For sleeping there is a full size bed in the loft and a pull out couch on the first floor (there is also a cot if need be). Though it is not far from the main house the cabin is surrounded by trees and is very private. Hiking trails abound in many directions. From a quick trip to the top of our Blueberry Hill to day hikes on the Coastal Mountain land trust trails. In nearby Camden, Rockland and Belfast, restaurants, shopping and galleries abound. Each cabin has two twin beds and includes two Adirondack chairs, a firepit, a small indoor table with two chairs, two LED-powered lanterns, one fan, 5 gallons of potable water, a simple outdoor kitchen table, a picnic table, and access to a propane on-demand shower house. The bathroom facilities include a shared port-o-potty or a compostable toilet—both options are available. These cabins are off the grid, with no power or water inside. We have a clean port-o-potty, serviced once a week, shared between the second cabin and one tent site. Potable water is provided in large jugs on the outdoor kitchen table. Please use eco-friendly soap for all dishes and body washing in the lake or in the field. Pets are welcome on a leash. We also have one dog on the property. Wi-Fi may be spotty, but information on connecting is provided in each cabin. You may need to get closer to the garage or house for better service. There is a small free library on the property with a few games you can borrow and return at no charge—perfect for a rainy evening. Be prepared for Maine’s environment and bring bug spray. This little cabin is secluded in the woods. There is a 200 foot path leading to it. On the right you will find an outhouse and outdoor shower, complete with hot water. On the left is the little cabin. On the porch is a barbeque grill with a griddle on 1 side. In the cabin you will find a double hot plate, coffee maker, tea jug with potable water, pots and pans as well as paper goods. For sleeping there is a full size bed in the loft and a pull out couch on the first floor (there is also a cot if need be). Though it is not far from the main house the cabin is surrounded by trees and is very private. Hiking trails abound in many directions. From a quick trip to the top of our Blueberry Hill to day hikes on the Coastal Mountain land trust trails. In nearby Camden, Rockland and Belfast, restaurants, shopping and galleries abound. There are many schooners and fishing trips available as well. At the end of the day, have a campfire in our fire pit. The firewood is provided but bring your own marshmallows. c

Michelle's cabin was a great spot to stay overnight, she was communicative and clear with directions and always easy to get in touch with. The cabin was quaint, cosy and fit 3 people without a problem, the outhouse and shower were clean and super helpful, too - definitely would stay again!

This was my first Hipcamp and it was great. The cabin had everything we needed and though it definitely got cold, as we were visiting in mid-November, a fire and plenty of blankets kept us warm through the nights. This is a lovely little camping and so peaceful!

This was our second visit to Paul's cabin and did not disappoint again. Paul made sure there was enough water and wood to last our stay. There is now a flushing toilet outside which was a nice treat. There are many fantastic walking trails close by including the Appalachian Trail. This time round we spent time at North Pond and Juniper Knee Pond and hiked 4ish hour to Little Wilson Falls (there and back and time at the falls).

Weekend Trip to Trees of Life Retreat (ToLR)

My pup and I had a great time at ToLR. We had a hilarious greeting of turkeys and hens and then about 100 yards then to the right and we were there! The happy birds were a highlight each morning, the nuthatches were busy. The trails behind the woodshed were lovely and quiet. The cabin was so clean and so thoughtfully done. We didn’t want to leave and will for sure be back. Such a lovely and peaceful place.

The weather held out long enough to enjoy walking through the trails on the property, and building a fire in the wood stove was perfect for the rainy and chilly evening. What an awesome spot! The Birds Nest doesn’t disappoint. The Nest sits on the same property as the owner but it’s far enough away that you can’t even see anything. Such a magical little cabin with an awesome wood stove that will keep you more than cozy. Everything was nice and clean/tidy….the outhouse was the same. Amazing location for hiking. World class fly fishing in the Carrabassett River not far away. Me and the ole girl and I can’t wait to come back!!

4 nights at Graham Cracker Cabin and Campsites

Super helpful hosts and a nice Hipcamp. It is as advertised for the most part being a rustic cabin. We've stayed in many rustic cabins through Hipcamp. A few things to note: Even though there is a woodstove (we used every night to keep us warm) the cabin does not hold heat because the walls to the cabin have large gaps so we had to use 4 bundles of hardwood a night to keep it comfortable at night (temps in the 20° to mid 30°s) We were somewhat prepared because we knew it wasn't insulated but we were not expecting the amount of heat loss due to all the gaps in the cabin. There are other campsites on the property which are a good distance away (some within sight) We got a little freaked out by a group of campers walking up to the cabin at 10:30 at night and waking us up. (Definitely not the host's fault) but just be aware it's not the most secluded. Being in the cabin it was a little quieter but this spot is off a main road so there is a bit of noise from that but definitely not something that would completely deter me. The host was very helpful when we mentioned that we'd like to drive up to the cabin. They told us we were not able to do that (I'd just suggest taking that as an option off the listing because we chose this site in part because of that having 4wd) but they offered to help us bring our stuff with another wagon attached to the owners tractor which was very nice. The cabin is equipped with everything you would need for rustic camp: pots, pans, water, utensils.

Weekend Trip to Cabin of the Woods at Tilden Pond

Robert's cabin at Tilden Pond is a wonderfully secluded get away spot with a beautiful woods walk (15mins) to the pond. We were happy about being able to park next to the cabin for easy unloading of gear. We liked making meals over a camp stove we brought and at the fire pit to calls of loons and owls. We brought our own tent but opted to stay in the cabin on the cots provided, which were comfortable with our sleeping pads and bags. Our dog loved having the woods to romp in unleashed. The sunset at the pond was a highlight. On a future trip we hope to take advantage of the double kayak. We saw others kayaking, sailing, and fishing off in the distance. Robert has done a good job repairing the road recently but it is important to have a truck or vehicle with good clearance to drive in. We loved having both Belfast and Camden only minutes away.

Lisa was amazing about communicating before and during my trip. She was also super helpful on directing me to the perfect spot to watch the sunset. The Brid's Nest was exactly as described, and. a fun cabin to stay in. It is a little bit of a walk up to the cabin, but there is a wagon to help load up your suitcases. Sunrise through the trees the next morning was absolutely beautiful along with my drive to my next destination. If you don't mind glamping without the extra fluff, I recommend staying here!

Weekend Trip to Vana Kuti-cabin in the woods

After a night of camp tenting and a long day at the Common Ground Fair, the Vaca Kuti cabin was a luxury! A clean composting toilet, a hot shower, and a utility sink were just a short walk from the cutest little cabin with cozy decor. Inside were books, games, a mini-fridge, a tea kettle, and many other amenities. In the upstairs loft was a comfortable queen bed with sheets and pillows and warm blankets. We were too tired to have a campfire but enjoyed a hot cup of tea and a hot shower before tucking in. We both slept like rocks because the loft was completely dark and completely quiet! In the morning we enjoyed a hot cup of coffee (coffee grounds & coffee maker provided!) out on the porch while taking in the beautiful trees that surrounded us. Cannot recommend this spot enough!
