We have four raised platforms, accessible by car, each with a canvas-covered A-frame Each platform is nested in their own private setting around the edges of our 12-acre organic blueberry barren. All four platforms are fully screened-in, with stylish canvas-covered timberframes and circular red doors. These canvas tents are relatively bug-proof and waterproof; you do not need to bring a tent! You do need to bring your own bedding. ***If you are particularly sensitive to bugs, you may want to bring your own tent (to put inside our tent) or a mosquito net. This is the Northeast during the summertime, we cannot ensure there will be no bugs. Blueberry Land is part of Smithereen Farm, but is located around the corner from our Home Farm on Youngs Cove Road, near Reversing Falls. This is an off grid, rustic site with only a port-a-potty. If you need to use any other amenities, you are welcome to use the WIFI, fill your water bottles, charge your electric vehicle and buy supplies at the Smithereen Farmstore (12 Little Falls Road, Pembroke). We sell cold drinks, beer and wine, frozen fish, meat, our own fruit popsicles, also organic veggies, honey, products from many local and Maine farms, camping supplies, ready to eat food, snacks, chocolates and even fresh baked cookies. Park at the store, and then jump into the Pennamaquan River (two dams, a rope swing) to cool off after exploring the town. Note: there is no potable water at the site, you will need to bring a vessel and fill up in town. There are beautiful walking, biking and canoeing opportunities in every direction—check out Cobscook Shores, Downeast Coastal Conservancy trails by Reversing Falls, Maine Coast Heritage trails on the Bold Coast and at Sipps Bay, Nature Conservancy trail at Hersey Point, Shackford head at Eastport, and of course much more on Campobello. Blueberry bushes are low, native, fruit-growing, covered in flowers in spring and then berries in summer, turning bright bright red in the fall when kissed by frost. Our blueberries are certified organic by MOFGA and surrounded by birch, fir, spruce and flowering perennial beds to improve insect habitat. Please DO NOT DRIVE/ tread ON THE BERRIES, they are food that we harvest and sell! Park in the parking lot, three sites are immediately visible, the fourth site is a further drive down the road, past the port-o-potty, in the back field, to the left. Low hung vehicles beware! If in doubt park in the parking lot. Upon booking, we will send you a PDF welcome packet filled with helpful information about the farm, local sites to see, and a comprehensive list of our recommendations. We will say it again: remember to prepare for MOSQUITOES in summer! We really recommend you approach Washington County as an opportunity to PICNIC! The "dining out" options are limited. Bring a pocketknife, a frying pan, a big cooler for butter and milk with ice packs so you can pick up local crabmeat (Betty's Crabmeat) and mayo and salads (Smithereen Farmstore) and eggs from ends of driveways, bring a cutting board—a big water jug, a camp stove/kettle, more warm socks than you think you need... and a sense of adventure! Happy Dwelling is just 10 minutes from downtown Machias, Maine. It rests on 8 acres of land. Woods create a private and peaceful stay. You may enjoy starry night skies and soft orange sunrises. Just a short walk, is the lovely Sunrise Trail, a converted old train line, for biking, walking, four-wheeling, and horseback riding. Lakes are close by for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. Learn more about this land: Open green space surrounded by pine trees. The sites are nestled in spaces surrounded by trees for a sense of peace and privacy. Firepits are at each site. Also on-site, chair and table massage by appointment (I am the Massage Therapist!). We built a new outhouse! It's beautiful! Potable water is available by hose from my house. There are lots of hiking trails in the area. If you're interested in touring some of the towns nearby, Lubec, Eastport, Machias, and Campobello Island are all good choices. And, they all have a hiking trail or two, and I place to have lunch.

The camp site is located on the same property as Robinson's Housekeeping Log Cottages. The business was started 4 generations ago with one small cabin in 1920 by William Robinson and his wife Shirley. The cottages are located on the bank of the Dennys River, on land owned by generations of Robinsons since 1875. There are 6 log cottages and one small clapboard cottage located on the property. We also have direct access to the Sunrise Trail. Learn more about this land: This campsite is located on the bank of the Dennys River and very close to the small pond also on the property. It is a wooded lot with a firepit (wood included), picnic table, and tenting/campervan spot. Nearby are a swing set, volleyball/badminton net, horseshoes, and a beach on the river. Water bottles can be filled at the Cottages office. There are canoes, a rowboat, and a kayak that can be used for free by campers. Life jackets can be found hanging outside by the office. We have direct access to the Sunrise Trail and are located between mile marker 79 and 80.

