Eber was such an amazing host. He went above and beyond to help us. He came to the rescue at night and guided us back to camp when we got off trail. The land and camp sites are beautiful and have almost everything you need. Great fire pit and grill station for cooking.

2 nights at Souhegan Shores

Bob and Tini were great hosts and went out of their way to make the experience excellent. Because of the wet weather, the mosquitoes were fierce, but Bob provided enough wood, without charge, to help keep the fires going. The site is clean, quiet, and feels remote, though it's not too far from town. Definitely recommended.

Weekend Trip to Peaceful Packies @ 3 Willows Farm

I loved Amanda's alpaca pen! The alpacas are friendly (although they don't want to be pet) and it was fun to walk around the farm and such the chickens, sheep, and other animals.

Weekend Trip to Hussey Mountain Tree Farm

Eben is an awesome dude and a great host. The site was beautiful, well maintained, and well equipped. There are so many great small details both on the site and outside it. My friends and I had an amazing weekend despite some serious rain, and I hope we can make it back with some sunshine soon!

Had an absolute blast on Eben’s land 10/10 would recommend camping at the ridge. The views are outstanding and the hiking trails are a lot of fun. If the weather permits definitely try out the little boat as well!!

1 night at Pitch Perfect at Canterbrook

Stayed at campsite no.10 next to the small creek. Every other campsite seemed clean and well put like the one I stayed at. I liked that all the campsites are not to close to each other so it gives you some privacy. So far, it was a good place to camp in my rooftop tent for a bike trip at highland!

Weekend Trip to Unplugged, No electricity, no wifi.

We loved this little unplugged cabin in the woods! Lorraine is a wonderful host and was so kind and caring. The cabin has literally everything you need which was amazing. We will definitely be back!

1 night at Clover Hill Farm ☘️

This was a really nice private camping spot, tucked away, up in a meadow, with big beautiful trees behind. It was very quiet and peaceful. Amanda was extremely responsive and welcoming. I was grateful that she was receptive to a last minute guest. Slept great there, and what a pretty place to wake up to.

Weekend Trip to Souhegan Shores

We love staying at Bobs campsites along the Souhegan River. Group of 4 adults, an 11month old baby, and one pup enjoyed a late May weekend at campsite #1. Although it rained for a good portion, the huge tarp over the picnic table was incredibly helpful! We set up an ez-up but didn't end up using it as intended over the picnic table, but put it just off to the side acting as a baby corral while we cooked meals at the site. We also fit an SUV, truck camper, and tent on the site. Loved the sound of the rushing river, made even higher by all the rain. So peaceful it felt like we were alone in the woods, even with the horse pasture on the other side of the fence. Ticks were bad this time around but we checked ourselves often. As always, we love the grate over the firepit for cooking, as well as the option to purchase firewood on site!

Boulder Brook is an awesome place to stay! The sites are great size and well spread apart, hard to beat especially right next to the brook. Outhouse is very clean with firewood right there for purchase. There is a stunning pond/park a short walk up the road that is such a hidden gem as well. We would definitely stay again!

1 night at Someday Farm and Forest

I loved camping on Barbie’s land! I didn’t check out all of their cool amenities, but they had a ton of stuff available. The site I chose was off the main path and more near a little pond, providing even more privacy. Everything was easy to find and it was excellently located. I would definitely stay there again.

1 night at Hussey Mountain Tree Farm

This was my first ever solo tent camping experience in the wilderness. Ledgewood was the perfect site for me to experience a true rustic camp environment. I was amazed at the solitude of the site with great views of the Appalachians to the North. I could actually the snow covered top of Mt. Washington from site #4. Amazing! There were many amenities to the site, which accommodated 14 people prior to my stay. Canopies, picnic tables, numerous hammocks, a fantastic fire pit, and strings of lights really made me say, "wow". Site #4 was a .25 mile hike from the base 4WD parking area. I needed to hire Eben to take my gear to the site via his ATV because of the amount of gear I had and the challenging path to the area. It was definitely a necessary service to and from the base lot. Eben was a great host. He was engaging and had a great story to tell about his 20+ years as a proprietor on the mountain. It did rain during my one night stay so I didn't bother lighting a fire for cooking or ambience. The wood is covered and the cooking/washing station is also a very nice feature to this site. After I set up my tent, I decided to explore and hike to the summit of Mount Hussey. I got to the top, took some spectacular videos and pictures before descending. I mistakenly took a wrong trail and GOT LOST! There was plenty of daylight left but it began to rain quite heavily. I called Eben and he calmly and professionally guided me back to a familiar trail using Google Earth. Thank God!

Wonderful stay at Pitch Perfect. LeeAnn is a great host and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Fantastic communication and a really great spot. I highly recommend a stay at Pitch Perfect. We camped while riding mountain bikes at Highland Bike Park and will not hesitate to stay at Pitch Perfect again if we come back to ride. Just be sure to bring bug spray but the bugs didn’t deter the enjoyment of our stay!

We live the better part of a mile away from the closest utility poles on a trail. Can’t be found on google maps! We are truly off grid in the wilderness! Browns Ridge Family Farm!

