To the north the Dixmont, and Bangor areas are visible. Watch the sunset to the west over Sennebec pond and Appleton ridge. To the southwest Mt. Washington may be just visible on a clear day. 75 acres of open fields and woodlands to explore at your leisure. Among the hidden gems you might find are the original homestead foundation, a vernal brook, a distant field that is totally secluded and an oak tree with a heart! We built this cabin recently with siblings and a few skilled friends to make a getaway place for the extended family. Just 2 miles off Rte. One our location is quiet and perfect for exploring the midcoast of Maine - a short drive to many favorite places! The cabin is built on property adjacent to our fruit farm which is slowly building up to full production with a kiwi orchard planted, ramps seeded, and a producing strawberry hoophouse for early ripening fruit. We move our horse and pony around to different fields during the warmer months, and keep pekin ducks (the white ones) (now all in retirement!). The farm is 78+ acres with logging roads and is located on a quiet road. Food markets and some good places to eat are within 6-7 miles. There is an outdoor shower, a nice outhouse, a campstove, oil lamps etc - so it's is very old fashion yet comfortable cabin stay! Bring your own towels and maybe some candles. Plenty of board games, and maps of our local hikes and places to explore. If you come in the fall you should know that the roof is insulated but the walls are not - so layer up, bring extra blankets, and hugging the woodstove might be necessary! You'll enjoy the screened porch in all kinds of weather.

Beautiful private place with a 360 view of the mountains! Completely impressed by the stone picnic table! The turn is a bit hidden so drive very slowly — we reached the top of the mountain and had to turn around because we went too far. I think the sign is a little hidden within the bushes. Otherwise, such a lovely stay! Would return!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The cabin was cozy with everything we needed for cooking right on hand. Super easy to get to, which made the trip more relaxing. The location was prime, about 100 yards of waterfront to enjoy, with sunny mornings and shady afternoons that were perfect for hanging out. Our two dogs had the best time. We’d absolutely come back!

This is our most beloved spot. We love it because of its spectacular view over Maine and the absolute privacy! We have been coming for years and were never disappointed by the place or the host. Rod has always been very forthcoming, helpful and reliable. This time he even gave us a tour to the second spot that he plans to open up next year: another spot with all the privacy you could wish for and an amazing view. If you are looking for a spot that gives you beauty and privacy but also the closeness to Camden and Rockport for getting some hustle and bustle in summer in Maine, you are at the perfect place. We are looking forward to come back again. And we are planning to do that in October. With a camper, it doesn't matter when it gets a little cold at night, because the view is always amazing no matter the season.

The cabin was homie, it had everything we needed. Id say the main bed was a hit small for two larger people, could be a bit bigger. It was so nice to have free water the two jugs came in handy like crazy. It was perfect description of a cabin in the woods.

This site was absolutely incredible! We stayed here for one night and would definitely stay here again. We were able to pick some fresh blueberry’s in the morning. The views from the campsite are very nice but loved how the site had a table, chairs, and fire pit. Bugs were not an issue at all. We will definitely be returning in the future to camp here and explore more of the surrounding area.

Stuart Little’s dream house is an off-grid cabin on the edge of the woods, in the backyard of our home. The cabin is perfect for people who are camping, but want a little more accommodation. It has two futons that can turn into double beds, table and chairs, small porch, outhouse, and a picnic bench. Bring your sleeping bag and camp stove, and you are all set! There are also places to pitch a tent, if desired. *Please read full description before booking. Please be aware, this is rustic camping in the yard. This is not a campground or upscale facility. Welcome to Lilac Firefly! This is a residential 7 acre property in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We are right off the main road for easy access about 15-20 minutes south of Bangor. It is very peaceful and calm here. We live in the 5 bedroom older farmhouse where you can use the bathroom if needed. You will receive a code for the electronic door lock. There is a small stream and community fireplace by the 4 campsites and another fireplace closer to the garden. The designated campsites are at the rear of the property and are first come, first serve. A tent can be set up anywhere on the 7 acres and does not need to be in the designated campsite area. We have easily acomodated 20+ canpers at once (6-8 groups), though typically you might be the only group here. Car camping, van life, and RVs are welcome! There are some lightly wooded areas, apple trees, a pear tree, and an open field. We are pet friendly and there animals that live here that won't bother you. I also travel a lot as a DJ and audio tech and might not be here, but have a self check in process and video I will send. Roommates are generally here. Maine Savings Amphitheatre is 15 min away (concerts in Bangor). Acadia National Park is just over 1 hour away. Bangor and Bucksport are both about 15 min away. Fort Knox is about 20 min away. From the campsites, the road and house are not visible. We have flowers when in season, deer, turkey, birds, and friendly creatures that visit. Please be ready to be self sufficient and sustainable in any weather. Well water is available at the RV posts and passes all tests - pure and safe for drinking. RV parking may need to be arranged with myself. For RVs, Electric hook up is 30amp and an extra $10/day. Water hook up is $5/fill. Chopped, split, and dried wood (pine) is available included in your Hipcamp fee! You can burn what you need for the day/night. Thank you.
