Camping here is low activity experience as in there is hiking up in the National Forest or just hanging out in your camp site, or bring your camera, notebook and binoculars, or road bike.
When you come to camp here you are on a farm in transition. Girlfarm has been a local food go to for restaurants, farm family members, and regenerative agriculture interests. Today, the farm is looking forward to a new course in agri tourism as we begin planning walking gardens, art installations in the landscape, and interactive classes.

Gardnerville Ranchos is a desert oasis located at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains forty minutes from Lake Tahoe. Our property is biking distance from the East Fork Carson River.
The Ranchos is a small retirement community within walking distance of our local bowling alley where you can take (free) transit to Lake Tahoe, Carson City, and Reno. Carons Hotsprings and Wally's Hotsprings are both accessible through community (Dart) Transit as well.
With the help of my Father Steve, Sandy Gibson built the House of Gibson in 1983/1984. We are on one acre with an orchard, trees, and a pond. My parents (Steve and Sandy) passed in 2021; We are currently busy with restoring the property.

Welcome to your peaceful, desert getaway. This little Retro Camper is only about 35 minutes from the Strip. The property is home to Joshua trees, desert mountain views, beautiful sunsets, and some of the best star gazing around.
The camper comes with a full kitchen, a refrigerator, microwave, and gas stove. Dishes and utensils are provided as well as bedding and towels. The bed is about a full size bed, maybe a bit smaller, cozy for two people to sleep in. The camper comes with two space heaters and extra blankets for the winter, an overhead air conditioning unit for the summer. The shower has cold water only and is an outdoor shower.

Wide open desert with history. In the 1800s the area was prospected for lead and silver. It was also used as farmland decades ago, and now is infamous for it's world class night skies and Area 51 air force installation. Although you can see planes taking off towards the Nellis Bombing Range, or see jetfighter training exercises or even test flights, the US Government still hasn't acknowledged the existence of the facility... that you are not allowed to enter. This is also a UFO hotspot and required visiting for those that believe Earth may have visitors.
This land means a lot to a lot of different people. For some, it means peace from city life. For others, it is the perfect setting for reflection on your life. Many find it to be the kind of adventurous or challenging tent camping they've sought. You'd be foolish not to count yourself among those the photographers, amateur astronomers, or souls that enjoy the continental United States' "darkest skies" with the least amount of light pollution in this part of the world.
Some simply like camping and getting free air shows. Finally, if you enjoy UFO stories or stories of our men in black, there is an itinerary
for you here that nowhere else can provide. This area is on many "independent researchers" must-visit list.
If all that weren't enough, there is an indescribable feeling of bedding down for the night in this valley. Maybe 100% of people don't feel it, but so many past visitors who have spent the night near the Extraterrestrial Highway (the real name of Nevada State Route 395 that this land is accessible from)
can vouch for it.

Hike through the mountains and even down to Colorado River. Rent kayaks at the property to drive them down, a 7 min drive off the property. Book an off road tour around the mountains and down to the river. Check out the world famous ghost town a few minutes away and even goon an underground mine tour.

This property is secluded and in a remote area with limited cell service. AT&T and Verizon have limited service, other carriers do not. This property is accessible by off road vehicle only, otherwise you may park your car in parking which is 4-7 minutes away from your tent by our shuttle. Off road vehicle means a 4x4 to drive over a rocky trail.
To access your tent, you will be required to schedule the shuttle for check in. A host will drive out to meet you to take you to your tent. Must be scheduled in advance. Check in is between 3pm and 9pm only. The host does not live on property and travels for your scheduled check in time.

