, and gave us any and all of the privacy we could want. The dirt roads are pretty bumpy, so if you come in a standard height car take it slow.

Pat was responsive to all our questions before and during our stay, and we appreciated her flexibility. Our concern about a gas smell turned out to be an unlit pilot light on the stove, and that was easily remedied. We also wondered if a silo would be drafty--but it wasn't. We were there in early October, and the view of the surrounding Chama River Valley was beautiful. We loved the Silo and would stay there again!

So, if you are looking for a home away from home, this place may be for you. This is how I want to be living on a daily basis. We parked our car on the designated gravel spot. Walked the signed trail to a deck dedicated to yoga while a ping pong table is 5 feet away. Going along the path further you see a bunny hanging out in the brush while little birds fly bush to bush alongside you. Then you spot the entrance to the tree house. Directly behind it is your fully equipped kitchen with seating and all under a tin roof. Then a fire pit is on your way to the outdoor bathroom. Don't worry you cross a bridge and step over marked rocks like on an adventure. A hot water shower, relaxes you while the trees hang over with the blue sky peaking through. This place was paradise! Thank you for being so creative and well equipped for every possible situation! Top Notch!
