Plenty of dead wood around, or you can purchase firewood bundles onsite. *Potable water is available to fill water tanks & containers. It is softened from the house. *Sewer dump station is 5 miles away at Brighton Rec Area (there is a fee). *Pets are allowed (cats & dogs only). Usually you can see some deer and maybe some turkeys. There are many old pines around the property, the last remnants of our Christmas tree farm. We can also provide some fire wood for campfires for a small cost. Along the river fires are allowed but must be contained in a fire ring. If camping by the field fires will be dependent on conditions. We have 3 kayaks and a canoe that can be used with prior consent. There is a park up river where you can put in and then can exit at our house which is about an hour on the river. We are very new to this and just purchased a UTV so we will be able to start making trails and clearing areas. But for now, camping along the river you will have to walk (and carry belongings) through tall grass to the site you desire. Quiet time 11 pm. Our property is 15 acres in beautiful south central Michigan, north of Jackson, and south of Lansing. It features an approximate 2 acre spring fed pond that does not have scum. It eventually flows into a creek that meanders through onsite wetlands into State of Michigan land. It is virgin land and exhibits many forms of wildlife: deer, turkey, rabbits, pheasants, fish, birds, and other. One day this will be our future dream home, but in the meantime we enjoy using it for getaways and peaceful surroundings. Each day we feel blessed to live in an idyllic, peaceful spot and we would like to share the serenity we've found here. We are less than a mile off Old 27, close to 127 and 5 miles to I-69 DeWitt Exit. Drop by and stay for a night on your way to your final destination or relax and stay for a few days, Our first site is open for tent or RV. Our new heated barn has a flush-toilet, sink, shower, washer and dryer. Less than a mile down the road is our local tavern with good, affordable food and welcoming vibe. Our home sits in the middle of a large clover lawn surrounded by woods, a pond and low-land meadow with high grass and wildflowers. Walking trails are cut through the woods and meadow providing ability to see deer, rabbits, dragonflies, butterflies, birds, cranes, blue and green heron and native flowers. We sometimes see raccoons, eagle, hawk, wood peckers, coyote and fox. During the day you'll see our ducks and chickens free-ranging and our sheep may join them or be in their pasture. We have an active homestead farm and we are focused on building a thriving environment for pollinators. Autumn brings the honey harvest and in the spring maple syrup... you're always welcome around the fire.

Julie was a fantastic host! She checked in after our first night to see if we had everything we needed. We spent a weekend here as part of a greater road trip cross-country and we had a swell time. The views of the lake are gorgeous and the loft sleeping accommodations were super cozy! After we left we realized that we left some near and dear prized possessions (a special hat and one single ear bud) and Julie was kind enough to reach out and then mail these items to us! We are super thankful and do kindly recommend staying

We loved our time in the Tiny Love Shack! It's definitely tiny, just enough room for the two of us and our big dog. It felt surprisingly private for being so close to neighbors. It was a bit musty in November, but that's to be expecting of glamping!

Beautiful place & peaceful. I’d you want a nature break, this is the spit for you.. Camp host was on site briefly, his dog Luke kept me company for most of my stay. Already planning a visit next summer when I come to the area. Few things to note: *Bring a flashlight, it’s dark when walking to the restroom. *There are bugs & Spiders everywhere, it’s nature. *Futon in cabin-s isn’t comfortable, I slept in my zero gravity chair.. *Breathe, and have fun..

The layout of the campsites is very privately cozy and well maintained. Nicely flat ground areas for tents, and many opportunities for hammock spaces in the area. The evening solar lights keep the sites well-lit and very inviting. The campfire kettle rings and swivel grill are very functional for camp cooking. The hobby farm animals are very entertaining to watch, and it was very fun to help Pamela feed them during their feeding schedules. The composting toilet is very clean and well kept. Cellular service is very limited, but accessible north near the farm and south near the property line. Many supplies were available in addition to the site bookings and were greatly appreciated. I will definitely be returning :)

An amazing place to stay if you are looking for a private rustic getaway! My boyfriend and I picked this site to take our 9mo old puppy camping for the first time and it was an incredible experience. We did a lot of hiking, cooking, and relaxing. We saw deer, possums, and turkeys! Just remember to do tick checks!

We noticed that Cabin M is equipped with an EV charger if that is important to you. We were end of season camping but found everything to be as expected and we plan a return visit in the spring.

Woods campsite #4 is absolutely amazing. It's close to a house, but plenty secluded, quiet and up on a small hill. Super close to the bathhouse which is rustic, but clean. Better yet within 20 minutes of being set up we were peacefully greated by Luke the pup who proceeded to be our campground guide, fire sentient, the bestest trail walk supervisor and even slept on our mat outside the tent at night.

I'm an experienced camper, due to motorcycling and whitewater kayaking. Have camped in Alaska, Colorado, bottom of Grand Canyon for 6 weeks. . This was my first time using Hipcamp, so I was unsure what to expect. Local state recreation areas were closed, so I gave this a try. . The camping area was exactly as described in words and photos. We had a walk-in tent site, so we parked at a marked parking spot. Then carried our gear another 500' across a tiny stream and up a hill. . It was a 2-night stay with my 4yo daughter on a father-daughter leaf-peeping motorcycle trip out of Detroit. She has also camped many times / places before, and I wanted her to have an adventure close to home. . Tom & Julie's place was perfect for us. It was about 3 miles east of Pinckney, so we had restaurants. The area is rural, and beautiful in the fall. The road to Tom & Julie's was smooth dirt for 2 miles. Then is was maybe 1/8 mile from their mailbox to the campsite. . The campsite was in a small clearing in the woods. Rarely did modern man-made noise intrude on the natural sounds. There was a fire-ring in the clearing, a couple cut logs to sit on. Firewood was available for a small fee. But there was plenty of dead wood around, for kindling or a small fire. So we enjoyed a small fire and did not purchase additional wood. . It was just our luck there was a pumpkin farm nearby. My daughter loved the hay rides, corn maze, etc. . The experience very positive, and I'd use Hipcamp again.

I loved staying here! There was a slight miscommunication about my site which was quickly resolved. There are lovely trails, a wonderful wildflower field, and a few open areas to take in the view and sun. The firewood portion supplied for $5 was a great deal and lasted me all 48hours i was present. The cabin was minimally but adequately furnished, the outside space includes plenty of seating and table options too. My dog also had a blast with the wide areas and trails to explore. I do photography and got some lovely shots of different plants, flowers, fungi, myself, my dog, etc. The weather was phenomenal during my visit so it was all around a lovely, magical retreat from the corporate life 🖤

I really enjoyed my stay at Julie’s B52 “Love Shack.” My dog and I felt right at home. Julie provided everything we could need. The upstairs was so relaxing and peaceful. The outside grill and zero gravity chairs were perfect for enjoying a delicious meal and providing front-row seats to view the stars and moon. The outside shower was an experience and a first for me. I mistakenly thought I had put enough water in there, but ran out with my hair covered in shampoo. Luckily, I was able to rebound pretty quickly and enjoyed an ice-cold shower on an extraordinarily hot day for October. Overall, this place and space offered me exactly what I was looking for, and I look forward to revisiting it soon.

It’s such a lovely place to stay for the weekend! I really enjoyed feeding and brushing the goats. I also got some eggs and honey there—loved them! I didn’t meet Pamela since she was away, but Mason was very nice and welcoming.
