We are near Yellowstone National Park as well as Bozeman, MT which offers all types of recreational opportunities e.g. hiking, fishing, climbing, skiing, cycling and running trails. VanGoBoon is the perfect "Pull-in for the Night" as well as week-long stays! Most of our sites are SELF-CONTAINED. We have 4 sites that have electric and water hookups. (20,30,50amp) The lawn area has horseshoes, frisbee golf, and corn toss. We mostly offer dry campsites for overnight stays for vans, tents or RVs . Most sites are on concrete slabs so they are level and the property has grass areas with trees as well. FYI: Great site if you like trains! An important part of Montana’s commerce is transportation by rail so there will be highway and train noise. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to have noise-cancelation devices handy. We live on 10 acres of mixed forest and field. In the summer we have an active blacksmithing school and flower farm here. We are a horse boarding ranch south of Livingston that caters to people traveling with horses or other people traveling and camping. Leashed dogs are welcome, but we ask that you clean up after your dog so another camper doesn't have the misfortune of stepping in it. We are located exactly 2 miles from the interstate south of the lovely town of Livingston. We will not allow large party gatherings for local concerts. I will give a forewarning that Livingston is a windy place, especially when storms are coming through. I try to help accommodate tents during these times by letting people set them up in the barn if needed. Please stay attention to checking the weather during your stay so I can try to hep accommodate. Learn more about this land: Quiet, private place with views of the Crazy mountains and the Absaroka mountains south of Livingston that caters to overnight people camping with their horses. We are allowing people to stay without horses. There is plenty of room for larger rigs. Electricity may be available depending on availability and the area you chose to camp in. We are 2 miles exactly from the interstate south of Livingston and 50 miles from Yellowstone Park. There is a bathroom with a sink and toilet along with a separate shower for usage by guests. We have a playground open for use by our guests. We offer a Keurig coffee station. We also have a microwave, a toaster oven, and a pay for use washer and dryer.

The Mooseshroom is an awesome camping community that is just 7 miles from the west side of Glacier National Park. Community fire pits near the Commons are a short walk from whichever tent spot guests are assigned. The Commons also houses the bathrooms and inside/outside kitchen areas. There is plenty of seating, hammocks and picnic tables for guests to use as well. We also have two yurts available for booking on our property. The Mooseshroom is a licensed business that is limited to hosting 18 guests per night. Guests should expect a quiet, peaceful camping experience with plenty of room to enjoy their surroundings. ***This property is adjacent Highway 2 and there is a fair amount of road noise. There's also a train that's fairly close. The noise kinda comes with the territory, guests are also 10 minutes from the west entrance to the park. The noise does tend to subside considerably at night, but for those bothered by this type of noise, you might consider an alternate location. Most guests are truly fine with it.

Learn more about this land: We are 20 miles east of Missoula, MT near the Kettlehouse Ampitheater in Bonner. Our location is halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. There are mountain bike paths, river access points for paddling, rafting or fishing within minutes of our land. We can even help you know where to go. Our land is surrounded by Nature Conservancy land with a public recreation easement, so you can hike and take your horse for a ride very easily, just let us know and we will point you in the right direction. Our child had a significant medical emergency that required a lot of travel to Seattle Children's and 4 brain surgeries recently, so we are just getting the garden back up and running and the sheep are happy. Unfortunately no chickens this year. In a vehicle, you can pull into one of our pastures for your stay. Where you are depends on which field the sheep are eating! Tents also work in the field. We do not have any hookups, but there is potable water in the blue hydrant by the yellow tube. The fields are that - pasture fields. There are quiet neighbors across the fence who now have goats on one side. We are happy to offer advice about local attractions via messaging. This is pack it in, pack it out.

Perfect campsite close to Glacier NP! We had the entire camp to ourselves with the exception of a few campers spread out on the RV section. The individual sites were huge! Each with a picnic table and fire ring. Ours had an adorable dog house that was a bit small for my big boy but so sweet nonetheless! Outhouses were spacious and clean. Jake was so kind and friendly, making sure everything was okay and letting us know about the wood available. Would absolutely recommend and stay again!

