The point is our home, offered to guests as a place for seekers of peace and solace to gain a better relationship and appreciation with nature in a world that has forgotten the importance and connection we all have with the planet that sustains us.
A priority here for me is keeping this land pristine and respected. Our mission to save and protect our natural environment and keep it natural and wild can only be accomplished with the active mindfulness of you. We aim to prove that hipcamp can be a magical experience for private landowners and campers alike, to provide a means of temporal community and beneficial alternative to traditional campgrounds; one that does not degrade the environment and break the peace that small towns still contain.
Please be mindful of the trash you generate and mindful of the noise you are making— we aim to provide seekers of peace a *quiet* time in nature.

Wolves and Sounds of the Night

Before you make a reservation read the description of each site. Read all of the info, when you submit your request please include/verify the following info: Is everyone in your group at least 21?/No kids or pets traveling with you.? What sort or camping unit.? Tent/RoofTent/RV/Hammock/Trailer.? Including this in your original request will speed up your site acceptance. Our camping section is located on the property of Kisma Preserve. Home to black bear, local mammals , and our favorite, wolves. Most of the staff live here full time all year. The sounds of the night are magical. Unleash your imagination and camp here away from the crowds you may find within the local Acadia National Park area which begins about 5 minutes away at Thompson’s Island and the bridge to Mt Desertt Island. We are close to basic necessities, and a step away from the masses. We do educational tours daily and if interested these tours are arranged by reservation too. We may allow camping in Winter months but if it is between November and May it is very important to call and find out the accessibility , weather impacts everything. The shower will likely be unavailable in freezing months and some sites are closed. CALL and speak with a staff member before reserving. Self contained Adventure Vans and tent campers with Winter Gear and Rooftop Tents can be accommodated. Or If you want to have a solid roof , screens and a fabulous view ask about reserving our Cadillac Mountain View Loft or if the idea of being naked under the stars is appealing opt for our Raw and Rough site.! Pulling in late, and leaving early for a typical Sunrise reservation.? We can also accommodate that if we know that is all you want. Traveling with your horse.? Talk to us about an Equine site. The Biker’s Bunkhouse is ideal for motorcycle travelers as it shelters both the guest and the Bike/s. Always call, we can answer all questions to get you into the right site for your style of adventuring. With each listing be sure to read all the information. If you are interested in a spontaneous camping adventure, if your luggage got lost or if you just don’t want to deal with transporting camping gear we can connect you with a local gear renter who can supply you with a basic box of necessities including a tent. Last minute reservation requests may not work via the reservation site but we may very likely have a space. A very sweet and rustic Hemlock cabin, along with secluded 17' and 14" bell tents, plus 2 private campsites sit along beautiful Webb Brook. Walk through the large open field, away from everything, to this storybook setting. All you can hear is the waters of the brook rushing and sounds of nature all around. Graham Lake is just a stone's throw away. Great for kayaking, fishing, and swimming. This magical place is just beyond our farm where we you can buy fresh chicken and duck eggs daily at the house.
In the cabin, upstairs, a lofted queen bed accessed by a sturdy wooden ladder. Downstairs, a wood stove with dining area, and living space with full sized convertible bed. No electricity, no plumbing, no wifi. Good cell service. Composting toilet and water tank for use inside cabin. Gas grill and firepit with tripod grate outside for cooking options. Two large picnic tables for outdoor dining. Truly a magical place.
The campsites and secluded 2 bell tent sites are hidden away along Webb Brook, sitting among the pines and hardwoods. A port-a-potty available for all guests' use. Almost 9 acres of land to explore and discover, as well as Graham Lake just a walk away.

Bringing a warm sleeping bag will enhance your stay in cool Maine nights or when the mist rolls in. The key to staying warm is closing the windows at sundown, and then feeding the fire in the wood stove. We provide hardwood, you provide the human power to get it in the wood in the stove. We are pet friendly. However, we do not accept all pets. As you sent a request to bring your friendly, well-trained, well-behaved pet, we have accepted that being the case.
We do not discriminate against large dogs. We have large dogs. Your dog will be expected to meet me and my dogs and interact appropriately. If your dog cannot do that, it is not welcome. We do discriminate against mean, biting, untrained and misbehaving ones.
You will pass by our henhouse where our chickens may be roaming at large. It is important for you to keep your dog on the leash until you hit the rock wall. We also have geese, they are of the nice geese persuasion, they will usually veer away from you upon being approached. We do not want any pets chasing our geese. They have goslings now so will be protective of their young.
At the cabin, they are welcome to be off leash, but should respond to voice commands and not be left outside unattended.
Also, Maine is very dog friendly. There are few places you can’t take your pet.

