1 night at Toad Hill

The owners were great and super friendly! Clear directions as long as you read what they send! Big field with lots of place for pets to run around and multiple firepits! Luna (my dog ) and I will definitely be returning. Also there's trails nearby including a waterfall! Overall we had a great time, and can't wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Dancing Lawn

We enjoyed the yurt at Jason and Kelly’s. We are avid off-the-grid campers and found the yurt to be comfortable and a pleasant environment. We enjoyed the warm outdoor shower. The hosts were super responsive to any questions we had. We would definitely stay again.

Weekend Trip to Treeyurt

Absolutely amazing space. What a fun and unique place. Great setting in the woods overlooking a slow moving brook. Host was so great. I was bringing a 6 and 2 year old for the weekend. She gave recommendations for activities in the area to keep us busy during the rain. The space itself was stunning. The wood fireplace really set the ambiance. It was nice to have the skylight that opened to release some of the heat and allow for sounds of nature to fill the room. The beds were awesome, lots and lots of cozy pillows and thick blankets and plenty of space for more than just me and 2 small kids. The cooking area met almost every need. My daughter definitely got a kick out of the “outside” toilet. At night the sounds of owls, frogs and the little brook flowing over rocks was definitely the highlight. It was sooo peaceful to stay up and listen to the crackling of the fire and the nature sounds. Waking up and the fog had rolled in made it a great place to have a cup of coffee in the morning overlooking the forest. I absolutely recommend this to small families, couples wanting time away or a group of friends. Make sure you check the weather ahead of time and plan accordingly. Not a lot of space for kids to be rambunctious when they’re stuck inside. Absolutely will be a return customer. Thanks for being awesome

Weekend Trip to Treeyurt

My husband, pup and I LOVED staying in this cute yurt for a weekend! It’s private, nature-filled and CUTE! We arrived at night and the hanging lights were on, making it feel so welcome and like a little fairy tree house indeed! The beds were comfy, and we had everything we needed. Instructions and communication was straightforward. The outhouse was the best I’d ever been in, clean and no odor at all! I can take Amy takes great care of this place! Loved it and look forward to returning. The only change I’d make is adding a mirror somewhere. I’m definitely more of a glamper than a camper and would’ve loved a mirror to get ready with! Luckily I had a small one I always carry :)

Weekend Trip to Treeyurt

We had the best time, there was plenty of room for us and our great dane! It rained the entire weekend we were there but we didnt mind the cozy down time and we made the most of it. The yurt is beautiful and has all the necessities, Amy really does a nice job of making sure you have everything w/o overcrowding. We live about 40min away but it felt like we were further, its private yet still not far from anything you might need but I suggest bringing everything because you might not want to leave. This was our first time trying hipcamp and our expectations are going to high after this one, I think:)

Weekend Trip to Rooted Heart Farm Yurt

I absolutely loved my stay at the yurt. The staff was so incredibly helpful and kind the whole time. They were accommodating and really wonderful. The yurt was spacious with amply access to wood. The outhouse was so cute (I know weird thing to say about an outhouse). It was just a great trip. I cooked on the wood stove a pork stew and some tea. I would stay again, definitely. I’ll be posting a video to my YouTube Channel The_Traveling_Teacher.

1 night at Rooted Heart Farm Yurt

The yurt at Rooted Heart is an absolutely beautiful, brilliant destination!! After a peaceful walk through the gardens you come to the secluded shelter, clearly built with a great deal of love and intention. The interior offered everything we needed for the stay, and I really appreciate how they didn't over-cram the interior of the space, which is somwthing I've experienced at other yurt rentals. The Rooted Heart yurt, however, had a perfectly simple balance of aesthetically pleasing functionality and enough space to move around!! Delightful. I especially liked the big stone hearth, and the cute woodstove which kept the cold at bay. Plus, that privy design is second to none! The craftsfolk who put this thing together are obviously gifted artists! What a joy to experience. I will definitely be returning. Thank you so much, Rooted Heart fam!! <3

3 nights at Off Grid Black Yurt

Such a great spot to get away for a long weekend. The yurt is super comfortable and the stove heated the place up nicely! We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night, and we saw shooting stars! We are already planning a return trip.

Weekend Trip to Toad Hill

It was a little hard to locate, but it was very nice and quiet. We will probably try it again in the spring.

Weekend Trip to Treeyurt

We loved staying in Amy’s tree yurt! It was such a unique experience in a lovely wooded area. Amy was a great host, attentive, and proactive. We hope to stay there again the next time we are in Maine!

A quiet and well kept site. We plan on going back, good area for Astrophotography. The outhouse was clean and as expected. The sink with running water made washing dishes a breeze and close to the camping area. Lots of flat space to spread the camp out.

Toad Hill is a remote 45 acre property surrounded by pristine forest and located in the heart of The White Mountains. There is lots to do and see in the area. Hike, bike, snowmobile or ski from the door to waterfalls, ponds, or just around the property in search of birds and wildlife. Take a day trip to Province or Mountain Pond for both swimming and fly fishing. Toad hill also host a summer music festival and has beautiful sculptures around the property. When we first purchased our property, we were made aware of a young fella needing a spot to set up his yurt. He lived with us for two years before moving along. We had enjoyed having him and his yurt on our land so when he left, It left a virtual and metaphorical hole. A couple years later we had an opportunity to purchase a yurt from an outdoor adventure company and so it began. We improved upon our tenant's idea by adding a proper outhouse and outdoor shower area. The space offered us a quiet haven during hectic times and now we are ready to share that opportunity. Our yurt sits on a quiet and private nook on our 7 acre property. We are right in between Kennebunk and Biddeford so there are quite a number of areas to explore if you make us your home base. It is a lovely 6 mile ride to Goose Rocks Beach or you can spend an afternoon walking around Dock's Square in Kennebunkport. Biddeford is a rapidly rebuilding mill town that has made several high profile food and travel publications for its great dining spots. If you are visiting to get away from the city, we are less than a mile away from the Eastern Trail which connects South Portland to Kittery, ME. Bring a bike or plan a quiet walk. We have a little fire pit so feel free to spend the day here and enjoy the birds. We hope to see you soon Kelly and Jason
