When you arrive at the big posts and posted signs keep driving through because you are almost there. Originally settled in the early 1800's with a few house's, barn's and an old one room schoolhouse. A few foundations are still visible along with a couple old dug wells and dumps with old bottles. We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a half mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

Weekend Trip to Trees of Life Retreat (ToLR)

My pup and I had a great time at ToLR. We had a hilarious greeting of turkeys and hens and then about 100 yards then to the right and we were there! The happy birds were a highlight each morning, the nuthatches were busy. The trails behind the woodshed were lovely and quiet. The cabin was so clean and so thoughtfully done. We didn’t want to leave and will for sure be back. Such a lovely and peaceful place.

It was a really great stay and super quiet. Walmart is 30 minutes away and the privy is one of the cleanest that I've seen and it has an led light. The communication was crystal and I highly recommened this spot!

If you are looking for a place to camp that is remote, quiet, well maintained and has some of the most picturesque views from your campsite and beyond, look no further than Orange Gate Sites! They offer anything that you are looking for in outdoor accommodations. From a spacious RV site, (or in our case, a full size school bus) to a tent site for the more adventurous, to a cozy cabin with many amenities to make your stay more comfortable. Orange Gate Sites is clean, has ready to burn firewood, sturdy fire pits that you can even cook your meals on, and clean outdoor toilets. We went tent camping on Jeff and Cathy's land. Jeff and Cathy were wonderful hosts. I mentioned that it was my wife's birthday gift and they went next level by decorating our picnic area with birthday decorations and a personalized card. They also gave our boys two painted pumpkins to bring home. I didn't know I'd find hospitality at a campground, but Jeff and Cathy delivered. All of the sites offer good privacy so you don't feel like you're stacked on top of another family. The bathhouse is kept super clean. This was our first overnight tent night with our children and it went spectaculary! Thank you Jeff and Cathy. We'll be back.

You can tell Leketa and Hillary put a lot of thought into the small touches — it made all the difference. Site was clean, roomy, quiet, and very private. There were ample trees around but a clear view of the sky for Starlink. Jane communicated with us in advance and made sure that we had clear directions to the site. We were visiting friends in Castine and this was a perfect home base for our visit.

I can’t wait to come back! My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this. The set up was perfect, Jeff and Cathy have gone above and beyond with making sure their guests feel comfortable and enjoy their stay. We stayed in the Owls Nest, it was super cozy. There was a whole outdoor kitchen set up with all the kitchen supplies you need. They supplied fire wood, kindling and fire starter! They had jugs of water, a very nice clean bathroom set up. There is a lot of cute animals around too, we saw a few deer, and a porcupine with its baby! We were so impressed with Jeff and Cathy’s hospitality and can’t wait to come stay in the Owls Nest next season :)

my husband and i camped at the christmas tree farm for 2 nights while going to the common ground fair. it was convenient to be so close, and we had a lot of privacy and space. we enjoyed cooking breakfast and dinner on our little stove top at the picnic table on top of this hill with a beautiful view of the fields and mountains. the sunrises and sunsets were absolutely divine and we slept under a bright blanket of stars! jesse was incredibly accommodating and helpful, while also giving us space to relax and enjoy our stay. our only challenge was finding a flat place to camp, but by the second night we found a spot that suited us well. i'd recommend arriving before nightfall to pick out an ideal flat camping spot if you're tent camping. cheers!

We stopped by Randy's on our way to Baxter State Park! A-Frame was so cozy, clean and private!! Randy came out to greet us since we were having a little trouble getting here later at night. Very friendly. The outdoor shower is very cool and everything is well thought out. Would recommend to everyone and hope for the chance to come back.
