It was very easy to find and Zachary and his family are locals & amazing 😁
I was there when a wind storm came through and event with the crazy winds I get to see the flower moon & reenergize. My pups had some free run time in the morning 🥰 What more can you ask for ✌️🫶🕯️

Great location to get away from the hustle and bustle of an RV park and still have full hook-ups! Kathy was a great host and very responsive. Can’t wait for the saloon to reopen.

Not as advertised. The saloon is burnt down and still remains in despair. There was no one around and we didn’t feel safe so left and stayed elsewhere.

Nice basic spot with power and water for our car camp. We enjoyed dinner in the mild evening temperature (April) with view of distant mountains. Would stop again if in the area.

Kathy is a great host. sunsets were beautiful. evenings were pleasant with cool breezes blowing. When she finishes her renovations the saloon will add greatly to the southwest charm.

The saloon itself was half burned to the ground and there was this abandoned trailerpark in the back, it felt very unsafe to me, i ended up staying the night somewhere else...
Maybe it was nothing and i'm just paranoid. Anyways not a place where I'd want to stay the night in my tent.
There were both water and electricity though, so that works out and the desert sunset looks very cool!

I liked the quiet and seclusion. Campgrounds can be so noisy and "busy". I ended up leaving earlier than expected since it was so hot and difficult to keep the travel trailer and my furbabies cool. We will go back in cooler weather.

We were pretty amused to be camping in what felt like a ghost town... The only signs off life were from the RV park two blocks over. The saloon was either closed for the season (really, July is not a great time of year to be camping in the desert southwest) or has not yet recovered from the fire.

Cool little spot in the middle of nowhere. Owners seemed nice but we were beat from the heat and didn’t hang out, though we were offered a cold beer. Sites 2 and 3 are right on top of each other so if someone else was camping there would have been no privacy. You are in a gravel parking lot behind the old saloon.

Kathy’s spot was perfect! Right between Death Valley and Las Vegas you get the best of both worlds. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Having full hookups were perfect in the Nevada heat. Absolutely will stay again!

Well Kathy's place was found as expected with full hook-ups. I was looking forward to having a cold beer in her Saloon, but unfortunately the Saloon caught fire 5 days prior and was mostly destroyed. Loyal patrons have a Go-Fund program going to try to help her re-build. Hopefully they can.Wemet Kathy in the morning before we left and she would be a great person to help out. Her camping is still available and definitely worth the price.

Kathy's place was quite and peaceful. It was also very centrally located to visit Death Valley National Park, Devils hole, Las Vegas and Titus Canyon...all the places we wanted to visit. We put a total of 600 miles on our rental car but that was better then using the RV.

It was a very quiet spot with the saloon closed the night we were there. Your away from the highway noise. Beautiful mountains and sky in the evening. Porta potty could use a little help. Overall very pleasant.

My friend and I got into camp late but Kathy was quick with messaging to help us out when needed and extremely kind! I’m sad we were able to be there during saloon hours but it’s a beautiful area to camp!

I arrived late and left very early so we didn’t get to meet, but Kathy was a very communicative host and gave me great directions to her campsite. The spot was just what I needed for the night. The area was quiet and peaceful. Would definitely recommend!

The site was very quiet at night with a beautiful desert scenery. It is located behind Ms. Kathy's Bar but the bar is only open until 8:00PM. Kathy was very responsive to any inquiry and everyone we met was very friendly. Access was easy, 3 miles from the main road on a paved road. It is a remote area. Very easy to get to Death Valley National Park, multiple stores available in Pahrump NV about 20 miles away.

Make sure you stay here! She also is on Airbnb… We were car camping. Kathi is fantastic! I really enjoyed chatting with her. Getting to visit with small-town America is such a blessing.

Things to look forward to Private, Spacious, and Desolate. The best part about this campsite is that it's cost-effective and includes all the hook-ups. This site only rents 1-3 spaces at a time and it is directly behind the 'Short Branch Saloon' which is convenient if you want a cold drink or cooked food. {I might add the food was GRAND}.
The Host named Kathy is a BIG Sweetheart! She welcoming but also leaves you to enjoy the wide-open space. The area is peaceful, with desert scenery, and mountain views. The dogs really liked exploring the landscape as we did 12-mile walks. It was super WINDY the weekend we arrived so prepare just in case-also bring CASH for the Saloon Restaurant {no cards/no Atms} and there is no INTERNET.
We could care less about not having Wifi but if you like the comfort of TV, Radio, Cell Phone use-there is little to none. Bring board games, cards, books, and hiking equipment. This is true camping-not many houses out there or people. We did not encounter any wild animals or anything to harm our pets.
There was a bonus dog park called "Crystal Park" just a half-mile from the campsite. Walking distance and it's fully enclosed so your dogs can roam free and the kids can play on the limited playground with picnic tables/benches.
Another Hipcamper mentioned taking the Pahrump route and they were correct-better views and no unpaved/dirt roads. The Saloon was also clean, nice atmosphere, and good food choices. We socially distanced as did the Host.
Great experience, would recommend and stay again-definitely for the price, solace, saloon, and all the HOOK-UPS!

Kathy was very nice and welcomed us with a big smile. She's only about an hour from Death Valley National Park and even closer to another wilderness area. We didn't hang around much as we had some sight seeing to do but she told us where the water, sewer and electric were and let us do our thing. Our spot gave me a wizard of oz sort of feel..lol. It was quiet too. Thanks Kathy! We will definitely recommend you!