The cabin at White Duck Farm

We built this cabin recently with siblings and a few skilled friends
to make a getaway place for the extended family.
It is built on property adjacent to our fruit farm which is slowly building up to full production with a kiwi orchard planted, ramps seeded, saffron planted, and a producing strawberry hoophouse for early ripening fruit. We move our horse and pony around to different fields during the warmer months, and keep pekin ducks (the white ones) (now all in retirement!). The farm is 80+ acres with logging roads and is located on a quiet road. Food markets and some good places to eat are within 6-7 miles. If you come in the fall you should know that the roof is insulated but the walls are not - so layer up, bring extra blankets, and hugging the woodstove might be necessary! There is an outdoor shower, a nice outhouse, a campstove, oil lamps etc - so it's is very old fashion yet comfortable cabin stay!

Sandy Beach Camp

Small 1 bedroom camp with queen sized bed. There is a day bed with trundle in the living room for additional sleeping spaces. Amenities include generator for power, propane stove and fridge, gas grill and gas griddle, Kayaks and canoe, and more. The camp sits on a hill overlooking spectacle pond through the trees. The area around the camp is flat and great for yard games etc. There is a very short trail (a few hundred feet) down to the sandy frontage. The water is shallow for a few hundred feet before it gets deeper so it's great for kids to play in or adults to move their chairs into and sit in the water. Pitch a tent by the water or set up a small camper in the yard for extra sleeping space. There is a nice outhouse on site. We are working on lake drawn running water but you may or may or not have it for your stay. Plan to not have it, please. This place is a lot like camping with some of the comforts of home.

Daylily Farm & Waterfalls

Daylily Farm was once part of a large family farm with many acres of fields that have grown into Pine and hardwood forests during the past eighty years. The family was fond of flowers and their efforts have endured into the present. There are two acres of daylilies, Iris, peonies, daffodils, lilacs and concord grapevines. After the last of the White family passed the gardens were slowly being overrun by other opportunistic plants including many Pines. They were crowding out the flower but fortunately the flowers are quite hardy. Going on two years now the flower beds are being reclaimed and the property is being nurtured back into its cared for loveliness.Before the Great Depression the Monroe town center was located on either side of the falls. Rumor has it that during the depression and with electricity becoming available along the Maine Coast, the towns people took down their buildings leaving only the granite foundations and went to live and farm at the coast. This left very little of the town. Fortunately they dismantled the dam and restored the falls to their natural state. This is my second summer here. The first I watched to see what plants grow where and this year there is a lot of reclaiming of the gardens. There are grapevines that are at least 80 years old. New vegetable gardens are being planted. Hegekarten's are being built of the organic materials all around. The sounds of the waterfalls constantly fill the air which is soothing. Falling to sleep with the sounds of falling waters is quite delightful.

You'll arrive at our barn and home, probably greeted by a variety of animals.
Walking past the pond and through the field towards the tree line, you'll arrive at our tiny cabin situated on a hill with the salt marsh below.
The cabin is furnished with a full sized futon, a wooden bench, beehive working woodstove, and shelving. There are candle lanterns provided, however we suggest also bringing a few flashlights.
Depending on the season we have farm vegetables and eggs available, kayaks available upon request to use to explore the salt marsh and harbors right out in front of the cabin.
A short drive and you can find numerous hiking areas and beaches or take the longer 1 hour and 15 min ride to Bar Harbor.
The cabin is not visible to the main house, though sound may travel. You'll have a beautiful view of the water facing west for sun sets. We access the water and trails around the fields foraging for berries with our kiddos and dogs, along with rotating the grazing animals and will provide ample space to respect your privacy.
A small gas grill and cooler can be provided,
Cabin has no electric or running water. Water can be accessed from the main house and/or barn pumps depending on season, however will need to be brought down to cabin. Outhouse is located nearby.
