Our Mission at the Shaky Barn Farm is to offer our quests a safe, private, comfortable and stress free camping experience. We are LGBTQIA friendly, and we welcome everyone here. Our off grid solar powered seasonal campsite includes platform with 4m Bell tent situated on a farm encompassing 60 acres of Maine woods, trails, fields and gardens. Our campsite is Pet Friendly and sits on an elevated area of a pine forest next to a mowed one-acre field. Campsite includes 4m Bell tent with a full-size bed and additional screened sitting/sleeping area on a separate platform. Our campsite includes a Porta potty, compost toilet, sun shower, and has a covered kitchen area and field stone campfire pit. We are 1.5 miles from Androscoggin River Lands State Park and close to Mt. Blue State Park and the Nezinscot Farm and Farm Store - Winner of the Northeast Region James Beard American Classics Award. We are neighbors with the Boothby Orchard and Farm Winery and the Washburn - Norlands Living History Center. Scheduling Notice: We have blocked out 5 weekends due to scheduled local events that some campers may find disruptive to their stay. The events are Mud runs held during the day with a music (Rap/Rock/Country) concert at night. Although the venue is one mile from our campsite these events can be heard as back ground noise from the camp site. The Mud runs are scheduled on the following weekends: 6/5-7, 7/3-5, 7/31-8/2, 8/28-30, and 10/2-4. If you feel you won't be bothered by these events taking place during your stay and would like to schedule a night or weekend anyway, please send us a text through Hip Camp and we will un-block the weekend so you may book it. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Mark and Bonnie’s site. This is truly what Hipcamp is all about!! I’ve been using this app for a few years now, and this is the most beautiful, peaceful, clean, and well-stocked place I have stayed yet. I was totally blown away. I stayed there with my adventure kitty 🐱 over Labor Day weekend. Traffic was bad so I ended up arriving past dark, but they left the lights on for me and everything was so easy to find. They even left a bag of cat treats in the tent for her! I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Everything you could possibly need is already there for you. Bedding, cookware, solar lighting, solar charging for your stuff, even right down to spices and condiments for whatever you cook! It’s a gorgeous area too- rolling hills and farmland and views of the mountains. In the mornings I walked through the beautiful gardens and watched the birds. As someone who studied wildlife biology in college, I especially appreciated that everything there is as natural as possible- with native wildflowers and pollinator plants for the bees. I ended up going up to Mt Mica for a mining trip which was something on my bucket list- so fun. But next time I’m looking forward to exploring all the places closer to the farm. I didn’t get to meet Mark or Bonnie in person this time, but they were so responsive and helpful and kind every time I reached out. I am truly thankful for finding this place and getting to stay there. I hope to be back soon!! 💕

This campsite/trip is one for the books! Total privacy, great location(drive in theater and restaurants close by), trails and gardens to walk through, and at night the skies were clear to see the stars out in the fields. Highly recommended!
