Enjoy a tranquil weekend at Winimusett Farm, a 28 acre retreat on a flower farm with 4 ponds, many streams and rolling fields. This space offers 3 rooms, a wood stove, microwave, 2 queen beds and 2 twin bed, a spacious living room and dining area. The bunk house is on the lower part of the pond, making it more accessible as parking is right at the door.
There are private camp sites for guests who prefer to pitch a tent or park their van or RV. There's a portable toilet on site seasonally for guests staying on the lower half of the farm.
We can accommodated small respectful groups of campers looking for a quiet stay in nature. It's a great spot for local Scout Troops to pitch their tents and explore nature. Message for more information.

A Touch of Hardwick History
In 1686, Captain Samuel Ruggles and seven men purchased this land from the Nipmuck people for twenty British pounds. His grandson, Brigadier General Timothy Ruggles, became a notorious Loyalist — driven from Hardwick at dawn by his own brother Benjamin, who warned him: “Cross today and you will never cross again alive.” His daughter Bathsheba became the first woman executed in the newly independent United States, for murdering her husband — told in Murdered by His Wife by Deborah Navas.

With 9,000 acres of wooded hills and an 18-acre pond, the whole population of Hartford could get lost here.
If getting lost is indeed what you’d like to do, you can do so by land or water. Getting lost by canoe on the pond is highly recommended, although getting lost in the forest is equally pleasurable. However, we should clarify that we are referring to “getting lost” metaphorically. It is not actually a good idea to physically lose your sense of direction here. I have about 3 acres with lots of gardens and surrounded by forest. There is a huge organic garden and greenhouse. We get lots of wildlife here. I'm about 20 minutes from Mount Wachusett and 5 minutes from the Quabbin. Lots of hiking all around, including from my farm (a nice 3 mile walk through a wildlife preserve). Worcester is about a 30 minute drive. Lot's of lakes all around with good fishing. The town of Barre has some excellent restaurants, a grocery store, hardware store, etc. This is an organic farm so you must use biodegradable products in you use my dump station. No bleach11 We close for the winter season from November 1 through the end of March.

Our 2 acre property and house is located in the center of the small town of Leverett. We have two sites, a private camping spot located down by the stream, and a yurt at the edge of the yard. We are near a paved road with moderate traffic.
The property abuts many acres of woods and there are a number of great walking trails nearby. A half-mile walk behind the house takes you through the forest to an outlook on Leverett Pond.
The Peace Pagoda is just a few miles up the road. Other nearby destinations include Cushman Market and Cafe, the Montague Bookmill, and Mt. Toby waterfall, caves, and lookout tower.
Leverett Pond has a public boat launch nearby. We have canoes, paddles, and lifejackets available for rent--inquire for details!
The area has excellent bike riding as well. We enjoy all these activities and are happy to share further destinations, routes, and suggestions!

Our driveway is located about 3 miles from the start of the Boston Marathon, 8 minutes from 495, but, down a country road. We find our property to be quite peaceful. We do have crickets and frogs to lull you to sleep and early birds to greet you in the morning. Keep an eye out for turtles!
We are a few hundred yards from either Upton State Forest or Lake Whitehall. Lake Whitehall is popular with boaters (speed limit enforced) and is stocked with fish. No swimming. There is a public boat ramp on the other side of the lake. We often put in our kayaks at the entrance close to our house. We hike, mountain bike and picnic in these parks. It's really beautiful. There is a 24-hour grocery store 2 miles down the road.
The gravel campsite is located at the barn end of our driveway in front of the red barn. There is a little privacy from the house, but, we may need to get into the barn from time to time. We have a 30amp and water hookup at the barn. If planning on using electric please add one "electric hookup" extra to each night of your stay BEFORE finishing the request to book, it's really difficult to add it after. Please plan to bring 50' of hose and/or 25ft of electrical cord if using hookups. There is wifi, BUT, it's pretty weak at the barn. Definitely not strong enough for streaming! Our Ibex camper may or may not be parked next to the barn depending on if we are out camping! We do not accept car campers.
Turtle Path also has a Guest Suite. Find us on that other website! Shortly after we moved in we discovered a large snapping turtle on his way from Lake Whitehall to the creek at the back of our property. Our neighbor told us that's the turtle's usual route. Turtle won our hearts that day.

