All You Need is a 111 acre paradise that is home to some VERY unique and endangered habitat. Our northern boundary is a tract of DeSoto National Forest, where we have practically exclusive access to another 90 acres of longleaf pine savannah and more bottomland creeks.
The sandhills are a "desert in the rain," home to prickly pear cactus and yuccas, abundant lichens (deer "moss"), the endangered black pine snake, and our mascot, the also endangered Gopher Tortoise.
We're a nature education and retreat center where we share permaculture practices, homesteading/sustainable living skills, conservation practices, and approaches to connecting more deeply to the land. Check out our sister non-profit, the Burrow Nature Center.
You will have access to our many walking paths and our swimming pond, as well as a 15 minute walk to part of DeSoto National Forest, which butts up to our property line.
We would love to have you as our guest on the land, and are especially eager to meet travelers who deeply love nature and want to live in better relationship to it!

95 acres on the beautiful Topisaw Creek. Here we've raised 5 kids and a multitude of dogs, cats and chickens and a small herd of pineywoods cattle. The woods are quiet and undisturbed , harboring native species like jack in the pulpit, trillium and Florida anise. The spring-fed (and thus always refreshing!) Topisaw Creek forms the eastern border of our property, so plan to spend time on the sandy beaches and rock bars soaking up the sun or hunting for rocks and fossils (petrified wood and arrowheads have been found here). Many folks also enjoy a leisurely float down the creek in inner tubes ('tubing') or in a kayak. (Please note that after heavy rains the creek rises to epic heights and is too dangerous to navigate.) Wildlife abounds with deer, rabbit, squirrel, fox, racoon, opossum, armadillo, chipmunk among other forest dwellers. The lake is in a natural flood bottom and is stocked with largemouth bass, perch, channel catfish and natural flathead catfish which came in through the creek which runs through the land.

Since 2012, we have been offering great cabin rentals, RV and tents sites on the creek. We offer three different cabins to help you recharge, unwind, and relax at beautiful Red Creek in Perkinston, MS.
There’s plenty of water within walking distance of the cabin to toss a fishing line, take a swim, or launch your boat/kayak. Relax on the sandbar, cool off in the creek, enjoy a blazing fire by the fire pit, the worries and stresses of daily life simply disappear. You wanted to get away from it all and you can! Our location is off the beaten path, yet close to everything Biloxi/Gulfport has to offer. Mississippi country estate. Come enjoy the tranquility. Off the beaten path. Quiet. Your phone may even stop ringing. This is my post divorce, pre retirement project. First the camping, then the stables and finally a BNB. I'm a union member and veteran. My property caretaker is also a veteran. Please come for a visit, enjoy our hospitality and leave recharged.

Site #1 was the perfect camping spot for my partner and our dogs. It was very peaceful and quiet. Easy walk from where you park to where you camp. The trails were well maintained. At night, the sound of frogs was easy to sleep to. Highly recommend. Will go back.

Very peaceful- the area is large, beautiful and relaxing. Horses grazing in the pasture, gorgeous sunrise & a friendly host made our night out camping fun. Clean restrooms available and a funny pair of donkeys by the barn. We walked the trail area with our dogs and enjoyed every moment.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed there. Again they treated us like family and with kindness and always helpful if we needed anything. I would highly recommend staying here if you are camping or in a camper anywhere around Bruce and water valley. It is a very pretty piece of property with lots of places to walk on trails or ride and 2 nice lakes you can fish. It is a great place to get away and relax for a couple of days.

We stayed at camp site 8 which had the woods behind us and an open field in front. Even though we were not tucked in the woods, the spot still offered constant shade for our tent and plenty of shade around the rest of the area. Perfect spot for our trip with 2 young kids and 2 dogs. The creek was pretty cool, kids definelty could spend all day there but id highly recommend to wear water shoes in the water and on the sand/rocks.

Beautiful property that is a short drive from good hiking spots and Tupelo. Kitchenette area is a separate sun room, with comfortable seating, and is a nice bonus. There was no hot water when we were there and one of the neighbors was very loud (very loud TV or sound system - but not much the hosts can do about that).

Where to go
Mississippi’s Gulf Coast
Some of the state’s most divine camping is found along the Gulf Coast. Gulf Islands National Seashore protects over 135,000 acres of the mainland and barrier islands in Mississippi and Florida. Hike amid the sand dunes, hit the waters in a boat or kayak, go deep-sea fishing, or explore wonders under the waters. Further inland, Clark Creek Nature Area is a fascinating landscape, with 700 acres of bluffs and pines. The National Park Service’s Davis Bayou Campground can accommodate tent and RV camping within the National Seashore. Private RV parks and glamping rentals can be found in beachside towns like Ocean Springs and Biloxi. Or, venture along the coast to find Gulfport and Bay St. Louis and more.
Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail
One way to explore the state is with a drive along the NPS’s Natchez Trace Parkway. Crossing three states, the bulk of the parkway runs diagonally across Mississippi along a 444-mile route paralleling the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail. It offers a trek through time, following pathways formed by Native Americans, early European settlers, and more. The National Park Serve offers three first-come-first-served primitive campgrounds along the Natchez Trace. Campsites are free and can accommodate both tents and RVs. Plan a longer stop in Natchez, which has several private RV parks and glamping options, including Natchez State Park. This town overlooks the Mississippi River and offers a lot of character.
Northern Mississippi
Northern Mississippi is home to the state’s mountains. They may not be as high as other peaks, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t scenic. This small section of the Appalachians is home to Tishomingo State Park, an unexpected land of ferns, waterfalls, and craggy bluffs. A wooded campground offers RV sites and primitive tent camping. Two grand lakes provide recreation and scenery. Sardis Lake is a popular camping area to the west, and Bay Springs Lake is a favorite in the east. The Army Corps of Engineers operates several waterfront campgrounds.
