There is a market, hardware, lumberyard, and marine supply stores in town for supplies, gasoline, diesel, propane, and other necessities. Eating out options are possible as well. There are some options right in town, but more options a short drive to other neighboring areas. You will need to acknowledge, and agree to the rental agreement / liability waiver / Rules before you will be allowed to experience a stay at Searenity. Learn more about this land: You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals. Walking past the pond and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below. The cabin is furnished with a full sized futon, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights. Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin. A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor. The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sun sets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals and will provide ample space to respect your privacy. A small gas grill and cooler can be provided, Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.

We are located 2 miles from Route 1 Milbridge and about 2 miles from Route 1A Milbridge Find us on YouTube videos of wild animals and campground area 😊 A-Frame Cabin 10’by10’, private, fire pit, benches, picnic table and hammock. The Cabin is 75’ from Old County Road and 200’ from the parking area. A cell phone booster is at the campground which works good and runs all the time and no wifi or power at the cabins off grid. Shower is located at the cabins. We are located 2 miles from Route 1 Milbridge and about 2 miles from Route 1A Milbridge and we just fixed the Old County Road and the parking area and the road is settling from being fixed but low cars have been making into the parking area with no problems. The paths are primitive and not suited for people who have trouble walking on uneven ground. We provide solar lights, propane stove, propane, natural bug spray, battery bank charger, 1 small bottled water per guests and sleeping bags. Heat provided from Oct 1 to April 30. No Out of State Maine Firewood. No water at the shower from October 15 to April 30 because of the frost.

I can’t say enough great things about this spot! My dog and I stayed for two and a half months and easily could have stayed twice as long. -The location is perfect — tucked in a residential area that offers plenty of privacy and peace, yet surrounded by friendly neighbors so it never feels isolated. You’re close to everything: most Acadia trails on Mount Desert Island are within a 25-minute drive, with many even closer (10-15 minutes). Bar Harbor is just 10 minutes away, offering great restaurants, shops, boat tours, and more. -The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable — I work remotely full-time from my rig and never had a single issue, even with constant Zoom and Teams video meetings. -Scott, the host, is fantastic — friendly, responsive, and genuinely welcoming, with excellent local recommendations. -It’s also a dog-friendly spot. There’s plenty of grassy space for short walks, and the lawn was mowed weekly, which I really appreciated. -The full hookups were in excellent condition and worked perfectly. There’s even a garden hose attached to the water line for convenience. -Parking was a breeze — the site is spacious and easy to maneuver into no matter the size of your rig. I live in a 30-foot Airstream and had no trouble backing in at all. Overall, this was one of my favorite stays — private, convenient, well-maintained, and hosted by someone who truly cares. Highly recommend!

1 night at Balsam Hill Cabins

We loved Sienna’s sweet lodging in the woodsy glen, and stayed an extra day to enjoy it. She was responsive and helpful throughout our stay and has thought of every detail inside the cabin and around- the bed was very comfortable, the outdoor shower delightful and we kept the side lifted for most of the day. We will definitely return and are telling all our friends about this wonderful spot!

1 night at Balsam Hill Cabins

I enjoyed staying in the cabin but unfortunately it was a one night stay and that one night was a big rain storm. Since I came in on a motorcycle and was already drenched it kind of hindered my ability to really enjoy everything this place had to offer. While I was stuck inside the cabin I found it incredibly clean, comfortable, and well appointed. I was surprised by the lack of bugs present seeing as there are many ways for them to get in as there are lots of gaps between the wood siding. I hope to return when I can enjoy the firepit and outdoor area another time. The rain did provide a wonderful soundtrack to sleep to and the kitchen is well stocked with all you need to cook with.

Hillside Campsite South is incredibly convenient for anyone wanting access to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor! There are two sites next to each other that are spacious and level with easy access in and out. The host Scott is very helpful and quick to respond to any questions. The site itself is actually part of a hotel in Bar Harbor, so you have access to the laundry facilities and pool at the hotel. Some folks may not like that the water pressure can vary (not sure if that's dependent on if the neighbors were using water, but there were times when the pressure would drop very low) and garbage needs to be taken to a dumpster about 5 minutes away (not a big deal). Otherwise, you can walk or bike into Hull's Cove on sidewalks and even access the Carriage roads of Acadia! Highly recommend this site!

I usually visit NYC for my birthday but this year I decided to try something completely different and this was the full 180 from NYC. Instead of waking to the honking of traffic, it was the beautiful sounds of birds (and the friendly roosters). Though it was cold, I went into this knowing to bundle up. I brought extra blankets and was plenty warm. As another review posted, I brought battery powered string lights and a few extra candles and loved reading in the cozy bed at night. We did go through a lot of wood so we bought another bundle. Sorry to the hosts for using so much wood and candlelight! The chickens were absolutely hilarious. They surrounded us every time we walked by. I loved the mellow horses and all of the other animals. It was difficult not to just hang out with them all day. We hiked around the land and went into town a few times. Everyone was so friendly. Highly recommend for nature lovers!

Planned a solo trip to unplug & reset, and couldn't have asked for a better spot. The cabin was even lovelier in person, perfect size, simple & charming... chilly at times but the space heater kept me warm. Amazing use of space... the little cooking area had everything you need but barely took up space. Saw more stars than I have in a long time. Loved the little bridge over a stream and the feeling of privacy & safety. Not much is nearby as far as amenities but great hiking along the coast (~25 minutes driving) was exactly what I needed. Linens were clean & smelled amazing. Will be back. Thank you Sienna! 🙏🏼🌲✨️

This spot is a hidden gem in Bar Harbor! I stayed up the road at Narrows Too before it closed for the season, and I enjoyed the privacy at Scott’s place much more! It’s close to everything, and he is very responsive with any questions you might have. It is very close to the carriage trails where we road our bikes very often. You have to travel 5 min to a dumpster so that part is a little inconvenient but at least he has a spot for us to dump trash. I will 100% be back!

Had such an amazing time with the most amazing view, me and the pup enjoyed 2 nights on this beach overlook and will definitely be back in the future, the host was friendly and responsive for all my questions! 10/10 recommend you stay here!
