4 sites · Tents207 acres · Benton, ME
Part of an early 19th century farming community which faded into history well over a hundred years ago. Since then, it has been used exclusively for hunting, trapping and timber harvest. Other then a few scattered seasonal hunting camps, this is a privately owned uninhabited / undeveloped tract of land on the Eastern banks of the Seabasticook River watershed. Learn more about this land: Primitive Tent Camping within a mixed wood forest. Located ten miles East of Waterville, Maine or Six miles West of Unity, Maine. The Sebasticook Millennium Green is a terraced 207 acre forest with over 18 miles of trails. Vehicle access is via a seasonal town road with parking a short walk from campsites. O'Rye Farm

3 sites · Tents75 acres · Strong, ME
Started in 2021 by Kaitlyn & Matt, O'Rye Farm is a low-till diverse farmstead located in the foothills of the Maine Lakes & Mountains Region. Nestled along the Sandy River, O'Rye Farm offers a camping experience for those looking to "get away". Guests can enjoy an isolated campsite closer to the wildlife than to people with access to the Sandy River for swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing. Hike on several miles of trails through the woods, field, and even walk the old railroad bed which once ran the Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes Narrow Gauge Railroad. If you're looking for more human interaction then we are only 15 minutes from downtown Farmington, a vibrant small town with strong agricultural roots. There is always something new going on here at the farm. Whether its raising chickens for eggs and meat, laying out new garden beds, or building a new structure, we are happy to engage interested campers about what we are doing and why. Seasonally, enjoy the various bounties of our gardens and learn what it means for us to live off the land in a way that leaves this land better than we found it. Feel free to explore the property as you like with respect to our ongoing operations. Recreational cannabis is legal and permitted. Please carry out your trash and be respectful of wildlife, plants, and ecosystems. No campfires allowed at sites, we will host a fire on weekends, when conditions allow, in our iron fire pit. Bring an instrument or a story to share, or ask a farmer your burning questions!
