We loved our stay at cabin 2. This off-the-grid cabin on Cobbossee Stream was exactly what we were looking for. The screened in porch overlooking the water perfect for our meals and morning coffee. Our 7yo loved her bedroom, the dock, and getting out in the canoe. The cabin was very clean and well furnished. We can't wait to come back.

This is the most beautiful cabin! Everything about it is cozy and unique. We cooked with ease and enjoyed the shower and the fire. We were able to go the nearby beaches and walk right from the cabin to a nature preserve. I highly recommend a stay.

This is the nicest place! Every piece of it is a beautiful piece of art or handpicked item. The bed is super comfortable and the shower is hot. The hosts are incredibly kind. You can drive 20 minutes to a bug grocery store, go on a hike from the house, and drive 10 minutes to the beach

Weekend Trip to Maine Lakeside Hideaway - Otyokwa

Great spot. So quiet and restorative. We went on a rainy weekend knowing we would be hunkered down. We loved the sauna and the pond swimming. Sleeping cabins are very well appointed, as is the kitchen cabin. Very grateful to the folks who keep this place alive.

1 night at Insulated Tiny Cabin

Perfect location to spend time in the Freeport area as well as Portland so close by. The cabin was perfect for 2 people and the bed was very comfortable. We packed our sleeping bags to use on the bed and both slept like a baby. The host had great communication to help locate where the cabin was, we were able to find it even arriving late at night. Outhouse was well taken care of as well! We did not need the greenhouse amenities but appreciated they were there to use. Recommend!

We had a fantastic weekend at the Slippery Rock Cabin! John & Janet were extremely welcoming & informative, and the property was incredibly well maintained. We had a great canoe ride, rode our mountain bikes out to the pond and around the property, and our kids (3 & 4) enjoyed biking the fields and exploring. The tiny cabin was cozy, comfortable and had everything we needed!

Loved our stay here! I was a little sad it was raining at first, but with the wood stove keeping us toasty, the cool solar fairy lights, the little library, and a few games provided, we had a super cozy night in listening to the rain fall outside, and the screened in porch was a great place to hang out too! We even got some tiny little tree frogs come for a visit, a sure sign that it's finally spring! Beautiful land, beautiful little cabin! Tucker was very helpful with giving us directions when we put the wrong address in our GPS and ended up stuck in the mud down what we thought was a dirt road. He even offered to bring his tractor to pull us out (we already had help on the way, though). Walking into the cabin with our pup Mabel made a stressful journey feel more like a fun little adventure and after changing out of our muddy clothes it was all just a funny story to tell. It was fun reading through guest book and the instruction booklet was very helpful. Be diligent about checking for ticks, a few hitched a ride on Mabel (to be expected this time of year) . Such a peaceful place! We'll be back!

Beautiful cabin! More spacious than I imagined with the high ceiling and porches really expanding the space. Plenty of firewood and potable water available. Cozy in all the right ways. Easy to get to local preserve for hikes, nearby towns for some antiquing. Such a perfect spot.

Second time here and loved it just as much. They let us check in early and out late which was super helpful and awesome of them to do. Great site with a lot to do both at the cabin and around it. Will definitely be back.

Weekend Trip to Slippery Rock Trails LLC

I booked this hipcamp SUPER last minute, due to some rearrangements that couldn't be worked through with our first planned hipcamp. John was so accommodating and prompt with checking that the heat in the tiny house was working before he approved the booking in case it wasn't and we couldn't stay. well it was working, and we found the little gas powered fireplace to be so soothing and cozy. I have to give John kudos as well for taking his snowmobile and making us a path to sled with as well as bringing us sleds to borrow! my partner and i are full grown adults and we had the best time sledding down that hill. it was hard to walk back up (we are aging) but it was so worth it. we will definitely be returning!

We loved our stay at the Tiny House! The cabin itself is beautiful and very private, the listing was accurate, and the HipCamper Guide left for us gave us lots of things to do in the area. Tucker is responsive and super helpful! We came in the dead of winter, so the electricity wasn’t working, but lots of lanterns were provided. And after the woodstove heated up properly, the place was warm and comfortable despite the freezing temps! We had brought a portable heater just incase but only used it when waiting for the woodstove to heat the place up. The outhouse is clean and stocked with TP and hand sanitizer. Lots of firewood was provided. Overall a really wonderful stay and we cannot wait to come back in the summer!

Our cabin is an off grid post and beam structure that we built 8 years ago. It's has a full kitchen, wood stove, and screened porch. There are jugs provided for doing dishes etc and a large (150 gallon) tank outside for refills. There are a generous supply of lanterns (both battery and inflatable solar) flashlights and string lights for lighting. This is a small two story timber frame cabin off grid and secluded deep in the woods. It has a separate outhouse as well as shower stall to use the solar shower bags in. The cabin has a king sized bed in the loft with a child size fold down bunk above it; there is also a pull out couch on the first floor. As well as a kitchen, screened in porch and fire pit. Linen, dishes and utensils are not included please bring all that you need. There is a propane 4 burner stove with oven and solar shower bags. Trash and campfire wood is included. We are very busy with kids and work, we try our best to clean and re-supply between guests but it is not always possible, please let us know if something needs attention!

