The Martha’s Vineyard Family Campground began as a vacant wooded lot in 1968. The land was purchased by Charles and Jeanne Feeney from a retired doctor living in Vineyard Haven. Charles “Chuck” Feeney was an aerospace engineer at the time and was always taking his kids camping. His dream was to have a place for the family to camp and call their own. So together with his wife and five children he converted a bus into a camper and carved out a site amongst the wild blueberry bushes and scrub oak trees. Our family fell in love with the island. We discovered all the island has to offer and found it irresistible. We were the tourists of yesteryear and what attracted our family back then still exists today: beautiful beaches, fabulous fishing, quaint villages, and amazing sunsets. From the rolling hills of Aquinnah to the dunes of Katama, there is no place on earth like it.
Martha’s Vineyard
When Chuck found out his job was relocating him to California, he made the bold move to make his family campsite and land available to you. With a lot of hard work and great family pride, the construction of Martha’s Vineyard Family Campground began. During the first few summers of construction, we lived in the converted bus and tents. Slowly the sites and the roads were carved out. Summer vacations meant clearing land and pouring cement. The campground was officially opened in the spring of 1972 and has been a family-run operation ever since. Today the campground is managed by a third generation of The Feeney Family. The goal has always been to provide a quality camping experience for families who wish to visit this wonderful island. DunRoamin on Peter’s Pond is a perfect family getaway. We offer a playground, and fun activities throughout the summer. Join us for weekly campfires and have s'mores at the beach. There are plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures in our campground. Hike the small walking trail and discover local fauna and woodland creatures. Your child will love exploring the woods and discovering the wonders of nature. Our main attractions are swimming and building sandcastles on our private beach. However, nothing compares to catching crawfish with a flashlight or chasing fireflies on a hot summer night!

Welcome to your secluded retreat nestled at the end of a long, 400-foot paved driveway, offering unparalleled privacy and tranquility. With ample space to accommodate any size RV, you'll find all the comforts of home amid the serene surroundings.
We have three sites. Site 2 has electric and water hookup available and is crushed level stone approximately 100 x 100 feet for easy access off driveway. Fire pit and fire wood provided.
Site 1 is not as private but can accommodate a large rig with portable fire pit and wood provided. 15 amp available for $10 more a night.
Just added a third plus sights for the adventure types! You can drive a short trail with your off road rig or truck to a very private space in our woods. Or park on our large circle rock driveway .We could take your gear with our ATV and trailer to your pick of a site if tenting is preferred! We can accommodate as many tent sites as needed with a walk into our 15 acres and you pick your own sites. Very private !! All sites have a portable fire pit with a lid for safety!
We are situated just 7 miles from Narragansett Bay and popular attractions like Battleship Cove, with beaches just a short drive away, you're perfectly positioned to explore the natural beauty of the area. I loved this location, I’m from the town and did not realize this was available. When I pulled up there were agricultural tours going on but everyone cleared out before sunset and I was able to set up a nice secluded area for my fire, great views over the cranberry bog and located closely to convenience stores

Beautiful, and peaceful. There is a lovely driveway to down to the property, guaranteeing privacy from the road. The site itself was pretty large, and flat! Exactly what we needed for a peaceful night's sleep. Host checked in on us to make sure we had everything. Deff will book again! Our van is lifted so we may try the more remote site ☺️

Easily accessible on rte. 77! Some traffic noise but dies down by evening. Loved the little hike to the Pond with kayak/canoe available to spend some time on the water. We had such a great summer at this spot. We started out booking a short trip and were going to bounce around to different spots, but ended up reaching back out and staying all summer. It is a perfect quiet spot, close to so many great things to do, and even though we had to pack up every so often to pump out at a close RV park, we were happier at this spot than we would have been at the area RV parks. It was more shaded and quiet than we would have at a park and better proximity to enjoy beaches from Westport to Newport. We'll be back!