Thank you for checking out the Mountain City Hunters Camping Fishing site. This camping site is located just south of the border of Idaho by 16 miles and in the northern tip of Nevada. It's in an isolated location surrounded by 1000 of acres of BLM and Indian reservation land.
The beautiful property sits directly on the Owyhee River with barbwire ole fencing required to keep the cattle out. Please cross over at your own risk when fishing on the 2 acres of open property. There are tons of were there a few weeks ago 9/23 and picked up seven trouts in less than hours. Fun for all.
There are tons of hunting spots in Idaho and Nevada in this area from Ducks, antelope, Deer, Elk, you call it! This site borders and just outside of the Duck Valley Reservation. We see hunters go up to Rio Tinto and across the Bridge to Nowhere, all within minutes of the Mtn city.
The town of Mtn City is referred to as a Ghost town today. It was once busting with people back in the 1930's to 1977's with copper and silver mining in and and around the surrounding area. If you drive around, you will see ruined homes and mines that have been condemned now but it's certainly fun to take a hike or 4-wheel in the area and check it all out. Privacy, quiet, peace, and wild animals roam the area. Tons of hiking and off-roading trails everywhere can be found here.
It's a quiet, peaceful area with a total of 14 very kind and helpful residents that live in town full-time. This camping area has a long 2 acres of running River along it for fishing. The water is low right now, FALL/WINTER 2023, because they are working on the dam which actually makes fishing better. Bring worms or even bacon. These fish are hungry.
There is TONS of flat land on this site to serve several RV's and 1 POLE with 110 outlet, if needed. We have wifi for your convenience but once you leave the area, there is NO WIFI anywhere for many miles.
A local small bar is located next to the property. It doesn't look like much from the outside but worth checking out. Great cold beer, whiskey, Bourbon just no wine can be found there. They also have a few slot machines and smoking is allowed inside. There is also food during the Late spring, summer, and early Fall after 5PM available for those who want a break. Rex runs this place and cooks the best. I recommend the Rex Burger.
If you need a grocery store, gas, or even a few supplies, head north to Owyhee Reservation to the "Our Grocery or Ace Hardware". It is about a 15 min drive away. The closest city is Elko, 1.5 hours away, and or Boise 2.5 hours away. There is also a local health/urgent care in the town of Owyhee (Indian reservation) in case of emergency. Again, this is a very remote, private place many folks don't know about it.
There is also several reservoirs with excellent fishing close by if you want to take a boat out there.

Well, we hope you consider this ole fun retreat and one more thing. The older building on the land is an old historic jail. We are working on it and in time we hope to Air B&B to use it. Give us another year for that.

We love to pass our free time here in the sunshine and juniper drafts overlooking the Sierras. Some days we watch the electric storms across the valley, other afternoons we picnic and nap while listening to the birds and wind. We love the peace and silence, which feels remarkably remote and only 20 minutes from Reno.

Conveniently 15 minutes from South Reno (40 minutes from North Lake Tahoe), the silence and absolute privacy here are restorative and replenishing. We do not have trash collection services available and we ask all guest to practice a “leave no trace” philosophy.

The Schellraiser music fest offers a variety of seasonal camping options at our 80-acre private campground in the cool high desert of Eastern Nevada's Steptoe Valley, near the small town of McGill.
Our Lotus Belle-brand bell tents are solar powered and fully furnished, with king, queen and twin beds; organic Avocado-brand mattresses; rugs; loveseats; floor lamps; charging ports and wi-fi service.
Car-camping and pitch-your-own-tent sites without power are also available.
Our campground features several tiny homes; we've converted the biggest one into our clubhouse that is now open to all guests from Thursday through Sunday nights. The clubhouse has a small kitchen area for cooking simple meals.
We're also gearing up to reopen our coffee bar on weekends in late spring 2025; our menu features hot and cold espresso drinks, organic teas and organic chocolate bars.

