1 night at Sheepy Acres

I had a wonderful time at Sheepy Acres staying in a Shepherd's Hut. Everywhere Titus has infused his place with whimsy, love of nature, and thoughtfulness for those who visit. There is a walking trail, pond for swimming, a fountain, water slide, rock climbing wall, pool toys and numerous tire swings. Each site reflects Titus's talent for creative building and design. You have cooking pits, firewood, picnic tables and benches. There are toilets, showers and solar lights to add some fun! Play "Eye Spy" to find marshmallow forks and many more surprises! The camping area is beautiful and pleasant - fun to explore with the hundreds of trees that Titus planted, a bounty of birds and finches, his sheep, some kittens and wildflowers and plants that sparkle with fire flies like a magic field in the evening. This is a wonderful place for family gatherings, good friends and those that want to enjoy nature in a unique and special way! Thank you, thank you!

Sandra was fantastic! Her space was absolutely beautiful and she set us up with everything we needed. As her first stay, she was still setting up the kitchen area, but the tent and bathhouse was stocked and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. A few thunderstorms occurred while we stayed and did not have any issues with water leaking or wetness inside the tent. Our dogs loved running around and having space to explore. It was so nice waking up and sitting in the deck watching the turkeys and horses. We will most definitely be back when visiting family.

This place was perfect for our little mini vacation just for our dogs. We have 3 pretty big German Shepherds that love water and the pond was great!!! Cabin was also beautiful!!! Very peaceful!!!

This is our second stay at the cabin. Love the new RV style shower and toilet on the property. Swimming hole just outside the cabin. Convenient parking right next to the cabin. Love the picnic table, fire pit with grate and included firewood. Lots of trees for hammocks. Great ventilation with windows, electricity allows for charging, lights. There is a mini fridge and fan. Bed is very comfortable. Love love this place. Sweet kitty and her mama came to visit. The host is just the absolute best. Super responsive to help with anything. Actually remembered us from last year and where we had camped before. Love the surrounding Amish towns. Such a great get away!

First of all, Titus is a great host. He showed us around so we knew where everything was. He was always available if we needed something and he also told us we could message him if we needed anything. We really liked the shepherds hut. It has a loft to sleep in. Under the loft, there's a bench that turns into twin bed. A small table, shelf , and stool. It's a great place to talk, play games, watch nature. The sheep are great. They watch over you all night . When my daughter and I walked by, they were standing in huddle watching us.

5 nights at Life Adventures

Peace, quiet, and simplicity among the black walnut trees. I stayed in the small cabin which had just what I needed. Cleverly designed, this 8 foot by 10 foot space had a mini fridge, microwave, shelf, table, and futon. The front covered porch is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun cresting over the trees at dawn or painting last light on field next door. Rain isn’t an obstacle here, it’s a reason to pull out a board game in the pavilion and share with your neighbors. Life Adventures is all about a good, clean, fun camping experience. In fact, this space is available to rent for events like family reunions and weddings. Stephen was kind and courteous. He checked in on everyone I saw. The neighbors I talked to said they stayed at the campground many times and they plan to come back. I have to say, I agree. Camp is close to small towns that are reminiscent of antique stores and ice cream shops next to lazy rivers. If you’re hoping to see more nature, the North Country Trail is very near this campground. The NCT offers some moderate hikes and you may pass through hikers heading up to the Huron-Manistee National Forest. Talk to Stephen, he is a wealth of knowledge about the area. Key Camp Cabin Points: 1. Bring sheets 2. Bring microwavable plates/bowls/storage 3. Bring reusable hand towels 4. Bring biodegradable cleaner (Dr. Bronner’s?) Leave it better than you found it. Pack it in? Pack it out. Nature is waiting for you, go find it!

This was a nice place to stay at, we had everything we needed from cooking utensils, propane stove, towels, bug spray, dishes, to potable water. Toilet is clean! Short walk to the lake, they had a canoe and some seats by the water. It was pretty private and quiet by the yurts. The lake had a bit more traffic, but still able to remain somewhat secluded. Easy spot for small family trips.

Weekend Trip to Off Map Glamping

We loved our visit. It is so peaceful and serene. The firefly's were amazing outside our tent. The land is beautiful, tents are secluded for the most part. The communal barn and bathrooms are top notch. There are battery pack in each tent so you can have fans (provided) going and you can charge your phone if you wish. Lanterns are also in the tents. This was a fantastic we will be back.

Weekend Trip to Sheepy Acres

Titus’s property was AWESOME. My son and I just spent a night there, but we feel we go the most of everything Fisherman’s Wharf had to offer! Swam and used the water slide into the pond, did a little fishing, saw the sheep and farm kitties (my son’s favorite) and cooked out on the campfire. Would definitely recommend and would love to make another trip there in the future!