Souhegan Shores

Camp by the river bank of the Souhegan River under shade of oak, hickory, blue birch, hemlock and white pine. Let the song of the rapids sing you to sleep. Maybe the resident owls will join the serenade. This slice of heaven is only 5 minutes from the Everett Turnpike and within an hour from Boston. Weather concerns? The best forecast we've found for Merrimack is https://www.wmur.com/weather. Want to see what the river is doing? Check out https://water.noaa.gov/gauges/SOHN3. 500 CFS is a sporty run with canoe or kayak. SPECIAL NOTE: June 16th Update River has dropped to 300 CFS which means it's still a bit pushy but is at a nice level for boating. Roads are passable. We just had campsites and surrounding trails sprayed for mosquitos so we hope for a sharp improvement on those pests. Still bring your repellent and stop at WalMart or shop Amazon for a Thermocell. Keeping the campfire burning helps as well. More description... Site-1 is located under the trees adjacent to our 3 acre meadow and Christmas Tree farm. Camp near the bank of the Souhegan River in the shade while listening to the river tumble over the ledges upstream. In season, enjoy the chest deep swimming hole 100 feet from your campsite. Two horses graze on the other side of the privacy fence. If you don't like friendly dogs try site 2 where we have a better chance of keeping our dog Wilson from dropping in to visit. He loves people too much not to want to greet folks on Site 1. Site-2 is at the farthest most downstream end of the property and from mid-May to mid-October it is totally screened by foliage. From your site you only see trees and the river. If you don't like other dogs, this is the site you want. Still no guarantee Wilson won't visit, but it's easier to keep Wilson away from this corner of the property. The other side of the river is town conservation land so the only people you're likely to see will be passing by in kayaks or on paddleboards. In dry season, both sites are a great place to start a float trip and you'll likely have the next 1.5 miles all to yourself since rapids up stream become impassable wet rocks in July and August. You are only two traffic lights away from the Merrimack Premium Outlet Mall if you need something to do during inclement weather.

Boulder Brook

Secluded in the wilderness, Boulder Brook Hipcamp has private tent sites right next to a babbling brook. The access road is a nice gravel .6 mile long road that is not maintained in the Winter. There is firewood for sale via Venmo right in the parking area, $6 per bundle. There is also a nice outhouse. There are 4 first come, first serve sites with tent platforms and fire pits. There is quick access to the Rockingham Recreational Trail, which is ideal for walking, mountain biking, and exploring. There is also a great swimming hole nearby called Chivers Pond. The campsites are located on the back corner of the Chivers Farm property and seasonal farm goods will be available for campers to purchase coming in 2025.

Established in 2004, we are an 87 acre ATFS certified Tree Farm located in the Blue Hills Range in the Foothills to NH’s White Mountains. Choose from one of four unique sites / outdoor spaces to best fit your camping needs; book a combination to reserve a section of the mountain, or book all four sites for total privacy or for events. Our Farm spans the northerly side of Hussey Mountain from the base to the summit. Guests are provided with private access to several miles of multi-use nature trails, multiple scenic lookouts, a three acre PYO blueberry maze, and a dock on our private eight acre pond with available boat rentals. At the 2WD shared parking area guests are provided with a outdoor shower with hot and cold water, a portable toilet, garden hose for washing, a power strip for charging devices, and a spigot with potable water for filling containers. Over two decades ago we created our first campsite for the purpose of hosting family and friends. Folks enjoyed camping on the mountain so much they often would choose our farm over traditional campgrounds. Hosting campers became a regular weekend event, and to accommodate more people we created three more sites spread out across the property. In 2020, we came across the Hipcamp app and started offering private reservations to the public. Since, we have been hosting campers on a daily basis and continuously improving our sites / infrastructure / views. We’re excited to see what the next two decades hold; come join us on the mountain! Things to do on the mountain SPRING-FALL include… Hiking on several miles of maintained nature trails marked with clear signage for easy day/night navigation. Once you are confirmed an email is sent offering 30 places around this beautiful town that you may visit at your leisure, including Shaker Village, Canterbury Ale works, Canterbury Woods Golf course, Hackleboro Orchards, our own Canterbury Country Store-1 mile away, Cold Garden Sprits is a new small distillery that is fascinating! The name wolf Swamp comes from the Pony Express Riders that carried Mail from The Canterbury Railroad Station to The Northfield Station. There were many Wolf Sitings reported on the Trail through the Swamp by The Riders, so it was named The Wolf Swamp. The Campsites are spread out over 52 Acres, lots of privacy, plenty of parking and the sites are huge. Each site includes a place to sit and eat (ie. picnic table), fire pit and just breathtaking views. Campers can drive into and park at their site. Each site is separate and private from other sites. We are 15 minutes from Highland Mountain Bike Park We are 15 minutes from BankNH Pavillon (concerts) We are 15 minutes from The Weirs in Laconia (Bike Week) We have two outdoor showers that are very rustic and open and the water is the temperature of the surrounding air (bring a bathing suit or something to shower in, there is no privacy fence at this time) This is an active farm that has an operating butcher shop on the premises. We have a farm store offering a variety of items for sale including eggs, honey, rubs and much more. There is a microwave available to the campers in the farm store as well. Each site will be given a bundle of fire wood on the house, additional wood is for sale. You are welcome to participate in farm work. Coffee (from a local NH roaster), tea, hot chocolate and potable water (from the faucet) will be available daily. We are a farm family with young children so large and rowdy or drinking parties are very heavily discouraged.

At one point in the early 1900's it was home to itinerant farmers who farmed the nearby fields. Our property was the dumping grounds for the stones/rocks that were pulled from the fields. You will notice lots of them throughout the property! Our site is a well manicured area near our house on a 3-acre parcel. There is lots of sun and shade depending on when and where you happen to be on the site. There is plenty of space to pull out your favorite lawn game and a great firepit to keep warm at night. We are about 10 minutes from Clough State Park where there is plenty to do including swimming, paddling, biking, hiking, ATVing, etc. Our site has 50amp service and filtered well water (2 spigots). Depending on how long your RV is, you may not be able to put our your awning all the way.
