As always we are excited and can't wait to share our place with you! We are a small farmette with goats, chickens, ducks, fruits, veggies, and Irish Wolfhounds. The 1.3 acre parcel across the street from the house and farm has a forested peninsula that the A-frame is located on. Our street ends in a small stream that continues to separate the farmstead from the A-frame site.
Come stay in our tiny rustic A frame cabin built of mostly reclaimed materials. Enjoy being across the stream and over the bridge from the main house on a private peninsula. Enjoy the privacy of a "single site" camp! Use the fire pit, grill, outdoor wood stove, single burner butane stove or umm the bathroom :) without having to leave your site! Please be aware we are in town and you may hear road noise, lawn mowers, dogs, ect. You may also see and hear wildlife ex; deer, beavers, ducks, muskrats, rabbits, geese, foxes, and coyotes. We encourage native plants and work to provide a sanctuary for many threatened bird species.
The cabin is 100sq. feet with sloping interior walls the flip up side wall is permanently open and screened in. There is no running water or electricity so unplug and unwind. A place to plug in and the water spigot a short stroll from your cabin in the driveway The cabin has a a full size mattress with sheets, blankets, throws and pillows. Lanterns, cooking utensils, camp mugs and camp coffee pot are provided. Please request the cast iron skillet and butane burner, it will not be in the cabin if you do not ask for it.
You are also welcome to set up your own tent. Please note cleared space is limited and the tent should be a 1-3 person smaller tent.
Outside on the deck are tiki torches, woodstove and bistro table. There is a hammock, picnic table, and 2 sets of outdoor chairs at your site. We do not have a swimming hole but the town beach is 5 minutes away and requires a day pass.
If you forget something you are a short walk to Cumbies, and several farms, bakeries and a large grocer are a very short drive away. Venture farther (10 minutes) to one of the nearby hiking trails.
We are within 15 minutes of the Blackstone Gorge, Southern New England Trunkline Trail, Cornier Woods, Franklin State Forest, Wojcik Farm, Cook's Valley Farm, the New England Bonsai Museum, Diamond Hill Vineyards, Caroline's Cannabis, Shire Conservation Area, New England Country Club, and many stables.

Salamander Hollow is a private, evolving honeybee and human being
sanctuary on 17 acres of land abutting Massachusetts State Forest. We
currently have a one-room, wood stove warmed, cozy sleeping loft for one or two - with two benches below on either side of room - for two sleeping bags; plus, a separate 22 foot Sioux tipi with two cots. There are two chairs in the tipi, which if removed at night, make floor room for four other sleeping bags.

If you're a larger group booking Salamander Hollow main camp with its Sleeping Library, Tipi & Slovenian Beehive House, you might consider renting this additional Tiny Cabin want to entertain all in glamping style, utilizing its amenities; as well, providing another bathroom/shower and guest bedroom for those who prefer being indoors while in the great outdoors.
Note that Kula Bata Tiny Cabin abuts the wheelchair accessible larger bathroom/shower which is available to those at the Salamander Hollow main camp, yet you are secluded with your own private entry points and private bathroom.
A ten minute drive takes you to the parking area to hike up Tully Mountain. There is a grill, wood fired pizza oven, two fire pits and a hygienic Incinolet electric toilet on the property for night convenience, with small camp sinks for washing & teeth brushing.
Take a short hike off the property to organic Chase Hill Farm for milk, eggs, seasonal veggies, grass fed meat and other goodies. Say hello to their cows, chickens, pigs, goats, pups and kids. Nestled across the road from Salamander Hollow is Timber Haven Farm, where you can schedule your pickup of bacon and eggs, while loading up on delicious Owl Energy Bars for your adventurous excursions. For those interested in the glamping side of camping, you will enjoy a remote rustic experience with a few creature comforts to keep you well read, clean and fed. Please bring your own bedding - pillows, sleeping bags, comforter, teddy bears.There is a wall mounted blue tooth car radio/CD player in Sleeping Library, so bring your pre-digital favorites. Classical CDs to listen to. Lots of eclectic books to peruse.Walkie talkies, a set of 4, are available upon request. Chess & poker sets, too.

