Weekend Trip to Sunset MountainMy wife and I were very pleased with our stay at Sunset Mountain. The place is very scenic with wonderful views of rolling pastures and forest. The campground is rustic but not at all shabby, unlike some C/O places we've been. I can tell that a lot of work is put into maintaining the grounds and keeping them tidy. The trailer was well-maintained, clean, and comfortable.
The hiking trails were a little rough, but not a problem if you wear decent walking or hiking shoes and can handle short hills. We met one fellow on the trails doing them in flip-flops, and he sort of regretted that. Hiking naked really is the best part of the stay.
James and Amy, the owners, are pleasant and helpful people who bring a comfortable vibe to the place. Facility improvements are in process, too, and I know that in the months and years to come, it will be an even more delightful place to stay or camp. We definitely plan to return.