One day my children. 3 large tent sites and two camper sites. Future cabin and seasonal RV sites. A brook runs through the property but dries up after June. There is a small pond with rock stairs. Deer and turkey are frequently seen. Peace and serenity. This property does not offer complete seclusion. You will see other campers if all 3 sites are occupied. There is spacious distance. What this location offers is that it is centrally located to mountains, oceans, lakes,concert venues, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and antiquing. Traveling to NH and Massachusetts is a day trip. A few hours and your in central Maine. Cross the border into Canada. So much to explore or just relax. Stay a few nights or stay the season. 2023 is off to a great camping season. Already meeting new campers. Hopefully I'll see some familiar faces from 2022. A few upgrades. There is an outside water faucet, an outlet and an outside shower...hot and a privacy fence. There is a bathroom/shed that contains a bucket compost toilet. A compost bag and shavings/leaves/moss provided. The tent sites are off grid with a few conveniences. Please view my camper rental if you are seeking another experience. Goats are coming. Yes goats. Not until fall though. The frog pond population continues to grow. A neighboring town is finding 3 legged frogs in their ponds. Apparently caused by a parasite. Let me know if you find any.

Once owned by the namesake of the access road to the property (Tolman Lane), this property consists of over 130 wooded acres which provides a quiet, secluded getaway to reset your clock and melt the stress away. The cabin is a cute little space made from recycled materials, creative building skills, and a whole lot of love. Nothing fancy by any means, just a fun spot to hide away with loved ones! We celebrate the simple things in life here. It's perfect for couples, small families, or upto 4 guests in 2 beds. Take a walk out the door into the woods, play down by the stream- have a campfire- or spend the day with your nose in a good book. The loft is fully stocked with paints and brushes if you're feeling the flow! It's just a great place to let go, and relax! The sky is intense- the owls are loud, and there is plenty to do within a short drive incase ya get cabin fever and want to get back into the world for some fun! Make sure to save some time to take a paddle on the canoe, kayaks, or paddleboard that we leave down at a nearby pond for you! Colby's Cabin has everything you need for your stay in a beautiful, off-the-grid, rustic log cabin on 10 acres in a wilderness area minutes to Webb Lake, Tumbledown Mountain & Mt. Blue State Park. Many kinds of trails all around. In Maine’s finest hiking, hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking and boating territory. A perfect place for adventure, romance, celebration or serenity. An escape from the electronic world! But there is good cell/data service too. The cabin has solar and battery lights but no power or generator. Hand water pump in the kitchen during spring/summer/fall. 6 gallons of wash water provided in the winter. Spacious outhouse, solar shower, etc. (See Winter Conditions below). Glamping at its finest! This is a cozy place with led lights & solar lights, candles, gas cook range, gas refrigerator, wood stove, a dug well with hand-pump in the kitchen (pump can not be used when the temperature is below freezing) and a log cabin outhouse. King bed in bedroom; twin bunk beds and queen pull-out futon couch in great room Fully outfitted with dishes, utensils, pots,/pans, linens/blankets/pillows, books, games, oil lanterns, camp/bag shower and more. Firewood is included in the rental price. Propane, paper towels, toilet paper and dish soap are also provided. All Wheel Drive or 4WD is needed to access the cabin in winter and mud season. WINTER CONDITIONS (when ground is frozen): -4-wheel drive or All Wheel Drive needed. -There is NO running water from the well pump when the ground is frozen. The sink can be used with a bucket underneath. Bring extra water for washing. -Really big storms can cause reservations to be rescheduled -Extreme Cold Weather: When temperatures fall to 15 degrees or below, use the propane heater in the bunk room with the woodstove in the great room. Feed the wood stove every couple of hours. Snowmobilers! You may have to unload your machines at the bottom of the hill to get your trucks up the hill with trailers hitched or leave trailers at the bottom of the hill in a plowed out parking area, ride the snowmobiles up separately. -Shooting/Target practice is NO longer allowed due to lack of respect for safety by several sets of guests. Nestled in a pristine natural setting, Hermit Island Campground offers a unique camping experience that has captivated generations since its establishment in 1952. This rustic retreat remains largely unchanged, providing a slow-paced atmosphere that harmonizes with the surrounding environment. With 271 distinct campsites located on the southern end of the island, each site offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature. We invite campers to bring their tents, pop-up trailers (up to 25 feet), and truck campers, while keeping in mind that RVs and hard-topped campers are not permitted. Although we adore dogs, they are not allowed in the campground to maintain a peaceful environment for all guests. Reservations are available from May 24 to October 14, 2024. During the off-season, the campground operates from May 24 to June 21 (excluding Memorial Day) and after Labor Day until October 14, though please note that the Kelp Shed, Snack Bar, and Gift Shop will be closed during this time. The campground is closed from October 14 to mid-May. Each campsite is equipped with a fire pit, a picnic table, space for your camping gear, and a designated parking spot for one vehicle.
