Weekend Trip to Whippletree Farm & Nature Trail

This is our second trip to Whippletree and we love it. Easy access, nice add ons like a composting toilet and firewood, great site, and goats! This time we saw 10+ deer and some turkeys…we’ll be back again for sure.

An excellent site. Amenities are as discribed and well maintained. Trails were nice to have on site. Saw lots of animals. Perfect for a weekend trip.

3 nights at Champion Valley

I almost don’t want to write this review, but Matt and Champion Valley deserve it. I worried that I will encourage too many people to start using this site and it will be all booked up and I won’t be able to come back. This site is amazing! The description is very accurate. What I didn’t have an appreciation for was just how isolated and private this site really is. You have the place to yourself! The only “neighbors” are the incredible birds and wildlife to enjoy. The location is spacious. Be ready to switch into 4 wheel drive to get into the site, path in can be muddy and slippery. There is a great spot for a tent pad, commode, or hammock tucked into a stand of trees. On weekends, you can expect to awake to what the location is known for a paintball establishment. The pop of paintballs is all part of the experience. I rate the site a 101 out of 100, 11 out of 10, or 6 out of 5 stars.

Beautiful spots at Gus’s Grove and turtle point! If you have a trailer getting into or out of the spots will be challenging on slick days but worth it 👍

Nice quiet spot for our travel trailer. Only a mile from the Gateway State biking trail. Will be back.

1 night at Champion Valley

This site was ideal for a quick mindfulness stay. I heard a number of coyotes in the evening. As well as watching a couple of beavers work tirelessly on a huge oak tree. Fascinating rodents. I heard them around 2 in the morning. Quietly got out of my tent and crawled to the edge of a pond and there they were. I’ll be going back and I will recommend this site to my friends and family. And having free firewood to gather was an added bonus. Thanks Matt!

We are a small family farm. From April-October we make a living on the farm and enjoy rural life. We’re very busy during these months and if you stay with us you may be able to enjoy fresh produce for purchase- we also have neighbors that sell eggs, there is a Meat shop in downtown Lindstrom and 2 miles away is Rod's Country Corner (ice cream, pizza, sandwiches, essentials). So, you could have the opportunity for some delicious camp food while staying here. It is very beautiful with much to see and do. Things to note: 1. There are black bear in the area, please keep food stowed away in your car at night and your campsite clean. 2. Storms pop-up and tents etc. are subject to wind, please be mindful of the weather and any incidents that occur are not liable to the property owners. When you arrive pull up in the driveway we will direct you to your location... and please park your vehicle close to your site. When you are tent camping this can come in handy during any inclimate weather, which can pop up randomly during the summer months. We have a rustic composting toilet for guest use. Please read the instructions on the inside before using. This is a working farm, it can be unkempt or messy- it is also mosquito forward and wood tick forward-please bring bug spray. Many of our past campers have enjoyed the scenery despite being next to a slightly trafficked road. Also, fireworks are very popular with the neighbors in the area around July 4th. Please respect our quiet time, when the sun goes down-so do we. No Smoking Marijuana or Tobacco on the farm, and no pets. Food: Juneberry Cafe, Anderson's Ice Cream Shop, Watershed Cafe in Osceola, Marketplace Grocery store, Brinks Grocery store, 3 Arrows Coffee --even though we're a rural area, there is no shortage of things to do here!--

Spend some cozy downtime enjoying a fire and the peacefulness of a 4 acre lake property. You and your guest (or small-very small) group will be the only ones around as we don't rent to more than one booking at a time. Paddle on the paddleboard for free or rent the kayak for only $10 a day and explore the lake while getting some exercise. Take a hot shower and sleep in a comfortable bed- all for less than a hotel room in the concrete jungle! **We do require a photo of a valid government ID from all members of your party. This is due within 24 hours of booking, or immediately after booking if it's a same day booking. Although we would love to share our property with you, note this is for liability purposes and is non-negotiable. When booking, please acknowledge that you have read this requirement and plan on complying with it. If not received within the specified time frame, your booking will be cancelled. Learn more about this land: Cozy lakeside cottage that sleeps two, with level lawn space nearby that will fit two additional tents in your group. Dedicated private space is in lower level backyard with best view and access to dock*, lake and wildlife wetlands with boardwalk. You'll see the setting sun from the end of the dock and have a paver patio firepit with plenty of seating all to yourselves. Private 3/4 bath and comfortable TV room is 60 steps away in the house, and we are also offering a shared laundry for an additional charge. Mystic Lake Casino, Canterbury Downs, and many other area lakes besides the 600 acre all sports lake that the property is located on are in the immediate area. For location purposes, we are located 3.5 miles S of the Prior Lake, MN McDonald's. The basic price of $80 per night includes up to two campers inside or outside of the cottage, but up to two additional campers and tents are able to added to the reservation for $20 per person/ per night. A limit of two persons inside of the cottage and four persons total are allowed per reservation. Please note that all persons on the reservation must submit a copy of their valid picture government ID to the host (via text) prior to arrival (but after booking), and sign a property liability waiver and upon check in. The host will discuss the procedure with you as HC supports pictures via real phone numbers accessed only after booking. Please ask prior to booking if you have any questions about this- this is a requirement of our short term rental insurance, and part of our self check in procedure. We are a 100% smoke and pet (all animals) free property. We also do not allow any events, parties or children. The minimum age of campers allowed to book here is 23 and if you are bringing your children with you, they must be 18 plus and also must sign all waivers and provide their ID's. This is a great place for a small, quiet gathering of your group with a private, clean bathroom and a lakefront location on a small acreage. However, it is for quiet getaways only, and is an owner occupied and monitored property. If you have any questions regarding this listing, feel free to message the host before booking. * The dock is removed towards the end of September every year. The lake can still be accessed until the end of October, there will just be no dock.
