The glamping tent is located in an existing campground at the Pine River Paddlesports Center. The campground itself is on 26 acres - the sites are all hedged around on 3 sites with woods and are generously spaced out from one another. It is a clean and quiet campground - you shouldn't be able to hear your neighbors, and they shouldn't be able to hear you.
The tent does have electricity - there is one power strip that is enough to power a fan (provided in the tent!), and to charge phones. There is a queen-sized bed, but please bring your own bedding.
Inside the tent is also a 'coffee nook' - complete with a one-burner propane stove, tea kettle, pour-over coffee system, and water pitcher. Potable water is available at the tent site (there is a water spigot outside).
Outside of the tent there is a fire pit with an adjustable grate for cooking, a picnic table, and a locking trash can that we change daily for you.
Our bathroom building is a short walk from the glamping tent. It is a modern restroom with a men's and a women's side, complete with hot, running water, flush toilets, and coin-operated showers.
We are located in the Manistee National Forest. Our campground borders the National Forest. On site, there is a beautiful 1/4 mile deer trail walk through the National Forest that leads to a great overlook of the Pine River. Also on site is a frisbee golf course that is free to campers.
Also located on site is the Paddlesports Center where we rent canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and rafts for paddling the Pine River.

We provide sheets and towels for your convenience. The cabin boasts a fully equipped kitchen and a clothes washer (no dryer), with a clothesline available for drying. Enjoy outdoor cooking using the grill on the deck, or over the fire pit. There is also a propane fire pit on the deck and a second wood fire pit by the river.
Our cabin is our cherished retreat, which we occasionally open up to guests. As it is not operated as a for-profit rental, we kindly ask that you treat our slice of heaven with the same care and respect as we do.

Everything you need for a beautiful secluded off grid experience. Excellent snow shoeing all over the property. He was very accommodating. Showed me around, helped get me acclimated & kept me stocked up with wood on the cold February nights. Will definitely be back.

We loved camping at Rick’s! The cabin was well stocked with spices, flashlights, cozy and nice bedding. Rick resupied firewood for us and pointed out the trails to explore. The view from the cabin porch was beautiful with lots of colorful trees. The firepit was huge and we used the grates to cook over the fire. We’re coming back next summer!

Rick's place was such a gift. There were so many signs of thoughtfulness and insight into his prepared mind. Not only was the cabin equipped w/ basics but he also offers extras such as raincoats, hammocks, and what not. The property is well cared for, he has beautifully growing plants on the front porch The outhouse was actually nice, well stocked, and it was clean! The cabin too, was very clean, cleanest tiny cabin in woods I've seen yet! I like how he designed and decorated the cabin, it felt much bigger than it was. The framed bear art was so enjoyable to look at, each time I'd find something I hadn't before. It was like a mix between a Hieronymus Bosch piece and a teddy bears picnic! I highly recommend, he's a really nice easy going guy, pleasant to communicate with.

The view and bubbling of the brook in the backyard was charming to say the least. In mid-Oct. the wood stove kept us comfortably warm. The furnished kitchen, updated fridge, running cold water sink, and stovetop made meal time smooth. We appreciated the convenience of having home cooked meals made easily. For fairly avid hikers, we LOVED the trails around the property. We hiked for about 2 hours in our short trip and the dirt morning star path was great. Easy elevation changes, superb views of the colorful fall leaves, few and far between encounters with other hikers, and serene nature as far as the eye can see. Accessing the cabin with our SUV was easy despite a 2 track back. Cell service was decent. WiFi was a little slow and low signal but worked. Lots of blankets, lamps, and warmth to make a cozy retreat. Since we were hoping to have a relaxing weekend with minimal screen time, this was just what we needed. The full bed upstairs was comfortable, not too squeaky, and is nicely placed by windows to oversee the brook. We have a young dog that was able to manage the ladder/small steps up to the loft; however, I’d be very cautious if I had a senior dog. We brought a runner lead for our dog in the back yard which was a great way to keep him leashed with a little freedom to roam. Will happily go back (either to this cabin or try another on the acres). Host was thoughtful, eager to help, and communicative. Friendly and welcoming overall.

Rick's cabin is so beautiful! He really has built a little slice of heaven in the woods. We had so much fun talking to him and meeting his sweet dog! We loved relaxing on the covered deck watching the fire below dance in the stoic stone firepit. Our son rode his bike and explored all around the trails on Rick's land, we hiked them too. Lots of nature to observe and the smells of the woods were delightful. This cabin was just what we were looking for in a quick family getaway! Rick has a large table for the kitchen counter setup with propane stoves, utensils, and a large glass water jug with an electric pump! The beds on the bunk were really comfortable, and the wood stove was so nice in the early mornings to warm the cabin up. The small dining table was perfect for taking it easy, drinking coffee and gazing out the window at the diverse trees. Rick also has a battery powered fan, and shop vac which were such nice things to have! He provided the firewood for both the outdoor pit and the small wood stove inside. The cabin is also a few miles from Yoder's of Tustin for some groceries, supplies, lots of baked treats and deli items including sandwiches. We drove to see the Pine River and the scenery around the area.

Me and my boyfriend had an amazing time at Gabriel’s cabin! It was super cute, loft bed upstairs, a cute kitchenette that was perfect for making breakfast, lunch and dinner! We had such a blast hiking the trials with our two dogs! There is a fire pit that is perfect! The outhouse was the nicest I’ve ever seen! I actually enjoyed the bathtubs/shower outside it was a cool experience and the cold shower was super refreshing! It was a great spot to disconnect from the world and reconnect and just relax! Definitely recommend!

With pets
We had a girls weekend, and it was hands down the perfect fit. We aren't the city type of women even though we live and work in cities...
Rick and Jack were absolutely amazing hosts. The cabin had literally everything that we needed. We just had to show up with food and clothes. Keep in mind there is no refrigerator. Lol it's off grid.
The beds were super comfortable. We just kept the clean bedding on and placed our stuff over top. We moved things around to for our stay( yes we cleaned up and put it all back, as you should lol). Even the outhouse was very clean and stocked.
The amount of trails and things you could find to do on the land were pretty awesome. we wound up getting lost...so make sure you figure out your bearings before you leave.google maps and common sense helped Lol. He has plenty of lights/ flashlights to use... To stove kept us warm (filling a water pan and keeping it on top helped a lot with the humidity/allergies) Really.. The only thing that we would recommend is maybe putting some lights leading to the outhouse.
He kept us well stocked on firewood, we even got to watch him drop a tree for us. Lol the night is BLACK. But the sounds are amazing! We can't wait to be able to go back. Hubby and I will be returning for a romantic getaway too! Btw JACK is the softest and sweetest dog ever! Can't wait to see him again!

6 nights at Little River Tiny Cabin - Manistee
I loved staying Steph and Mark’s Tiny Cabin! It was clean, well appointed (as far as was expected for a place with no electricity) and above all, private. I was able to disconnect and relax, enjoy the sound of the babbling little river, and catch up on reading and sleep with zero distractions. Thanks for hosting me!