Weekend Trip to Life Adventures

It was a super affordable place to get away for a night, so we didn't expect anything fancy. Staying here is basically staying at a small campground. The cabin is a small shed made up as a little cabin. The large awnings were useful, the whole thing sits on a concrete slab. Looked like a tree fell through one of the awnings and there were materials there, probably to fix it. A large fire pit was full of ash, a broken rock climbing wall was nearby. There's a large bathroom facility with a shower, and a few camping sites nearby. The cabin is not out by itself, but amongst all this. Neighbors were nice. Luke, the camp dog, was a sweetheart. Inside the cabin, there's a tiny refrigerator and a little microwave and a couple outlets. The queen bed was on the stiffer side but very comfortable. There is no AC or heat. Once we aired the heat out of the room, it was pleasant inside. Overall, we had a good time. It's close to town, you can see the stars at night, it's quiet, and it wasn't crowded. It's quite a bargain. Met the owner briefly as he was doing some work around the camp. Pleasant and polite. We walked some of the trails, which were nice. I recommend a stay.

Weekend Trip to Tucked - Away Cabin

A great place to relax and get away from the city. The cabin had everything there for cooking and extra blankets and pillows if needed. The woods were perfect for just sitting back by the fire and listening to the sounds of nature.

Have already recommended Sheepy Acres to my family!! Peaceful. Beautiful. Tyson is a wonderful host. The pond and shower are a wonderful asset. We will definitely be returning. Campsites are amazing with firewood provided. The site were all secluded from other sites. Our big pup was allowed off leash and had a great time. Kittens were adorable and really tolerated our big pup. The birds and owls at the crack of dawn was a really beautiful thing to hear. Highly recommended.

I had a great stay at sheepy acres. There were two other campers there, but it was quiet and private at my shepherds hut. Titus has thought of everything you might need while camping. He showed me around the property and informed me of where everything was as we talked like we were old friends. I loved camping with the sheep gazing. It was very plesent and relaxing.

2 nights at McCormick Artisans Woods/River

This was a great place to slip away from the noise and bustle of life for some time in the quiet solitude of the woods. It felt like camping without having to do all the setup. Plenty of wildlife all over. They would visit in camp and I would come across them on the various trails throughout the property. Mac is a neat guy and I really enjoyed chatting with him and seeing his various projects on the land. This place provides everything you’d want for rustic comfort. Would visit again!

For a total of 13 options. 2Chicks And A Farm is a small working farm on 20 acres, owned and run by Julie and Theresa Graham. We are 13 minutes from South Haven and the lake. 30 minutes from the city of Kalamazoo. And just under an hour from Grand Rapids. About half of the 20 acres is wooded, which is where three of our camp sites, Hammock Haven are located. Each site has a fire ring & picnic table. One site, capable of taking a mid sized RV / Fifth Wheel, is located on the front of the property with easy access from the road. It backs up to some trails and brush/wood area and has a corn field to the right. So, even though on the front on the property, you have a feeling of privacy. It too has a fire pit and picnic table. Three camp sites are located in the pasture. One is at the bottom of the pasture (1) and quite open. It can accommodate larger groups with multiple tents. A more secluded site (5) is half open and half in light woods., and is located at the top of the pasture. The others are in the middle of the pasture, 2 for sun lovers and 3 for those who prefer more shade. For those who prefer more seclusion, we have cleared three sites in the woods. All sites have a fire ring, or metal fire pit, and picnic table. Some have fire wood boxes (we’re working on making a box for all sites). We have an outdoor propane shower that provides both hot and cold water. This is free. A coffee bar is on the back deck. Coffee is brewing around 7am. We also provide hot water, teas, hot chocolate and cider. Feeling a little peckish before breakfast, or after dinner? Help yourself to a snack. This is all free, though small donations are welcomed. Our goats, poultry, pigs, rabbits, cats and dogs and produce take up about an acre and a half. Then the rest is open space. You are welcome to collect eggs for breakfast and fresh produce from our gardens (additional fee). Use the BBQ or smoker. And even join in on farm chores if you are so inclined. Please try to plan to check-in by 9pm. Exceptions can be made. There are locally mandated quiet hours (10-7 Sun through Thur, and 11-7 Fri and Sat). Hanging out by a fire and chatting is fine.

