Weekend Trip to The Vine Wilderness Glamping
We booked this site last minute and were so thankful it was instantly approved. The hosts were kind and quick to help when Google Maps sent us a bit off track. Once we arrived, the space felt like a hidden little retreat tucked into the woods.
It’s easy to imagine a young family making memories here… kids playing badminton, chasing fireflies, roasting marshmallows, and drifting off to the sound of crickets and frogs.
The setup includes a portapotty with a foot-flush and small sink, an outdoor shower, a futon, a queen air bed, and two cots. There’s a picnic table with umbrella, a coffee press and kettle, simple dishes and cups, a small grill, games, coloring books, and polyester linens. Everything was tidy and looked newly stocked for the season.
The drive in is a narrow, bumpy two-track… best for a smaller 4x4. Once you’re settled, it’s peaceful and quiet, with a wide open sky full of stars.
The hosts clearly care about creating a welcoming, family-friendly place to unwind. The mattress wasn’t the comfiest and the tiki torches were empty, but those are small details in an otherwise thoughtful stay.
We enjoyed our night here and can see it being perfect for a family weekend… laughter by the fire, s’mores in hand, surrounded by the sounds of nature. ♥️🌲🖖🏻

This was an incredible glamping experience! We came up to Sleeping Bear dunes for our anniversary trip and stayed here for a night. The bell tent is absolutely adorable and had everything we needed, secluded in the forest. Highly recommend this magical spot!

5 stars! What’s a great spot. It was easy too find and close to so many fun spots . The tent was in perfect condition, the beds/bedding and pillows were very comfortable. Everything we needed to grill up some steaks was already there! The tiki torches and citronella candles that the host provided did the trick, bugs were really not bad by the tent area. Carts were provided for the way out to the tent which takes just a couple minutes and is a pretty walk! The host helped us out with some extra wood and some washing water. The bathroom and shower was clean and the portable charging station and fan in the tent was a great touch! The host was also very responsive . 10/10 spot and will stay again until the future!

This was a wonderful glamping experience in the yurt. The hosts were very accommodating with carts at the entrance for the short walk to the yurt. The disc golf basket was a great activity. Very nice space and set up at the site. Would highly recommend!

Weekend Trip to The Vine Wilderness Glamping
Wow! What an amazing find. Georgia and Steve have thought of everything. We had the best two nights glamping on their land. The tent was huge, clean, and stocked with all the amenities we needed for cooking and enjoying our time. The beds were comfy, the shower was hot, and the outdoor area was perfect for relaxing and cooking over the fire.
It was the small touches that really amplified our experience—from the couch and game selection to provided towels, fire-cooking utensils, spices, fairy lights, tiki torches, and even thoughtful details like a mirror.
Most of our party is around 6’, and we could all stand comfortably in the tent and shower, and fit comfortably in the beds.
The location was perfect for our weekend trip to hike Sleeping Bear Dunes and explore the nearby lakeside towns.
We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

Super fun night under the stars! Convenient to Sleeping Bear and Glen Lake. Great way to have family do something outdoorsy without having to do all the leg work. Found it pretty easy. The beds were comfy, the shower gets hot water, and the porta potty flushes! Would stay again!

This spot is such a gem! Gregoria and Steve have gone above and beyond to provide the ultimate glamping experience! Hot shower was so nice and the porta john has a little sink and towel and a pump flush for the toilet. There is a grill and a fire pit with cooking grate. It had just rained so they provided us with two little fire starters and they have campfire wood bundles available right at the site that you can pay cash for. The tent itself was wonderfully appointed, bedding and towels are provided. They also provided little rechargeable lights and a charger- even some games! There were three hammocks set up and little weenie roaster sticks too. We had such a fabulous stay. Anybody trying to visit an Interlochen camper (or teacher in our case) should absolutely try this spot as a low cost alternative to a hotel or Airbnb. Also super close to the beach and cute coastal towns. Would definitely come back. Thank you!

Loved staying at Gregoria and Steve’s bell tent! It was so nice to have a secluded spot with everything so nicely set up. We had 4 adults staying and had plenty of room-the tent was very spacious, the bedding comfortable. Everything we needed was provided (grill, bedding, towels, hot shower, flushing port-a-john with hand washing station, picnic table and camp chairs). Carts were provided at the parking area for the short hike to the tent. We were able to enjoy a fire. And, it was only 15 minutes to Beulah Beach area and about 25 minutes to Sleeping Bear Dunes hikes. Great place to stay!

This glamping site was very spacious (on the inside and out) and well-furnished. We were especially pleasantly surprised by a few unexpected amenities that our kids loved, like some games and glow sticks, etc. There was a grill, coffee press and teapot, some roasting sticks, towels, dish soap, some charged up lanterns, etc etc. The twin cots were surprisingly comfortable and my husband and I slept well on the double mattress also. One thing to note is that there is a short hike from the car to the campsite, but the hosts provided a couple of carts to make it easier to haul things back and forth, which was great. Finding the site was also a little tricky so I would definitely recommend checking in in the daytime and following the provided instructions! Oh - and check out St. Ambrose Cellars which is just a couple mins away, has a beautiful outdoor space, live music, great pizza, and delicious beer, mead, and wine!

This was a great spot to disconnect from electronics and experience nature! We had limited signal at the site itself but it did not impact our stay. Gregoria and Steve were very responsive and helpful. They provided us with everything we needed to have an enjoyable stay! Some of the highlights for us was the hot shower, light up frisbee, and disc golf basket. There was also plenty of room inside the tent and things to keep the family busy. Looking forward to booking with them again in the future for another family getaway!

3 nights at Sportsman's Port Wellston PineRiver
Tom was an excellent host! The cabin was ready for us when we arrived. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom and shower house were very clean and well lit. We took a float down the Pine River and it was incredible. The shuttle came right to our site to pick us up and bring us back. Highly recommend doing this. The location is just over 20 minutes away from the gorgeous manistee beaches on Lake Michigan. That was great for us as avid rock hunters. We will be back and have already told friends about the spot. It’s a great little hidden gem!

This was a dream place for those who want to be one with nature and still have comfort. The accommodations were spacious and the amenities were plentiful. Definitely off the beaten path (Don't bring a sporty car) but the site was worth every penny. I came there with my three adult sons, and had plenty of room with the yurt, my youngest is 6'5" and never had to duck anywhere in it. The cots/futon/bed were comfortable, lighting around the campsite enhanced the atmosphere. Honestly, whether it's a boys weekend, family trip, or romantic getaway this has the capability to satisfy your needs. Don't let this one pass you by.
