We have a small vegetable garden in the spring and summer and a large flower garden space in progress. There's a small pond on the property. In additions to cows, we also have chickens, barn cats, and dogs. We have a second driveway and half-circle drive for parking a camper or car, as well as flat spaces to pitch a tent. There is fishing nearby at the Amarugia Highlands Conservation Area and the city park.

Today, we call it Fanthorn Forest and it's our dream, our haven and our home. We have woods and pasture with Settle's Ford Wildlife area (fishing and hiking available) 1/4 mile away. Camping is primitive with only an outhouse and no shower facilities. There are MANY thorn trees, so hikers must have proper footwear. Fire ring, wood and a grate for cooking are provided. Livestock encounters are also available with owners in attendance. All proceeds are put back in the farm to care for the animals and the land. RV's are allowed, but we do not have any hook ups available and they are not allowed in the woods. Parking area is at the end of the driveway for both cars and RV's. We love kids and will provide lawn darts or any other games we have available if requested. The campground was very clean and well kept! The most helpful and hospitable hosts, Spore and Matt are amazing :). They helped us get firewood set up and showed us around. It is so much fun to wonder around and I highly recommend the DM cabin. You get to wake up right next to donkeys and goats (didn’t smell at all) and the diversity of birds was fantastic!

Milo Farms really is a magical place. Great hiking trails with little to no poison ivy. That is a big deal for me being severely allergic. All the wonderful people who keep the farm running are so nice and they are always happy to help. As a solo camper, I felt very safe as well.

Weekend Trip to Fangthorn Forest

I just can’t say enough wonderful things about this experience. The hosts are so kind and caring. The camping spot was in a clearing with a short walk across a bridge. There was a great fire pit and Layne kept it stocked with wood. He even provided a gas torch that made starting fires easy and fun. In addition to this beautiful, quiet camping spot….a nearby fairy cove was beautifully situated which made for hours of reading. In the middle of the pasture, a gated area with additional space for hanging out with the animals was a two minute walk from my camping spot. All weekend long, I enjoyed getting to know all the animals. Each animal has a name and a personality. I loved the horses but quickly began to appreciate the cattle, alpacas, llama, pig, cats and dogs. The rescued animals are healthy, well-fed and loved. It was the most restful and unique camping experience. The owners added some great fall/Halloween decorations that thrills the kid in all of us. Kids would really benefit from this environment. I had no problem getting cell service but wouldn’t have minded either way. The sunsets were especially gorgeous. The hosts left me to myself but didn’t mind when I had questions- they are so smart. I enjoyed my stay so much I added another day on. I got to take my gravel bike out and explore all the nearby areas. Being able to bike was an added bonus. I am already excited to bring my grandson back!

A True Hidden Gem! Pictures Don't Do It Justice! My wife and I had the most wonderful weekend camping at Harmony Lake! From the moment we arrived, the hosts, Joan and Ken, were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. They keep the property in absolutely immaculate condition. We needed electricity for our site, and Ken made it happen without any trouble at all. The views from our tent overlooking the lake were breathtaking—the definition of camping luxury! We spent our time relaxing and filming our new Coody Dome tent for our YouTube channel, "Gear Up, Go Explore!", and this location was the perfect backdrop. The description and photos online don't do this place justice; it truly exceeded our expectations. The property has fantastic amenities, like clean showers, restrooms, and even communal propane grills and a kitchen area, which saves so much space when packing. We loved the little touches, like the friendly animals, the floating bridge to the island retreat, and the well-stocked lake for catch-and-release fishing. For just $15, they provide a very generous amount of high-quality firewood, which was super convenient. Whether you're looking for a private, basic site in the woods or a full hookup site by the water, they have options. Our advice: book fast, because this place is amazing! Thank you, Joan and Ken, for an unforgettable experience. We will definitely be back!
