We are right down the road from Little Long lake and Budd Lake public boat launches. We have deeded lake access to Little Long Lake with use of our paddle boat and kayaks. We can provide parking with a boat, trailer, etc., but will need to be arranged prior to check-in. There are several restaurants, delivery options, and a grocery store right down the road. There is also a putt putt golf, skiing and snow tubing at Snow Snake, arcade, batting cages, bowling, indoor golf, ax throwing, beaches and Wilson State Park. If you have side-by-sides, quads, jeeps, snowmobiles, or dirt bikes, there are endless options with groomed trails in the area for you to ride all day long. We have two cabins, the Harrison Hideaway cabin and Wanderer's Hideaway that can be rented together for larger groups or rented separately. Please message me if you would like to rent both cabins for you and your guests. We are new to this process and want to make you and your guest feel accommodated with a 5 Star stay.

Hosting May 22 - mid/Oct My husband Dan and I purchased this property 5 years ago and have totally restored the land, home and barn from its prior condition. Consequently, if you view the various on line satellite images be advised they are out of date and do not reflect the love we have put into our sanctuary. We are retired and live here with our two standard poodles Mila and Indiana. The property is 5 acres, mostly meadow with a maple grove as well as a wooded ravine. We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk. Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor. Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries. There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes. A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive. We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay. We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat.

A rustic, permalog style cabin that is suited to accommodate up to nine. This is a cabin to help disconnect from the hustle and bustle of our chaotic lives. There is limited cell signal, no internet and no local or cable channels. The cabin is pet friendly, as I believe our pets are an extension of our families and should get to vacation with everyone rather than boarded (dogs only are allowed). Primary source of heat is a propane wall furnace. There is an electric fireplace in the living room. In the summer there is a window AC unit at the cabin and a fan for the loft (it does get hot up there). The cabin is very close (1/4 mile) to the AuSable River where you can easily launch boats, canoes and more. The ORV trail head is just a 1/4 mile down the road. This is also the perfect cabin for hunting, fishing, hiking and trail riding. Be sure to keep an eye out for an eagle or two. Also had deer tracks in the yard.

Weekend Trip to HillCrest

Hillcrest (Lake View) has a beautiful view. Chose this for a fall getaway. Great location central to Traverse City (asylum tour) and Boyne Mountain (Skybridge). Hosts are friendly and Avion RV was a cool experience, clean and well-stocked with everything you need. Hope to visit again in the summer to experience Torch Lake, which is very close to this.

6 nights at HillCrest

Bill & Dan’s place is lovely. While you are obviously staying in a RV, as soon as you walk out the door or look out the window there are beautiful expansive grounds that they have created. Flowers abound, lots of green grass and trees and places to sit in the yard and on the deck. A beautiful hot tub is made available to guests and it was a lovely way to unwind from the day of touring all that the area has to often.. Bill & Dan are great hosts and very accommodating to anything you might need. They pay so much attention to detail that it is quite impressive! If you are on the tall side, it may be challenging to be in a bed that is shorter than normal size, as the RV designed beds are. We both enjoyed our stay there and really appreciated how much there is to do in the area. It is centrally located between Traverse City and some of the things to do a little bit east and north, so it’s a great location. It’s very quiet and peaceful on their property, and it is nice to be away from some of the hustle and bustle of Traverse City. If you happen to have an EV, there’s an EV charging station 10 minutes away that works really well. Definitely recommend Bill & Dan‘s place!

Our stay at Maple Grove was peaceful and relaxing. Dan and Bill have ensured that everything you would need for a great vacation are available. It was quiet in the evening and very restful. The hot tub was fantastic! Their landscaping is beautiful and park-like! The Privacy was welcome. Each camper had its own sitting area so you could have your gas firepit burning and enjoy time under the stars. It was a convenient location for getting around to all the things we wanted to see in Northwest Michigan. We would highly recommend this location!!!

Dan and Bill are outstanding hosts and very thoughtful, even giving us robes to use after using the hot tub. The property is beautiful and in a perfect central area to visit all the local areas. We would definitely stay again and recommend anyone staying in the area to do so. We are thinking of bringing friends and renting all 3 of the campers together!

I loved my place! It was so clean and everything was so easy to find at the RV. The one I rented made me feel like I was in a home. They had everything needed, the bed was so comfortable. I’m sad I didn’t get to enjoy the swing because I was busy exploring the town. The flowers were beautiful around the RV and so nice and quiet around the area. Dan and Bill were very nice host’s and asked me how I was doing since I traveled alone. Absolutely recommend!

We had an absolute blast, the camp was super cute. Chad and Amiee were super easy to communicate with and gave good driving instructions as you will lose all cell service, (which was great). We would highly recommend their place!