Salamander Hollow is a private, evolving honeybee and human being
sanctuary on 17 acres of land abutting Massachusetts State Forest. We
currently have a one-room, wood stove warmed, cozy sleeping loft for one or two - with two benches below on either side of room - for two sleeping bags; plus, a separate 22 foot Sioux tipi with two cots. There are two chairs in the tipi, which if removed at night, make floor room for four other sleeping bags.
'Forest Bathing' for miles!
If you're a larger group booking Salamander Hollow main camp with its Sleeping Library, Tipi & Slovenian Beehive House, you might consider renting this additional Tiny Cabin want to entertain all in glamping style, utilizing its amenities; as well, providing another bathroom/shower and guest bedroom for those who prefer being indoors while in the great outdoors.
Note that Kula Bata Tiny Cabin abuts the wheelchair accessible larger bathroom/shower which is available to those at the Salamander Hollow main camp, yet you are secluded with your own private entry points and private bathroom.
A ten minute drive takes you to the parking area to hike up Tully Mountain. There is a grill, wood fired pizza oven, two fire pits and a hygienic Incinolet electric toilet on the property for night convenience, with small camp sinks for washing & teeth brushing.
Take a short hike off the property to organic Chase Hill Farm for milk, eggs, seasonal veggies, grass fed meat and other goodies. Say hello to their cows, chickens, pigs, goats, pups and kids. Nestled across the road from Salamander Hollow is Timber Haven Farm, where you can schedule your pickup of bacon and eggs, while loading up on delicious Owl Energy Bars for your adventurous excursions. For those interested in the glamping side of camping, you will enjoy a remote rustic experience with a few creature comforts to keep you well read, clean and fed. An established Western facing four point sacred Medicine Wheel site being established on Askari Ridge - our name for the slope starting with the two fire pits - 'Askari' being Swahili for night guard.
Here is where we envision a great touch-point area for those leading groups to be for a base-camp by day or night, where eventually a multi-use tenting platform/performance stage will be constructed for outdoor entertainment, creating an authentic 'stadium style' seating on the hill.
You will see on your way up to Salamander Hollow main clearing - the Kula Bata Tiny Kabin on the left of the dirt road- now available to rent with its small guest room for two, infrared sauna, hot shower, kitchenette, dishwasher and laundry.

I cannot say enough great things about Rosy Goat. My partner and I have camped here two years in a row now and have loved every moment. My first ever Hipcamp and I picked a good one! The view was amazing, and I felt safe and secure all night long. For those who want to park at the site, there is a small, semi steep hill. I drive a Honda accord and made it up with no issues on a dry day.

Anne and Brett's site is the perfect spot to be off the beaten path but still close enough to the main drag. There were two of us and our two labs, they loved the giant field! We grabbed breakfast sandwiches at Mimis down the road before exploring the beautiful and quiet Quabbin Reservoir. We had full cell service too(Verizon.) Their camp offers solitude(except for a surprise visit from their beautiful pups!) you look for in a camp, all you can hear is bird song and the occasional horse whinny. Down the road is a bakery, pizza house, package store and Cumberland Farms. The owners were very quick to respond to our messages and said to let them know if there was anything we needed. The site itself is very clean with fire ring, firewood, picnic table and a very spacious. Book it today, you won't regret it, we will be back!

Great camping spot with a lot of flat space for tents. We fit three tents and two pop-ups in the area! Firewood was abundant and the fire pit was maintained and plenty big. In the summer months I think this spot would allow for even more privacy. Since we camped in the spring, there wasn’t a lot of foliage to block the road or the tiny home across the way from the camp site. There was a lot of traffic for a dirt road (10-12 vehicles went by each day of our stay) that was about 100 yards away. Unfortunately a neighbor had a dog that barked for long periods of time. None of which is in the owner’s control of course, bur helpful for knowing what to expect.

We had a lovely relaxing getaway. Quiet mornings on the back porch sipping coffee while our 16 month old wandered around - following the dog. We would forest bath/hike in the afternoons & enjoy sessions in the sauna while baby naps. Fires & wine warmed us as we reflected about our days under the moon lit sky. This place is so cozy and are grateful for our time spent here.

19 ft truck camper
The people are what makes the Hip Camp experience great, and Rob came through in spades! Had a late-minute reservation as I made my way through the area, and as soon as it was done, Rob hit me up to offer some pointers, directions, and made me feel right at home. Though it was a cold, rainy (and snowy!) spring day in MA, the sites were easy to find. Lovely little base of operations to explore the area. I have a Tacoma truck camper, so it was easy to pick where I wanted to set up and get out of the cold. It is a hilly area, which is part of the charm and beauty, so make sure you have your leveling blocks / system. Would I recommend Rob's place? Yes! Is Rob a rock star and a tribute to the Hip Camp community? No doubt!

Had a wonderful weekend on Mary’s land! The Kula Bata Cabin was absolutely perfect for the two of us and our pup! Mary is a great host and has cultivated a beautiful, peaceful space.