Cabins ARE SMOKE FREE and may not be used as kennels so please keep pets off furnature and don't leave them inside when you are gone. You must bring your own queen sheet set. Kalamazoo Haven

Half way between Chicago and Detroit is a city named Kalamazoo. Our place is near the intersection of US 131 and I-94, so whichever direction you are traveling is accessible. Whether you are heading to the beauty of "up north" or running between the big cities east and west, this is a great spot to rest and enjoy some down time. Lake Michigan is a 40 minute drive west from here and if you are a bicyclist, you can ride the Kal-Haven Trail from the trail head about 2 miles from here, all the way to the Big Lake and back (35.5 miles one way). We have trails in the woods and open fields to look over, depending on your preference. As of this year, there is no electricity and water hookup, so tents or trailers with electric and water are your option. We have a bell tent available for a single or a couple to stay. On that same site is room for a trailer or tents, if you want to invite your friends, and we've built a cooking shelter and a bath house that has a compost toilet and a shower with on demand hot water from solar energy. We have a horse farm on the property and offer horse experiences at an additional fee. It is expected that you will remain outside the fence from the horses while you are staying, unless you sign a release and are accompanied by the owner to interact with them. There are two campsites cleared in the woods, for tent camping, and more will be cleared in 2025, as time allows. There will be a bathhouse with a compost toilet and on-demand hot water nearby those campsites. If you want to stay before our build, we will offer a lower rate, but expect you to take away your own waste when you leave or clarify with us where is an appropriate place to leave it. At some point during the summer of 2025, we are placing a restored vintage 1957 Ideal camper in a separate area of the property. It will have solar power and an indoor compost toilet, with a stove and sink. It will host a single or a couple who can sleep on a full sized mattress. Another sleeping area may be offered from converting the table, but we are not sure how comfortable it will be until we've completed the renovation.

Tucked - Away Cabin

We have about 40 acres and trails through the area for exploring. You just may come across some "forts" constructed by some of our grandchildren. There is a large fire pit and plenty of firewood for a minimal cost. (Trash can full. ) If you listen in the evening, you are likely able to hear a couple of owls talking back and forth. Usually you can see some deer and maybe some turkeys. There are many old pines around the property, the last remnants of our Christmas tree farm. There is no electricity in the cabin, but we do have two solar lights and some battery lights. If it's been rainy, the solar won't work as well. We have cornhole game available upon request and some table games kept in cabin. If you want to go biking, there is a trail in town, about 5 miles away.

McCormick Artisans Woods/River

We bought this property in 2012 and have built several buildings and forged paths throughout the 32 acres. Our road is part of the North Country Trail, a footpath stretching over 4,600 miles from Middlebury in central Vermont to Lake Sakakawea State Park in central North Dakota. While tearing down the existing house, we constructed two bedrooms in the pole barn for a quick living space. Once settled in the pole barn, we a built a small log cabin with already felled timbers from the local woods, except for the box frame which was purchased from the local Amish. Prior to building our permanent log cabin home, this small cabin was our camp site and is now being rented to people that want to relax and enjoy the outdoors. In the middle of the woods, we created a campground to be enjoyed by hikers and on the North side of our property is a tree line between two fields that is a great small camper/tent camping spot.

Have A Lake Of Your Own!

The driveway down the middle of property that leads to the lake was originally a fence line that divided the two pieces of property. The brothers did not get along and their are several stories of their warring on how to maintain the property.My parents bought this piece of property in 1964 and created a camp called "Lakeside Farm Camp", a small all boys camp. The camp has gone through several changes since then but has always been owned by the Edwards family. In 1984 the name was changed to "Cedar Lodge" a coed camp that specializes in English horseback riding and offering high level general camp activities. This fun property is just under 7 acres - butted up to another 12 acres of public land (and boat launch) with trails, boardwalk and a dock on 51 acre Lake Eleven. The property is shared by (2) full-hook up RV sites and a cabin. If available, the cabin and sites may be rented together however the owners, Jim and Maria, use the cabin much of the summer leaving just the RV sites available. The property is at mile market 13 of the Kal-Haven Trail - the midpoint. The Kal-Haven Trail is a biking, cross-country skiing, walking, running, snowmobiling - you name it, the trail that goes 34 miles from Kalamazoo to South Haven. Literally steps from the property and you are on the trail. But you may not need to leave the property, with 6.3 acres of woods and field, with trail cut through PLUS the added public lands butted up to Tincan's property line, giving almost 20 acres to roam. Each RV site - far enough apart to be separate, close enough if you and friends/family want to camp together, has a fire pit and fireplace. Each RV site offers water, 30|50AMP electrical and septic. The dock may have availability for keeping you boat - please inquire. There are kayaks and some bikes (mostly teen and adult size) that may be used. These are shared amenities for the cabin and campsite guests and offered on a first come, first serve basis. There are surprises galore around the property; big foots to be found tucked around the property, games, and overall just a fun place to be. This was a run-down fishing cabin Jim and Maria lovingly brough back to life as a second home and they delight in sharing it. Jim often referred to it as "The Tincan" while working on it as it was - indeed, a tin shack and the name stuck. Kate, your booking coordinator, helps Jim and Maria tend to the administrative side of getting the property booked and keeping the details in order. Once booked you'll get contact info for Kate, who will take care of most communications and logistics, and Jim/Maria who will also be available to help as needed.
