Ideally located for day trips to Acadia and all the best that mid-coast Maine has to offer, the property features two delightful cottages. One has a king bed, and the other has a queen bed. Additional single beds are available as needed. Both are charming, decorated with thoughtfully sourced local pieces, and furnished with comfortable bedding. Guests will enjoy access to the private dock on pristine Walker Pond, a flotilla of kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes, two beautiful sleeping cottages, an outdoor shower, an outdoor toilet, a grill, and hammocks. The property abuts the town boat launch, which has a boat ramp and a sandy beach ideal for children. Birds and wildlife abound, with hiking trails right out the front door. A supplemental rental agreement including terms for waterfront and watercraft usage will be sent to Hipcampers after booking. Places to Explore! Nestled amidst Maine Heritage Trust conservation land, our property enjoys protection from surrounding development, ensuring peace and privacy. Miles of scenic trails are within walking distance, and the nearby public landing offers access to a sandy beach and picnic area. A stop at the Caterpillar Hill overlook is a must as you arrive! A visit to Cooper Farm Preserve for blueberry picking and forest bathing along the quarter-mile Peter Clapp Trail is just a one-minute walk from our front door. A bird's-eye view of Eggemoggin Reach from Lookout Rock Preserve is a short drive down the road. Minutes from the stunning Penobscot Bay, our property is centrally located for day trips to renowned destinations such as Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and Blue Hill. Ferry rides to nearby islands like Isle au Haut and Vinalhaven await, adding to the adventure! In nearby Blue Hill, follow the Bagaduce River as it flows into Penobscot Bay with hikes through the mixed forests and shoreline of Snow Cove. You can also take in the expansive views of the Bagaduce River from Bluff Head Preserve's overlook. Pets are welcome! Enjoy wooded trail hikes with your dog at Penny's Preserve, Meadowbrook Forest, and Penobscot Community Forest. The Penobscot Bay area is rich in heritage, from its pristine islands and lobster fishing to its vibrant sailing culture and blueberry farms.
