Good to note: Our pond is a beautiful kayaking pond with lots of waterfowl, but not great for fishing, swimming or paddle boarding. We recommend Perch Lake which is a 15 min drive, for a great swimming and paddleboarding experience.

This property:
Cozy lakeside cottage that sleeps two, with level lawn space nearby that will fit two additional tents in your group. Dedicated private space is in lower level backyard with access to dock* (*May -September), lake and wildlife wetlands with boardwalk. You'll see the setting sun from the end of the dock and have access to a paver patio firepit. Private 3/4 bath and comfortable TV room is 60 steps away in the house. Mostly private spaces with some shared spaces such as driveway, hallways, sometimes we cross paths in the yard. Mystic Lake Casino, Canterbury Downs, renaissance fest, Valleyfair, & many other area lakes besides the 600 acre all sports lake that the property is located on are in the immediate area. For location purposes, we are located 3.7 miles of the Prior Lake, MN McDonald's.
The basic price of $80 per night includes up to two campers inside or outside of the cottage, but up to two additional campers and tents can be added to the reservation for $20 per person/ per night. A limit of two persons inside of the cottage and four persons total are allowed per reservation. All persons must be declared ahead of reserving the space and ID’d for insurance purposes. Please note that all persons on the reservation must submit a copy of their valid picture government ID to the host (via platform) prior to arrival (but after booking), and sign a property liability waiver upon check in. The host will discuss the procedure with you as HC supports pictures only after booking. Please ask prior to booking if you have any questions about this- this is a requirement of our short term rental insurance, and part of our self check in procedure.

How we ended up in Knife Lake Township on 81 acres of forested land.
We began looking for land in late fall of 1996.
After several months of searching, we happened upon a tiny newspaper ad for 81 acres of land described as "Beautiful, secluded, mature hardwoods, tall pines w/creek & beaver pond, many gd bldg sites & great hunting". We toured the property, covered in almost two feet of snow, on a snowmobile in January 1997 and fell in love with it.
We have been stewards of this piece of land for 25 years and are still enamored of its beauty and diversity. We are lulled to sleep by the sounds of owls and bullfrogs and the distant yipping of coyotes. Spring through fall we are often awakened by the rattling, honking of sandhill cranes and a wide variety of bird songs. Besides deer and lots of small critters, we've seen bear, bobcat, rafters of turkeys, quail, grouse, pheasant, owls, hawks and eagles. The sky, on a clear night, is breathtaking.
We have always visualized sharing the land with others, so come and immerse yourself in this bountiful space.

5 nights at Cozy Lakeside Cottage Guestroom
This was exactly what I was looking for. The property (and expected experience) is accurately described.
The property, including the cottage/camping area is bordered by trees and brush on two sides and the lake (with a dense growth of cattails) on the third.
Even though cottage/camping area is technically a spacious "backyard" I did feel like I was camping. The "cottage" is pretty much the size of an Expedition tent.
I stayed for five nights. I precooked my meals and home intending to heat them over the fire but ended using the microwave instead.
For this time year (late October) this is good option. If the weather gets nasty (too cold or even snow) the "cottage" is a wonderful backup.

This was a terrific spot to camp, it was secluded on peninsula with tons of wildlife. We stayed for just one night and saw deer, pilliated woodpeckers, trumpeter swans, sandhill cranes, gulls, muscat, multiple species of water fowl, and even 3 river otter that swam right up to us! They thought of everything you could ask for facilities wise. Would come back if we are in the area again. Was a good place for us to take our 6mo old in his first camping trip without worring about disturbing anyone with his cries at night.

The site is lovely, secluded and has everything you need. The wagon was really helpful for hauling gear in and it was a nice, easy walk through the woods. I had mentioned to Christine that we were camping as part of my daughter's birthday party, and she very sweetly hung balloons at the site! Everything was as described, and communication was great. Christine even offered to loan us gear when some of ours got wet in an unexpected rain storm. We loved picking bouquets and enjoying live music Friday evening at the farm, and watching the flock of swans on the lake in the morning.

So private! We are the only people there! We loved the view. Christine was available if we needed her but we did not and we never saw her. There was not actually any portapotty /satelite anywhere but the campsite bathroom facility was innovative. It would be helpful if we could park iIMMEDIATELY next to the walk in trail RATHER THAN 200-300 yards away. We have never been able camp on a weekend because we can’t make reservations in March or April, so being able to get a weekend night was FANTASTIC. the nearby towns of Hudson and Stillwater are charming

Would recommend staying at Bob and Roxanne’s! A beautiful area for camping. We had a perfect night under the stars and full moon enjoying a bonfire and sounds of nature around us (sandhill cranes, loons, owls, redstarts, and even some wolves howling during the night). The site was private and quite spacious. The flies and mosquitos were out in force during the day but they provided a mesh shelter that was nice to hang out in. The outhouse (very nice and clean) is a bit of a walk at night, but they provided potable water at our site so we were able to brush our teeth without walking to the outhouse. The yurt was sturdy and spacious and cooled down well for sleep. The town of Mora was only 12-15 mins from the property making it easy to access restaurants or grocery stores. Bob and Rox are very friendly and were very responsive to questions I had prior to arrival. We would definitely recommend this spot!

The Campsite:
The walk to the campsite is shorter than I expected and it was easier than I thought, even though we had so many stuff with us. If you like privacy and sounds of animals while camping, this is the place for you. We ended up leaving the campsite a little earlier because our little one was too tired from playing and staying up at night.

Christine was great communicating with us before our camping trip. Christine even led us know about the storms the day before our trip, and even offered us refund.

Weekend Trip to Spirits of the Forest
Peaceful, quiet, and the stars were great. Make sure to bring sheets, blankets, and pillows, and camping chairs to sit by the fire. Great stay for the price and would definitely stay again!

This property is absolutely beautiful. Upon parking your vehicles, you're met with a beautiful lake as well as a serene short walk to the campsite. The site also has a view of this lake too. It was spacious, private, and Chrstine was incredibly accommodating. In my personal opinion, the perfect blend of kind and considerate while still giving you space to enjoy your camp. I think it's also important to add that New Richmond is a very short drive away if you need anything else. If you are planning your next trip or thinking about trying your first Hicamp experience this is a great way to do it!

The owners were super friendly and nice and kept everything clean.
If you are looking for a Yurt adventure and relaxing; this is your place.
The Yurt was kept up and in good shape; and the site was perfectly big for hanging out and extra space and there was groomed paths to walk on as well. It was very secluded and private. It was a great weekend to disconnect from technology and reconnect with my partner. Very Relaxing.
Def bring your citronella candles and bug spray. There was some bugs but it was not to bad.
We are looking to stay in the TP next time we come up here.
This place we would highly recommend.
