When you arrive at the big posts and posted signs keep driving through because you are almost there. Originally settled in the early 1800's with a few house's, barn's and an old one room schoolhouse. A few foundations are still visible along with a couple old dug wells and dumps with old bottles. We now own 365 acres that was named Texas Four Corners (no one knows why) in the middle of 1,600 undeveloped acres with the closest inhabited house from our property is over a half mile away. 15 Mile Stream runs thru the property. 16 miles to Common Ground Fair in Unity. 15 miles to Waterville and 28 miles to Belfast.

We invite you to come stay at our location in the Western Maine mountains. We are located off of the Long Falls Dam Rd in Carrying Place Township, in the heart of Maine's wilderness. Our property offers beautiful mountain views; many nearby hiking trails; nearby swimming, boating, fishing and kayaking at Flagstaff Lake; along with numerous back roads to explore and look for wildlife. You can also find ATV trails about a half hour drive away in the town of Kingfield. Ensure you are guaranteed a spot just outside the Bigelow Preserve and everything it has to offer. We look forward to your visit. Our sites sit behind a locked gate that is monitored 24/7 with a security camera. Also, although we are remote, we do offer Wi-Fi for your convenience. Please take note that our sites are very remote. We may be right off a paved road, but the closest town with a store is a half an hour drive. Also be mindful that this is the Maine wilderness, there are wild animals that frequent our location, along with biting insects such as deer flies and mosquitoes. This truly is a beautiful location, but please be sure to pack accordingly for your stay.

Our home is a winter wonderland that can be enjoyed in all seasons. Almost 200 acres of mild to adventurous hiking in heavy wooded forest, but if you prefer an easy walk there are 30 acres of Balsam fir Christmas trees with a great view from any angle. This is a working tree farm that dates back to the 60s. Park your camper or pop a tent at the top of our fields for a view of the Belfast Bay on a clear day. Or tuck into the trees beyond it for seclusion and shade. Anywhere you camp is a great place to take in the fall colors of the Maples, Poplar, Oak and Birch in the surrounding woodlands. 20 minutes from Bangor - shopping, restaurants, venues, etc. 30 minutes to Belfast - small coastal town w/ shops, great food, ocean views. 15 minutes to Monroe Country Store for homemade pizza, baked goods and bevvies. 15 minutes to Tattooed Dad Brewery in Jackson w/ live music.

If you are looking for a place to camp that is remote, quiet, well maintained and has some of the most picturesque views from your campsite and beyond, look no further than Orange Gate Sites! They offer anything that you are looking for in outdoor accommodations. From a spacious RV site, (or in our case, a full size school bus) to a tent site for the more adventurous, to a cozy cabin with many amenities to make your stay more comfortable. Orange Gate Sites is clean, has ready to burn firewood, sturdy fire pits that you can even cook your meals on, and clean outdoor toilets. my husband and i camped at the christmas tree farm for 2 nights while going to the common ground fair. it was convenient to be so close, and we had a lot of privacy and space. we enjoyed cooking breakfast and dinner on our little stove top at the picnic table on top of this hill with a beautiful view of the fields and mountains. the sunrises and sunsets were absolutely divine and we slept under a bright blanket of stars! jesse was incredibly accommodating and helpful, while also giving us space to relax and enjoy our stay. our only challenge was finding a flat place to camp, but by the second night we found a spot that suited us well. i'd recommend arriving before nightfall to pick out an ideal flat camping spot if you're tent camping. cheers!

We absolutely loved our stay on Joel’s land. Unbelievably beautiful spot. Spacious and quiet. Only ten minutes or so from amenities but feels a world away. We absolutely loved riding our bikes up and down the hill at sunset. We’d come back any time (and plan to!). One thing, we booked site one thinking it was the site at the top of the hill with a picnic table (as we car camp usually and don’t have a table handy). When we arrived, other campers were already set up in what we thought was our site. I based this assumption on previous campers reviews, and the fact that it says there’s a picnic table at the site on HipCamp. We found another great spot down the hill and set up there, but it was a little more difficult without a table and frankly a little confusing as to where to set up as sites aren’t numbered and we didn’t want to intrude on anyone else. A minor inconvenience as we still had an amazing time.

From the moment we arrived until the second we reluctantly packed up, our time there was nothing short of perfection. The views? Prepare to have your jaw on the ground, Seriously, they are beyond stunning – panoramic, breathtaking, and just endlessly captivating. We spent hours just soaking it all in, mesmerized by the sheer beauty surrounding us. Every angle offered a new Instagram worthy scene. But it wasn't just the scenery that made this trip so incredible; it was the entire vibe and, of course, Joel himself.
