Your setting is a quiet, open blueberry field with pastoral views. There is a tent platform, picnic table and fire pit. WE DO NOT PROVIDE FIREWOOD. From the site you can hike "Chicken House" road back through the woods and fields. This was the original stagecoach road to Augusta. Tick season is upon us so we recommend you stay on the road. Enjoy the peace and privacy of our small farm surrounded by lush forests in the heart of Surry, Maine. Wander out a few miles and find local hiking trails, beaches, and coastal Maine culture. It's about a 40-min drive (24 miles) from our farm to Acadia National Park and 10 mins to Blue Hill, where you'll find restaurants, Bucklyn Coffee (our fave!), and cute shops and galleries. There are ample opportunities for birdwatching, stargazing, and wildlife viewing right on the farm or at any of the land trust locations nearby (ask Lauren for local hiking recommendations). We're 6 miles from Surry Beach, a lovely pebble beach with a portable toilet, dumpster, and doggie poop station in the parking area. Surry Store is right down the street and has basic groceries, ice, and tasty food. This spot was nice and felt secluded and it's in a great location making it easy to access the coast and Bangor. I met a man out there "Tipping" for wreaths which apparently is done after the 3rd frost? It was cool to get a brief run down about it. I would definitley recommend Bruce camps. I stayed at the "Greedo" and it was a short walk in because I have an HRV and not enough clearence but I'd say its about 100' down a slight grade to the tent site.

We enjoyed the beach, and I would highly consider coming back at a warmer time. The campsite we stayed at wasn’t as big as it looked in photos, so there was some maneuvering near the old house to fit our two tiny trailers. It was an hour to the main Acadia entrance, but so beautiful out there. If camping in tick season, bring spray and check your dogs. We were covered. Beach was 100/10.

This was a sweet place to stay. Krystal was a wonderful host and I enjoyed spending time around her horses and pups. The place was very close to lots of great hiking and a short way to Lincolnville Beach. I would definitely recommend!

You go for the wide open space and the great view! The site is no more than a port a potty, fire ring, and picnic table, AND it was perfect. It’s very private, quiet, and more than spacious. If fresh air and solitude is your vibe, this is the place for you. The host was in contact shortly reservation and the directions from the host get you where you need to be. I’d stay again.

We car camped on Michael’s land and had a great time. It’s a nice out of the way spot not too far from Acadia, which we had come to Maine to visit The spot itself is interesting with a lot to explore nearby. Michael was very friendly, accommodating, and responsive. Would highly recommend.