Ideal for both tent camping and campers. The 10 total acreage of the Woodlot Farm Camp'n area is all you need for a magical, down east Maine camping experience. The land consists of beautiful hard and soft wood trees, while the non-wooded 2 acres includes a wide, horse-shoe gravel driveway for parking, a small pig pen, a chicken run/coop, small pond, over-grown grassy area and garden space. A 24' cargo trailer is stationed onsite next to a small solar shed in the chicken area. There is driveway space to park 2 vehicles, and 1 camper. The entrance to the Woodlot Farm is off of Steam Mill Rd, which turns into a fantastic, popular jeep/ATV rd at the property. This rd is also used for hiking, and mountain biking in summer/fall when drier. ATV enthusiasts can pitch a tent here at the trail, which connects to the local lakes, and numerous other trails. Mill Cove is a magical view point destination, and a brief cruise from the farm at just 1.4 miles / 4 minutes down the road. This popular attraction is the nearest beach on the Passamaquoddy Bay. Woodlot Farm is the small-scale, organic farm that is currently not in operation on. Explore the beauty of coastal downeast Maine from this quiet solar powered cabin and campsite along the Pennamaquon River. This remote property is surrounded by woods and connects two beauties--the Pennamaqoun Lake and Passamaquody Bay. The rocky Maine Coast, Reversing falls, the Sunrise Trail and the Moosehorn Wildlife Refuge are all nearby. Going up the river about 1/4 of a mile you will find yourself on a quiet lake where you are more likely to see an eagle than a person. About a 1/4 of a mile downriver you will come to a popular swim hole and rope swing. In the spring you might see spawning alewives. You may see ducks, eagles, king fisher, heron, beaver, turtles (or their nests) and loon right from the dock. You won't need your binoculars to catch site of the occasional Mainer floating by in a handmade wooden boat. If you wave, you might get a wave back. It's a soul restoring place appreciated most by those who like human powered activities--like kayaks, canoes and paddle boards (all provided) and a chance to cook on an open fire. There is a picnic table and 4 Adirondack chairs and no wifi. You might also like to swim or float down the river in an inner tube. You can fish on the dock or from your boat. If you have a bike-- head to the nearby Sunrise Trail or country roads. Head there too, if you have shoes and want a measured run (it goes about 87 miles through field, forest, swamp and bog with mileage noted). Eastport is a nearby seaside town with an arts center, shops and dining about 15 minutes away. You can go whale watching and you might just see porpoise, whales, eagles and Old Sow Whirlpool, the largest whirlpool in the Americas. Or stay on shore, and hunt for sea glass and cool rocks. Grab something to eat while you are there, and check out Don Dunbar's amazing nature photography and local gifts. There is also coastal hiking at Shackford Head. You might also head towards Lubec (about 45 minutes) and go on a coastal hike on the Bold Coast trail, or visit the Quoddy Head Lighthouse or cross the bridge into Canada and visist Campobello. 1 night at Happy Dwelling

Site 4 & 5 are both secluded and private. We like site #5 better because our 16ft camper van could easily back up and turn around to exit. There was a trail near our site that was lined with pine trees that gave a fragrant smell through the air. Birds congregated in the trees with soft chatter and at night it was so peaceful. Due to the ban on camp fires here, we cannot add additional comments on what that might have felt like but since we have experienced camp fires before, this probably would have been perfect. We had rain/drizzle over night waking to wet grasses in the morning but the sun quickly popped out later on. Our host was extremely friendly and accomodating upon our arrival the first night and left us with a warm feeling of kindness for our adventures aheaad. If you like the outdoors, plan on a night or two in the woods. Cell coverage was decent (AT&T).

Beautiful & peaceful spot. We heard owls and critters slipping into the water while making our dinner. The cabin was a comfortable refuge from the rain. The owners are kind and attentive. Since this is a very open site, we do recommend that folks bring a popup shelter.

I stayed here for a night on Labor Day weekend, using the tentsite by the river. So glad I came by! Very peaceful with the river and lake. Campfire pit, chairs, dry wood, clean portajohn all provided. I saw a moose on the way down to the campgrounds and even a shooting star!

Great, easy to access spot. The farm store was lovely and a great landing pad and place to return to for treats, treasures, literature and connection. The guide was thoughtful and well planned out. We used it to source food and adventures. We chose to set up our own tent inside the triangle tents just because we are used to it and it fit our sleep system well but I think we’d have been comfortable without it. The land itself had so many birds that we just sat outside with binoculars for hours. We also heard a porcupine mating call for the first time. Just a nice warm place to be. 100% recommend and would definitely return in the future.

We loved this campsite! Our family of 7 loves off the grid camping where we can have complete privacy and just enjoy our time in the woods together. This place was just perfect, and we definitely plan on going back. I keep hearing my kids say “that was our best camping spot ever!” The kayaks and paddle boards and dock were such fun, and the fire pit set up was great. We had a nice big spot for our tent and good hammock spots and the cabin was so cute and perfect. Also - an outhouse with a Dutch door - best idea ever! Conveniently located near Eastport, Quoddy Head, and many other places we love to visit. 10 out of 10 recommend - we will be back!

My husband, dog, and I loved camping at Blueberry Land! The land was beautiful, and the big, roomy tent platform felt spacious and welcome after we had come from camping in our little two-person tent. We could easily fit all of our gear, and it was a treat to be able to stand up inside (especially for my husband who is very tall!), stay cool and dry, and have a comfy pad to sleep on. What a delight to be able to wake up and pick blueberries to go with our breakfast, and be surrounded by so many different birds and trees- what a sweet place. We enjoyed the fire pit, the breeze from the water, and being able to run down the road to the Reversing Falls and drive up the road to the Smithereen Farm Store. Thank you!