Wide open desert with history. In the 1800s the area was prospected for lead and silver. It was also used as farmland decades ago, and now is infamous for it's world class night skies and Area 51 air force installation. Although you can see planes taking off towards the Nellis Bombing Range, or see jetfighter training exercises or even test flights, the US Government still hasn't acknowledged the existence of the facility... that you are not allowed to enter. This is also a UFO hotspot and required visiting for those that believe Earth may have visitors.
This land means a lot to a lot of different people. For some, it means peace from city life. For others, it is the perfect setting for reflection on your life. Many find it to be the kind of adventurous or challenging tent camping they've sought. You'd be foolish not to count yourself among those the photographers, amateur astronomers, or souls that enjoy the continental United States' "darkest skies" with the least amount of light pollution in this part of the world.
Some simply like camping and getting free air shows. Finally, if you enjoy UFO stories or stories of our men in black, there is an itinerary
for you here that nowhere else can provide. This area is on many "independent researchers" must-visit list.
If all that weren't enough, there is an indescribable feeling of bedding down for the night in this valley. Maybe 100% of people don't feel it, but so many past visitors who have spent the night near the Extraterrestrial Highway (the real name of Nevada State Route 395 that this land is accessible from)

Thank you for checking out the Mountain City Hunters Camping Fishing site. This camping site is located just south of the border of Idaho by 16 miles and in the northern tip of Nevada. It's in an isolated location surrounded by 1000 of acres of BLM and Indian reservation land.
The beautiful property sits directly on the Owyhee River with barbwire ole fencing required to keep the cattle out. Please cross over at your own risk when fishing on the 2 acres of open property. There are tons of were there a few weeks ago 9/23 and picked up seven trouts in less than hours. Fun for all.
There are tons of hunting spots in Idaho and Nevada in this area from Ducks, antelope, Deer, Elk, you call it! This site borders and just outside of the Duck Valley Reservation. We see hunters go up to Rio Tinto and across the Bridge to Nowhere, all within minutes of the Mtn city.
The town of Mtn City is referred to as a Ghost town today. It was once busting with people back in the 1930's to 1977's with copper and silver mining in and and around the surrounding area. If you drive around, you will see ruined homes and mines that have been condemned now but it's certainly fun to take a hike or 4-wheel in the area and check it all out. Privacy, quiet, peace, and wild animals roam the area. Tons of hiking and off-roading trails everywhere can be found here.
It's a quiet, peaceful area with a total of 14 very kind and helpful residents that live in town full-time. This camping area has a long 2 acres of running River along it for fishing. The water is low right now, FALL/WINTER 2023, because they are working on the dam which actually makes fishing better. Bring worms or even bacon. These fish are hungry.
There is TONS of flat land on this site to serve several RV's and 1 POLE with 110 outlet, if needed. We have wifi for your convenience but once you leave the area, there is NO WIFI anywhere for many miles.
A local small bar is located next to the property. It doesn't look like much from the outside but worth checking out. Great cold beer, whiskey, Bourbon just no wine can be found there. They also have a few slot machines and smoking is allowed inside. There is also food during the Late spring, summer, and early Fall after 5PM available for those who want a break. Rex runs this place and cooks the best. I recommend the Rex Burger.
If you need a grocery store, gas, or even a few supplies, head north to Owyhee Reservation to the "Our Grocery or Ace Hardware". It is about a 15 min drive away. The closest city is Elko, 1.5 hours away, and or Boise 2.5 hours away. There is also a local health/urgent care in the town of Owyhee (Indian reservation) in case of emergency. Again, this is a very remote, private place many folks don't know about it.
There is also several reservoirs with excellent fishing close by if you want to take a boat out there.

