After riding my packed bicycle up from Hamilton, this spot felt like an absolute gift. Everything was already set up and waiting for me—tent, coffee maker, chairs, canopy, and even a perfect little nook to park my bike out of the dew. The host met me right as I rolled in, greeted me warmly, made sure I had what I needed, and then gave me the freedom to settle in and enjoy the space. That balance of hospitality and independence is hard to beat.
The campsite itself is peaceful, private, and thoughtfully arranged. You can tell the host cares about creating a comfortable experience, not just a place to crash. I didn’t need much, but I got far more than I expected. After a long ride, having everything ready to go felt downright luxurious.
The surrounding area is quiet and beautiful, and the setup made it easy to unwind and enjoy the evening without fuss.
Overall, this was one of the best bikepacking stopovers I’ve had. Exceeded expectations in every way.
My daughter and I spent the very last night of our 2 week Montana road trip at this amazing place. We actually had already been to the property on our 2nd night of the trip when we stayed in the glamping tent,which we absolutely loved and highly recommend. Even though the cabin is just about perfect,we preferred the tent site because it's completely private,whereas at the cabin,the very cool property owners are within direct sight of you. Not a big issue. Just something to note. The property is big and beautiful. We spent a lot of time at the main creek. So fun! We just love this place! And the cabin is awesome and adorable.

Holmestead Glamping
Awesome setup, a small walk to the creek, very nice hosts including the many darling dogs. Would definitely recommend we had an amazing time.
This place was amazing. My grandson and I were out on our yearly trip and normally we just camp out at the state local county campsites. When we were looking for a campsites my grandson who is 13 ran into this one and said let's give it a try. It was so much fun we didn't have to carry our gear in we didn't have to set up campsites The bed was already there we had this great place right by the river with wicker chairs right there for us to sit. When it came time to dinner all of the accessories were already there All we had to do was cook and then clean and put it away. Same thing for breakfast I just boiled some water and my grandson had some oatmeal I had some tea enjoyed our morning sitting right there by the tent. When it came time to pack up we literally only had our clothes and that was it everything else was provided and that was such a relief. We had way more time to connect and enjoy what we were doing there and not having to take so much time to pack stuff in just to survive. I will most definitely book another trip there with different grandkids so they can see how amazing that is.
Mill Creek adjacent to the site is lovely. The hosts welcomed us upon arrival and were gracious and kind.
We were just passing through and it was a great place to crash overnight. 20 minutes from Missoula, and there are a few things closer by.
It was a tranquil, private, and safe spot on a beautiful parcel of land!
Note: the toilet is a portable RV toilet, so not ideal for everyone.

Holmestead Glamping
We loved our stay at this beautiful, peaceful location.
We were booked for the campsite, but due to steady rain the host graciously upgraded us to the cabin. It is a cozy, rustic spot...right next to the stream. We would definitely return.
I ended up at Cody’s at kind of the last second and he and his wife were very welcoming and easy to communicate with. The space is really clean and well kept. Me and my dogs slept great. I would have booked another night but had plans for the next evening already. I highly recommend this spot - a steal for the price.

Place was easy to find and right off the freeway for easy access. Cabin was perfect for what we needed and Eric was more than accommodating. We wish we had more time to relax and enjoy the Montana area cause it's super beautiful out there. Definitely worth visiting ☺️
We stayed in the dry cabin while traveling home from our hiking trip. It was perfect! Cody and his family were very welcoming, to include his dog! The cabin itself is amazing! It’s clean and well taken care of. There is also a little seating area down by the creek to hang out and enjoy the sounds of nature. We also saw a ton of deer around. I would 10/10 stay here again.

The Holmestead Dry Cabin
This place is magical! The little seasonal creek in front of the cabin, the tall cottonwoods, the bigger creek tucked into the trees and even the purple flowers of the thistle as you walk the trail to get there were all so beautiful. We spent our days on the cabin porch listening to bird song and enjoying visits from the hummingbirds, Pumpkin the cat and the friendliest dogs who brightened our mornings. Cody was an awesome host, accommodating and helpful. Having spent most of our journey tent camping, the cabin was a luxury - clean and cozy with comfortable beds, a powerful fan for a warm day and a little grill and hot plate for warm meals. We loved it so much we extended our stay by a day and can't wait to go back!
This was a very charming cabin with access to a beautiful creek to swim in. We enjoyed our stay.

The cabin is adorable. It's very clean and has cute rustic touches. It worked out well for us because we were pulling a trailer and needed a place to meet relatives who were traveling by car. They slept in the cabin while we slept in our trailer. We cooked meals and ate together in the cabin.

We enjoyed the rustic cabin, the beautiful acreage, Homer Creek, and helpful Cody. The property is both close enough to Missoula for quick trip to town and far enough away for the quiet and beauty of nature. Good for people who like to camp and appreciate a microwave!
We loved getting to stay at Cody's cabin. It was cozy and beautiful and had everything we needed. If you like camping and you like cabins, you'll love this place.

Cody's land was gorgeous, and he was extremely accommodating for my father and I on our motorcycle trip. Not only was the cabin spotless and perfect for our needs, but he also prepped out the fire pit for us so that we were able to immediately start a roaring fire at the end of a long adventure day. Cody's communication was great, and we felt like welcome guests on his property. I would absolutely stay here again and was sad that it was only one night!
We loved the awesome old Tapper cabin at the Holmstead! The cabin was spotless, comfortable, and had tons of charm. Cody and his family were helpful, responsive, and very welcoming!! The beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed for a peaceful night in the woods, yet still convenient to Missoula! Highly recommend!!
This little cabin in the woods is magical. The little waterway that surrounds this spot can be heard at night and is a great way to quickly cool off from the mid-day sun. Cody and Andrea clearly have put a lot of time, energy, and love into the place, their property, and the land around it; it’s cozy, has more amenities than I was expecting, and it just feels safe out there. My dog was able to roam freely around their property while I read in my hammock out on the porch, or while I watched the sunset out by the creek. The area is absolutely beautiful and Cody was kind enough to offer me and my dog a tour in his 4x4 the first morning. Their dogs are so sweet and friendly and I loved the quality time I got with them in the evenings. I genuinely appreciated all the accommodations, and how friendly and respectful the hosts were while I was there. The Homestead is in a great location— close to Missoula yet far enough out that you get to be embraced by nature. I really enjoyed the time I got to spend with my dog and felt incredibly recharged after just a few nights out there.

The Holmes’s cabin is such a beautiful, precious, and homey slice of nature. Cody is lovely and accommodating, and I couldn’t have felt safer staying there as a young woman traveling alone. Definitely check out this little oasis!

Love this sweet little cabin and the wonderful family who hosts. We wish we had more time here to chill and enjoy the nearby creek, the front porch sitting and the peacefulness. My husband and I and a friend stayed over en route to Helena. We got to meet Cody and his lovely family, the cabin was perfect with a very comfy queen bed and futon. We loved the easy access to Missoula and sitting on the front porch with drinks while listening to the bubbling of the creek. Really a wonderful spot and exactly as described. Highly recommend it to anyone passing through.
Super cute cabin! Loved seeing all the stars. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed playing in the creeks - wading, catching frogs, catching water bugs. Enjoyed drinking coffee and reading on front porch. Didn’t see any elk. But loved seeing a doe and two fawns scamper in the woods. The Porta Potty was super clean and convenient distance. Cody and his family were super friendly and accommodating. My daughter is already asking to return.
