WARNING: The driveway leading to the campsite is a long, steep, gravel driveway with a concrete bridge at the bottom. The bridge also has fairly steep embankments on both sides (entering and exiting) with a turn heading into the site. A 4WD vehicle will be necessary for anyone pulling an RV as we have had at least one guest get stuck halfway up the hill when exiting with a two-wheeled truck with a V8 engine pulling a small RV. In addition, you will likely need a brake-control system installed for coming down the hill. Front-wheel drive vehicles with high clearance should be satisfactory to cross the bridge and exit the steep hill as long as you are not pulling an RV. This was the coolest place we’ve ever camped at! The hosts were super nice and easy to communicate with, they also recommended a lot of different things to see/do. The animals were very friendly and sociable, especially Little Rat and Frank. Overall very nice property!

We enjoyed hiking along the creek bed, visiting with the horses, and fishing in the river! A nice spot for camping; we pitched our tent in the field overlooking the river. Very friendly hosts and animals. Hope to get back sometime.

7 nights at Cedar Fire farm: Kamp kessa

We used this spot as a home base for our yearly hunting trip. It was perfect for what we needed. Everyone on the farm was friendly and welcoming! You’ll get to know the horses and cats as they wander around the farm and sometimes come up to you to say hello. The cabin was a great common area and place to wind down after a long day of being out in the woods.

What a great spot. Very private and a perfect place to camp. The site is sat between 2 creeks and our young boys (2 and 4) absolutely loved exploring every bit of it. The hosts were very nice and provided firewood! Will definitely be coming back.

This was my first experience with Hipcamp. It was super easy. I followed a winding road with pretty views, pulled in, parked and was good to go. There was a friendly cat and dog by the office to greet me! The bathroom with shower was quite near. I enjoyed seeing the stars so clearly, too. I was even offered hot coffee in the morning! I think that was because it got down to 32 degree that night. Overall it was an easy and pleasant experience.

We didn't get to visit the store or go down to the river because we had some much to do in Richmond. We absolutely loved the peace and quiet at the campground. It was the perfect spot, clean, ever just as advertised!!!! Nice hot shower and clean bathroom!!! We definitely want to go back!!!!!!

We arrived after dark after Google maps to us the wrong way down a logging road that doesn't access the campground at all. Putting in the address instead of launching directions from the app will get you there easily, though. The sites were all nice and easy to find, even in the dark.

Absolutely fantastic stay! The kids roamed free and loved the animals. We hiked up the creek, which was so gorgeous and found the “witch’s” shed. Kevin was such a lovely host. We enjoyed getting to know him and the pets! We will definitely be back in the summer to swim in the creek and river.

This is a special place. It ain't fancy and when it is full for a huge music festival, you may need to plan your showers or fill the fresh tank and use your pump. But that is not the regular situation. There is a lot of space to roam, hike, bike and since it is on the river you can do river things. Rarely, the river gets high enough here to make camping iffy, but if you plan around that and have a backup plan, it is a great value and the music focus makes it more than worth a try. The road back to the property is mostly paved but has some gravel sections and frequently has spots that wash out or need repair but the road crews are usually on top of that, just be prepared for a slow 5 miles or so if you care about your rig.

We loved camping on Keven's property! It was a gorgeous spot right next to the Kentucky River. There was a beautiful creek for the kids to explore. Keven was super helpful and welcoming. There were some friendly donkeys, goats, and a couple of horses all on the property, which made this trip pretty memorable for the kids. Overall we had a great time and would definitely return.

We arrived at sunset, it was a beautiful drive and the site was really nice. The driveway was a little rough as explained in the summary, but we drove slow and were able to navigate it pretty easily in our kia soul. There was a nice firepit and large logs to burn; and the stars out there were amazing! It's a little far out, but there is a dollar general close by and a walmart only abt 15min away near an interstate. Would stay here again!