Please ask scouts and support saving Bonnie Claire gold mill. Amazing place. Star gazing capital of the world. Groups welcome. Very historical. See many things in death valley. Huge meteorite crater. Randys castle. Ghost Towns and mines. And more. Great place. Enjoy a private limo ride to and from Las Vegas to Death Valley. Bonnie Claire Gold Mill. In a 16 passenger super stretch limousine. You can camp out or just take the tour. We have two tours.
1. One just Bonnie Claire Gold Mill. Take a 2 .5 hour ride thru the most scenic Western Towns in Vegas. Very historical beautiful scenery all the way there. We stop off at Beatty Nevada to the world famous candy store that has the best choices for all kinds of candy.. Even the candy you miss as a kid. Refresh . Get a Subway, shop souvenirs or get a home made ice cream float. $299 per person.. inc. Food limo and to and from Bonnie claire. Then we continue to Bonnie Claire Gold Mill about 40 minutes from there. See Gold Mountain. Mines shafts and more. Is a magical experience.
2. Grand tour. Wear we drive from Bonnie Claire Gold mill to Tonopah Nevada and explore the huge self guided tour " the historical mining museum " Wear it all happen. 2 billion in silver was taken from these 3 mines. Is amazing . Google it. Price is $399 per person . Inc food , drinks and private limo to and from Las Vegas to Bonnie Claire. Much more fun then Grand Canyon. And if the hot mineral springs are open. Well stop there as well. Many have said the Bonnie Claire Gold Mill tour was the most beautiful thing they ever did. So give it a try. Limousine ride . Ice cold air. 2 tvs . Relax and see the West. 2 nights at Retro Camper with Mountain Views
The retro camper was a perfect spot for a couple days getaway. We used it as a base camp for hiking and climbing. It was cozy and rustic and very cute. Just what you need and nothing more. The outside deck with the hammock and chairs was prefect for enjoying some fresh air and a little star gazing at night. It was just the right size for the two of us for a couple of nights. Goodsprings, NV was a cool find and we really enjoyed the Pioneer Saloon that is a short walk from the camper. We can def recommend this little RV.

Great spot to stop for the night! The host had great communication and while I was only doing an overnight and did not use any of the add-ons available for purchase (pop-up, s’mores, tent) I think that is an excellent touch and I would definitely stay here again.

We took our 22 ft. trailer to this site for one night. The host gave us great directions. Trust the directions, you will not be sorry. The site is beautiful, peaceful, and calm. A great place to relax. The chairs provided were clean, and a nice touch of whimsy in a gorgeous Sierra setting.
We did not hike down to the lake, we stayed at the top and enjoyed the amazing views. Do not miss sunset, it just keeps giving.
It was windy, but if you know this area you know the wind can blow and that is part of the charm.

Wonderful experience camping at Star Gaze Ranch. Comfortable, cozy bed, clean setup with lots of extras, beautiful views, delicious pizza and lovely hosts. Hope to be able to stay again.

What a beautiful and remote spot! And the container was so cute and comfy. Keilani was responsive to messages and made sure we had everything we needed even when the unexpected came up. Heed the 4 wheel drive requirement, it really is necessary!

The site is easily accessible, mostly flat, and offers options for orienting for views. Great location near Lamoille Canyon for scenic drive and hiking and the community of Spring Creek for gas and groceries. The full hook ups were an added bonus.

Weekend Trip to Tarantula Ranch
Tarantula Ranch was awesome! Even nicer than anticipated with the new bathroom and the common area that’s always open. I could get cheap gas down the road in NV before heading to Death Valley, which was also nice. Nice people and nice cats!

We thought this camper was very cute and convenient being so close to Vegas but also away from all the hectic side of Vegas. We loved the outdoor seating area/hammock. The fire pit was also a lot of fun. They even provided the roasting sticks as we forgot to bring ours which was so nice of them. Heather was also really great with providing us with recommendations on what to do and where to eat while we were there. Overall a neat experience.

This was such a lovely, unique, beautiful, and tranquil spot. We didn’t see anyone else the whole time we were there. We were greeted by a family of wild horses on our first morning. Such a great spot! We will be back!

Weekend Trip to Retro Camper with Mountain Views
Great spot and really neat historic features in town! We hiked the 2.2 loop right outside the town and it was scenic and peaceful. At night you can hear the music and life of the natives which gives it even more charm! Great views of the stars on a clear night!

The camper has a beautiful view of the mountains. It’s a great location for accesible drives to desert adventures. Goodsprings is a tiny, quiet town. Heather was great host and helped us find what we needed. She was very responsive.