Bring fire-starters/newspaper for tinder. We suggest if you are staying more than a night or two in winter, you bring supplemental wood or we can direct you to a nearby stand. Next season, our own cut and split wood will be seasoned and available on site. We ask that you carry out trash and recyclables.
An established Western facing four point sacred Medicine Wheel site being established on Askari Ridge - our name for the slope starting with the two fire pits - 'Askari' being Swahili for night guard.
Here is where we envision a great touch-point area for those leading groups to be for a base-camp by day or night, where eventually a multi-use tenting platform/performance stage will be constructed for outdoor entertainment, creating an authentic 'stadium style' seating on the hill.

1 night at SnugLife Camping
Beautiful spot to camp along the river during winter! We were there on New Year's Day 2026 for an overnight under the almost-full-moon, and our last-minute booking was gratefully accommodated.
We hauled our camping gear to the site a quarter of a mile downhill in backpacks and a sled we brought, plus another sled that was provided. We used the not-so-air-tight nor squirrel-free spacious Tent on the Platform with the wood stove that I fed throughout the night in the 9°F windy weather. I recommend bringing individual Sleeping Pads to insulate over the air mattresses and under your own high-pile sleeping bag. Our group had also brought a tent to experience real winter camping and it was nice to have the glamping set up just in case. The stove did smoke at first as they do that, but once it was going it was great. I set my alarm clock for every hour to check it.
The outdoor kitchen and fire pit was used to heat water for our meals, warm drinks, clean up, and to fill water bottles for warmth inside sleeping bags. During cold months and summer nights, bring enough fire starting materials to get things going multiple times in the cold and maybe wet conditions. The toilet situation was sufficient (carry-out) and the river's cascading riffles were heard throughout the night.
It was a magical place to be in nature during winter surrounded by snow and ice! I highly recommend a visit here any time of year in one of the tents provided or at a regular tent site, all along the river.

A great place to escape the city and reconnect with nature. The surroundings were peaceful, and seeing and hearing the horses and donkeys added a special touch to the stay. Overall, a nice option for a relaxing weekend getaway.

Weekend Trip to Glamping with the Wild Horses
We had an amazing time! When we got there we were greeted by Jody & she was AMAZING! She helped us get settled in and made sure we knew that if there was anything we needed we could call her. The beds were incredibly comfortable, it downpoured so hard for most of the night and the dome was great! It didn’t let a single drop of rain in. There’s a wood stove in the dome and it was enough to keep us toasty warm even though it was in the low 30’s, they also provide tons of warm comfy blankets. There was plenty of wood chopped right outside the domes so if you run out it’s very close. We were able to go and help feed the herd and had the opportunity to give plenty of scratches! In the morning we booked the hike with the horses with Tatianna & Chris which was amazing! We were actually in the areas with the gorgeous herd and were able to get hands on again! I honestly could go on all night talking about how amazing it was but in my opinion the very best part of everything was the fact that every single cent that I spent while we were there went right back into caring for and maintaining the herd. When I was looking for a place to go that’s what sealed the deal and made the decision to pick this place very easy!! I highly HIGHLY recommend checking it out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

Weekend Trip to Winimusett Farm
A friend and I stayed here over the weekend in mid-November. We enjoyed our trip, the cabin is cozy, and Misty was very communicative and helpful! The directions were thorough, and we had no problem using the cabin. Outside temperature was ~28-45°F, but the wood stove was very effective and the cabin became very toasty. One thing to note is that the solar-powered battery banks had little charge. The string lights only worked for 20 minutes on our first night, and their battery banks did not recharge the next day. The large solar-powered battery bank that powered the lamp in the corner had only about 6 hours of charge. We're guessing that the weak fall sun, combined with cloudy conditions, meant these battery banks didn't fully charge. This might be something to consider when packing for a fall/winter trip. We're glad we brought flashlights, a rechargeable lamp, and some pillar candles. We also brought our own kitchen supplies; not sure what to expect, but there were plenty of utensils, cookware, etc., even if we hadn't brought our own. The floor needed a little sweep when we arrived, but everything else was clean. Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

Weekend Trip to SnugLife Camping
Jody and Keith’s site was beautiful. The stove in the tent kept it cozy throughout the autumn night. They provided a garden cart to transport our things which was helpful. The air mattress was as comfortable as an air mattress can be. Jody and Keith recommended that we bring lights, since we were arriving after sunset, but we foolishly overestimated the power of our phone flashlights. So definitely bring a few lanterns. I would definitely stay again. It was beautiful by the river.

