We are currently *under construction*. Our forest was damaged by the draught and so there are changes underway. Please excuse our appearance as we shift toward becoming a food forest.
Solomon's Garden is a 5 acre homestead located in the Black Warrior River valley. Our site is currently under land work construction, as we are recovering from the pine beetle disaster that has ravaged Alabama. Our beautiful pine trees are no more and we are in the process of rebuilding the campground, planting a food forest and adding an additional shower/toilet facility.
We currently have a semi-private camping area in our small orchard that is flat and grassy that we recommend for tent campers on any day. We also have a larger, more remote camp area available on dry days. We expect land work to be complete in June and are eagerly awaiting the grass, wildflowers and native herbs to return following all this spring rain.

PLEASE NOTE: I don't consider our location good for one night travel stop over. Our location is remote. We are 40 miles from Meridian, MS (I20/59); 20 miles from Philadelphia, MS; and 28 miles from Hwy 45 and Hwy 21 intersection. Although we get a lot of one night stays, the best reviews come from campers who want to rest and relax in a country setting for a few days.
Family farm consisting of pasture, pine tree forest, rolling hills and farm ponds. One RV site is beside a forest in a pasture. It's our premium site with 50 amp power, water, and sewer. It's quiet and peaceful.
Our original site is across from our house adjacent to our farm shed. It has 50 amp power and water. It's close to the public road so there is more noise. I consider it our secondary site for overflow.
Suggested Local Attractions: Don't leave until you've visited Sciples Mill. The best time is Saturday for a live tour. It's a 200+ year old water powered grist mill.

The property is spacious and former home site on beautiful Lake Tuscaloosa. There are full hookups (50 and 30 amp), sewer and water, and Wifi. There is lakefront access via your own personal boat dock, fire pits, and various seating areas. We recently added an outdoor building with washer and dryer, bathroom/changing room, outdoor shower AND a hot tub that overlooks the lake. There is a public boat launch just down the road along with lakefront restaurants and boat rental establishments nearby. There are multiple convenient stores, grocery stores, a Dollar General and even a hardware store just down the road.
At this time, we are allowing guests to camp in our RV on-site (what we call "transient occupancy").

We loved camping in the pasture near a serene pond sheltered by rows of pine trees. Woke up to birds chirping in the pine woods. Danny set us up with electrical and dumping service. As well as access to water. It was a drive in for a quick one night stay as we traveled back to WI but would be worth it for a longer stay. Danny was very friendly-when we come back we will bring him some squeaky cheese curds!

You can try to say Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway ten times fast OR you can just call it like the locals do, the Tenn-Tom. Go ahead and throw a dart at this 234 stretch of water and you’re bound to find an adventure suited to your needs with 10 lakes, locks, and dams the Tenn-Tom is a carnival of outdoor exploration. Hop in your boat and head to Bay Springs Lake, or canoe yourself all the way down into Alabama...yes, you can go that far! At each stop along the Tenn-Tom you’ll find hooked up camping, playgrounds, fishing docks, trails, swimming, and even summer concerts or more primitive and quiet sites. We suggest you just call off work and spend your summer exploring the whole shebang! Give us a ring once you reach the end, we’ll come pick you up from your rockin’ Tenn-Tom adventure.
