Maybe the most unique site you’ll ever find. So much history wrapped up in the walls of this former cotton gin. Together with its close proximity to Clarksdale made it the perfect location during the annual Juke Joint Festival.

This Hipcamp was fantastic. Debbie came out to greet us as we set up. The picnic table with lights and a view of the pond was amazing, especially when the deer came running through. The covered bridge on property was an added bonus view. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Campstie Chris. It was so peaceful and relaxing, and our whole family loved it. It really felt like we were way out in the country, yet it was only a few minutes from town, which was very convenient.
Debbie was very kind and even let us paddleboard on the pond, which the kids absolutely loved and will probably be their favorite memory from the trip. There were horses and donkeys on the property, which was really fun for the kids to see, but they were not too close to the campsite, and there were no animal smells. I was worried about the smells and noise from donkeys. It was not an issue at all. The donkeys are adorable. We hardly noticed them at all.

This area in MS saw a lot of damage due to the ice storm in Jan 2026. This location is secluded and quiet. Lots of fallen tree limbs for a fire, I recommend everyone that can stay there.

Debbie's directions were really clear, and she met me when I arrived to help me find my spot to park. Her place was quiet, peaceful and dark - perfect for sleeping! It was also helpful to have the shared bathroom and shower available to use. I would definitely stay there again when in the area :)

The land is beautiful with areas to spend time at outside the van. My dog loved roaming around the field and seeing the horses and donkeys! She cried when we left! Also indoor bathroom option for toilet and a shower, was a major plus! The host was very responsive to our short booking window and respectful of our sometimes anxious dog, that felt welcoming to us! We look forward to stopping again next time we are driving through the area!

The camp spot was situated on a flat, rocked surface. They had a hose available for use too. The first night I had trouble with the water running down to a trickle every time I turned it on. I reached out to Sheryl and she sent her husband out first thing. Long story short, it was MY FAULT!!🫣 He had already turned the water off, busted the concrete and changed the spigot! I was devastated! They were sooooo sweet about it. I tried to buy them some more concrete, but they weren’t having it. The spot had everything I needed and wanted for my weekend away. The pond, the woods, the fishing….and it’s close to home! We will definitely be back!!

Hike along the serene Swinging Bridge Nature Trail where azaleas fill the forest floor or take your horse out to the Sunfish Bay Trail. There are lush hardwood forests and cool rivers to explore all over the place! And while you might not think of Mississippi for world class sailing, it’s in abundance here and you can sail till the sun sinks into the lake. Little ones can even check out the unique Spirit of America youth boating education programs. There are glamp grounds galore, spots with water views, plenty of picnic spots, and so much fishing you’ll have to be dragged away from the lake shore. We stopped here on our way from Nashville to New Orleans, so glad we did! Beautiful sunset and sunrise, make sure you get a site on the water. The bathrooms were very clean and had tons of HOT water, which was nice after living out of our car for five days, Clean, decent sized sites, I think the ones on the water are a little smaller than the sites on the inside of the campground, but you get the unobstructed view! Our dogs loved walking by the water in the morning.
