Nebraska’s iconic Chimney Rock is just 8 miles south, Scotts Bluff National Monument 25 miles west, and Carhenge 40 miles northeast, making day trips easy. At night, the Milky Way fills the sky—so bright it feels close enough to touch.
The campsite is tucked along Wildhorse Creek, shaded by trees and surrounded by wildlife. Deer, raccoons, and native birds are frequent visitors, and rainbow and brown trout glide through the water (no fishing allowed).
In summer, you may spot Farmer Billy tending crops or setting irrigation at sunrise or sunset—it’s all part of the rhythm of farm life here. During October, it’s Pumpkin Patch season, and campers are welcome to enjoy all the fall vibes BE Farm has to offer.
BE Farm is a welcoming, inclusive, and friendly farm space. All are invited to come as they are and enjoy the farm with respect for one another and the land.
Please note: From mid-September through the end of October, the farm is open to the public on Fridays (4 p.m.–dark), Saturdays (10 a.m.–9 p.m.), and Sundays (10 a.m.–6 p.m.). While other guests will be on the property during these hours, the campsite is set off to the side and designed to remain quiet and undisturbed.

The view was beautiful! Although it is a ways off the highway most of the way was paved. The hosts were friendly and even provided us with fresh fruit. Be aware you are next to a cow pasture so flies may be an issue in late summer. The outhouse was acceptable. The water is via a hose which brought back great memories of childhood. Firewood was available.

This was a wonderful stop on my post-retirement road trip. It's in a beautiful spot off the beaten track (aka Interstate 80). Both Karen and Marty were very gracious - Marty to me and my two dogs out to see the buffalo in his pickup truck, which was amazing. The Nest is cozy and well-supplied. I highly recommend this Hipcamp.

I came here from Colorado for a weekend getaway and wasn't disappointed. The farm and flowers are beautiful. The spot I camped was right next to a little river. The owner, Billy, was very nice and helpful. The farm cat Sir Gordon camped with me for the weekend. You can pick and make your own flower arrangement during season. There is a water spigot and firewood for sale . The closest store is a dollar general about 10 minutes away. Farm is about 30 minutes east of Scott's Bluff Monument.

We had a fantastic time at my horse Campground. Billy‘s farm offered a very unique opportunity to be able to see and be part of a working farm in action. Billy was friendly and helpful. Interacting us to the campsite where we had adequate water and shade pretty much anything you could ask for he had thoughtfully delivered firewood to the site for us to use in the fire ring and showed us where how to get more in case we needed it. If you want your kids to have the opportunity to have a tractor driving lesson or see how commercial flowers or pumpkins are raised. This is your place. Billy can direct you to many other recreational opportunities in the area. Very close to Scott’s Bluff and chimney rockWe will go back here to camp anytime we get the opportunity to do so. Super fun we highly recommend it!!.

We only spent one night as a stopover on our way to Colorado. We got their after the store hours but after a text someone was there quickly to personally escort us to our spot and make sure we knew where everything was and all was good. Very personable. The grounds were very clean and well maintained. We got there too late to check out the mini-golf, but it looked cute. Good free internet service. We would make a point of staying here again if we were in the area.

Francis's land was a great find. If you are ever in the area I would highly recommend staying there. The road leading to the property was actually well maintained and smooth going over the cattle guards. It was peaceful and not a person in sight. Was exactly what our group wanted. Plenty of places to setup camp.

A fun little stay on a bison farm! It was incredibly soothing to fall asleep to the sound of crickets and the bison. The view at sunset and sunrise cannot be beat. The place was perfect for my one night stop in town and had everything I could have needed! The shower and laundry were extra appreciated after a long travel day. Close to town and easy to access! Francis' place is lovely. My dog and I walked down to the Niobrara River as soon as we woke up and it was gorgeous. I also had a chance to speak with him for a while. He's a very knowledgeable and friendly guy with an impressive cattle and crop operation. Even though it was a little cloudy, I could still see more stars than I would have been able to see on a clear day in the Minnesota city where I live. Thanks, Francis!

This was honestly one of the best stays I've had, and one of the best night's sleep that I've experienced. At night I opened up the windows and the crickets serenaded me to sleep. In the morning I woke up to the birds singing, baby bunnies playing, and the herd of bison nearby.
The hosts are wonderful people, and they give you everything you need for a perfect glamping experience. Town is nearby for food or anything else you need.
As a bonus a school field trip arrived for a tour and I got to ride along with them, which was the perfect end to a perfect stay. I was ready to move in, it was such a great experience!

Where to go
The Nebraska Panhandle
Northwestern Nebraska's sparsely populated panhandle is home to a mix of wide-open expanses of grasslands and unusual geologic features, a couple of which—namely Scotts Bluff and Agate Fossil Beds—have been preserved as national monuments by the National Park Service. Popular camping areas include Chadron State Park and Toadstool Geologic Park, which gets its name for its mushroom-shaped rock formations.
Central Nebraska
Central Nebraska is characterized by a mix of expansive grasslands and pioneer-era sites, with plenty of ways to experience the great outdoors. The Sandhills area is home to the Niobara National Scenic River, a popular spot to kayak and innertube in the hot summer months. Other highlights include the Massacre Canyon Monument, which marks the site of a battle between the Sioux and Pawnee people. Many of the region’s lakes and reservoirs also have campgrounds, including the adjacent Lake McConaughy and Lake Ogallala State Recreation Areas, as well as the Victoria Springs State Recreation Area and Medicine Creek State Recreation Area.
Eastern Nebraska
Much of Nebraska's best camping is in the northeastern corner of the state, owing largely to its proximity to the Missouri River—Indian Cave State Park is a particularly fun spot to explore. Birders should check out DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge, which provides a rest area for ducks and geese during their fall migration. Eastern Nebraska is also a great place to learn about the Indigenous people of the region, particularly in Niobrara, home to the Ponca Tribal Museum and the Ponca Educational Trail and Earthlodge. Ponca State Park’s developed and primitive camping make for great boating, swimming, and wildlife spotting.
Omaha Surrounds
Nebraska's closest thing to a big city, Omaha offers a mix of indoor and outdoor attractions, from the botanical displays and natural areas at the Lauritzen Gardens to the Joslyn Art Museum, which features works from the likes of Titian and Renoir. Omaha is also a good base for getting to state parks along the Platte River, including Mahoney State Park and Platte River State Park.