Weekend Trip to Winimusett Farm
Awesome place, 10/10. My friend and I had a great night at the cabin. Huge property. Cabin is up on the hill. Well out-fitted. Great big open space down below. The hill is non-trivial, but Eric helped us bring up some of our gear in his tractor. Eric was very friendly, and Misty (with whom I communicated with messaging) was also very friendly and responsive. This was my first experience with HipCamp and it was excellent. Highly recomment.

1 night at Glamping with the Wild Horses
The property and wild horses was breath taking the whole experience exceeded our expectations. The staff and owners were beyond friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Would definitely come back again and recommend for anyone that has a love for horses and nature to come and have a stay.

Beautiful, tucked away cabin in a quiet and romantic area! It was absolutely stunning (especially with the New England fall leaves!). We loved the wood-burning stove and super comfy couch and bed for a weekend away! Misty has everything you might need — just prepare for a bit of a short hike to the top of the hill for the cabin. I had to switch into my hiking boots, as the hill is steep. We didn’t have a chance to explore the trails, but we would love to return for another visit and magical weekend!

This was a beautiful spot! Nice fields with some level areas and a good spot for a fire pit. The pond with doc was nice as well. The host was very nice and helpful. Only thing is the hill climb to the cabin was much steeper than we expected.

Weekend Trip to Glamping with the Wild Horses
This was so much fun! To wake up and see the horses (and donkeys!) wandering right outside our dome was perfect, and getting to do the walk about with MacKenzie and learn about the horses and their background was so interesting.
The dome was clean and cozy, with a little wood stove. We weathered a hurricane in October with no problems.

beautiful, restful, only bring what u can carry down a bumpy, rocky, hilly half mile, bring water, wood, lights. my dog and i were very content. the heater wood stove was hard to figure out, glad it wasn't colder. the latrine situation was also confusing. i was not prepared to pack out my trash, sadly. I'll be better prepared when we come again, maybe for a few days next time. The tent, bed, platform, site were clean, comfy and inviting. would still be comfy w more people. the full moon on the brook at night was intoxicating ♡ thanks for letting me reserve so late and last minute!! k n maya

I traveled to Mary's property with my husband, two children (11 and 9), and two large dogs (Newfies). We had plenty of space, lots of privacy, and such a comfortable stay. Each of us wished we could have spent more time here!
We rented the beehive cabin, library, and tipi. The cabin was plenty spacious for my whole crew and was so cozy and comfy. We slept very well, even on a futon! The library was the kids' favorite hangout. The outdoor kitchen was awesome, and even though our wood-fired pizzas looked terrible (don't forget flour!), they were fun to make and tasted great. Our pups appreciated being able to be off lead for the first time on our New England road trip.
We made the most of every square inch of Mary's space. From a yoga workout on the meditation platform, to s'mores around the fire pit, there's something for everyone here!

We rented the beehive cabin, library, and tepee. The cabin was plenty spacious for all of us, providing us great sleep, even on a futon! The library was the kids’ favorite place to relax and kick back. The outdoor kitchen was awesome, and even though our wood-fired pizzas looked awful (don’t forget flour to prevent sticking! 😅), they were fun to make and tasted great. We used just about every inch of the camp. I got in a morning yoga session on the meditation platform, and we roasted s’mores by the fire pit at night.
Amenities and activities were close by, too! We hiked the Tully Mountain Loop Trail, and the views were beautiful!
If you’re considering a visit, don’t hesitate! Both Mary and her property are one of a kind.

3 nights at Glamp Frogmore
Justin and Amy are very friendly and responsive to any questions. They give very detailed instructions before arrival. The campsite is peaceful and comes with so many amenities, packing was so easy. Getting an add on of a cooler full of ice was so great, the ice lasted the whole time we were there!