I don't think Charlie is doing enough to promote his spot!! I looked at the pictures and knew I was booking a field but what you don't see if the view around the field. Mountains near by, deer grazing around you and an area with so much life in its simplicity. I do fully understand why it's promoted as hot shower Kalispell, holy cow what a shower!!! You have to stay at least a night and try it, it's better than my house! There's fresh well water to drink that tastes so good. I stayed with my boys and we absolutely loved it. Definitely plan to stay again!

Beautiful place in a great location for exploring Glacier without being in the park. Pam was very quick respond to my questions about firewood and weather before we arrived. When we arrived, the spot next to the one we booked looked better suited for our needs. I reached out to Pam and we were able to switch to the other site no problem. There was lots of firewood provided which was a nice bonus and the porta potty was very clean. The camp is on a residential road and several friendly neighbors were walking and driving by in the mornings and evenings. Not a problem for us, just be aware it’s not a super secluded place. Otherwise was very peaceful!

A great space! It was big, quiet, shaded, near a few ponds, and close to the highway. It was easy to find. We were greeted by a turtle and a rabbit. The outhouse was clean. Recommend!

Bring your hammocks for site 14! Lots of great trees for lounging and shade. You can catch glimmers of the large pond in the morning and evening through the trees.

T4 was a spacious secluded tree lined alcove just far enough away from the other sites. Big enough for tent and a canopy tent as well. The weather was wet this weekend but the clean bathrooms made us comfortable. This was first time in sites but it was nice to be in trees. Great location for Pine Creek music weekend. Very friendly host. Camp spots were spaced out enough that it felt private. Music themed bath house was the best. We'll come back for sure!

Weekend Trip to Jammin Jackalope Camping

Fabulous campground. The sites were private. It was very clean. Fantastic amenities like shower, hot water, bathrooms. I purchased a tent site. It was very comfortable. They also hat teepees and cabins. The caretaker was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was 100% satisfied and would highly recommend this place visiting Pine Creek lodge or wherever. For those that don’t know, it is located next to a music venue

Weekend Trip to Jammin Jackalope Camping

This HipCamp was top notch!! I stayed here all weekend and enjoyed music at the Pine Creek Lodge which is right next door. The host was extremely kind, accommodating and the bathrooms were nicer here than at any hotel or HipCamp I’ve ever stayed at. They were always clean and really nice to be able to wash up each day. I absolutely will be back to Montana at some point and this will be the place to stay! Thank you!

Where to go

Glacier Country

Northwestern Montana's Glacier Country is characterized by massive forests, craggy peaks, and long expanses of wilderness, with plenty of wildlife to boot. It's also home to Glacier National Park, where you'll find hundreds of miles of hiking trails along with tons of developed and backcountry camping options.

Southwest Montana

In the heart of Montana's Big Sky country, just west of Yellowstone National Park, this region is characterized by cute towns (notably Butte and Helena), historic ghost towns (a remnant of the region's historic mining industry), and relaxing hot springs. Popular camping areas include Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park and Bannack State Park.

Yellowstone Country

If you're headed to Yellowstone Country, it's likely with a visit to Yellowstone National Park in mind, but there's plenty more to do in the region, from hiking the Lake Fork Trail to checking out the restaurant and brewery scene in Bozeman. Yellowstone itself is, of course, a must-visit, but if you can’t find camping in the massive—and ever so popular—national park, you may have better luck snagging something in Custer Gallatin National Forest.

Central Montana

Central Montana offers all sorts of opportunities for outdoor recreation, rain or shine. Summer activities include fishing, horseback riding, and camping, while spots such as Showdown Mountain, Teton Pass Ski Resort, and Bear Paw Ski Bowl offer skiing and snowboarding. The region also has plenty of state parks, including Sluice Boxes State Park, Giant Springs State Park, and First Peoples Buffalo State Park.

Eastern Montana

Vast and expansive, eastern Montana features sparse landscapes dotted with the occasional herd of cattle, and plenty of room to get out and explore. You can take in views of the Badlands from Makoshika State Park or the Badlands Wilderness Study Area, or camp under the open sky in the expansive Custer National Forest. If you'd like to get out on the water, the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area is the place to go, with boat rentals available.
